My empress
Ji Yao leisurely sat on the dragon throne and watched Rui Fei mercilessly beat up someone for him to apologize. Yes, it's a terrible and unlawful thing to have one's boyfriend or husband beat up someone for them but it also felt so damn good. 1
From the words by Amy Malimichi on Quora, "A man that desires to protect me, whether I feel like I need it or not, is attractive because he will also protect our children. It is a biological attraction."
Ji Yao might not possess the ability to have children but he felt the exact same attraction. He couldn't wait to perform the marriage ritual with Rui Fei and officially lay claim to him in front of everyone.
A beautiful smile graced his face as he imagined them bowing to Heaven and Earth, bowing to show respect to the elderly in front of their relatives and bowing to each other.
He imagined them cutting the locks of their hair and tying them together before placing them into a beautiful box to carefully preserve it. Once that knot is tied they would become one in flesh and blood to live happily ever after.
His cheeks flushed imagining them drinking wine with their arms interlocked in the bridal chamber before Rui Fei lifts his bridal veil. His heart palpitated playing this scene in his mind over and over again. He imagined Rui Fei brushing his cheek with his cool fingers while calling out, "My empress," sweetly in a deep voice. It was at this moment he decisively wanted to be the one marrying into the Huishe clan. He wanted to be this man's bride.
Ji Yao only managed to extricate himself after hearing a low apology. His eyes that were staring at Rui Fei with love and affection were forced to glance over in the direction of the man lying on the ground.
"Huh?" asked Ji Yao his mind still recovering from the entrapment of his imagination.
"This subordinate apologizes.... This, this subordinate was wrong and should have... have found a better way to convey his thoughts," said the nocru with blood seeping out from the corner of his mouth.
Ji Yao silently looked at him for a while before his gaze shifted towards Rui Fei. The two stared at each other for a while before Ji Yao lazily flicked his fingers gesturing for Rui Fei to come over.
Rui Fei's expression softened. If his wife says come he will drop everything and walk over. Such is Ji Yao's superpower. More like his chrysanthemum power..... am I right? *wink *wink.
He gave the man one more vicious glare before walking up the stairs and kneeling before Ji Yao. Ji Yao's eyes widened and the Huishe clan members looked away with a feeling of hating iron for not being steel. What was the first rule of the Huishe clan?
Nocru never bowed to anyone let alone kneel. It was a law well preserved and passed down from generation to generation ever since the old ruling system was abolished. What they didn't realise was that his body, heart and soul were entirely devoted to Ji Yao.
Startled Ji Yao spoke through gritted teeth, "What are you doing? Get up.... now." He was like an angry wife trying to reprimand her husband in public.
Rui Fei slowly raised his head and stared at him with a gaze that seemed to pierce his soul. Ji Yao froze for a moment before slowly leaning forward his knees crossed one over the other. "Get up and we can resume this later," he whispered and sure enough Rui Fei got up.
The scorching heat burning Ji Yao's cheeks gradually cooled down as Rui Fei got up and stood next to him.
Ji Yao cleared his throat as he raised his head only to be met by numerous pairs of eyes staring at him. He suddenly felt extremely embarrassed.
While these two were stuffing dog food down people's throats the lord of the celestials felt a sense of unease creep up his spine.
He had already warned Ji Yao that the union of two worlds would severely tilt the scale and invite bigger trouble and as he sat there and watched these two being affectionate he sensed something.
It wasn't only the unification of the two worlds that would bring trouble but also their relationship. For the first time ever since his ascension, he felt a sense of crisis and he didn't know how to correct it. He had to get out of here and figure out a plan.
This wasn't as simple as eliminating either Ji Yao or Rui Fei. Even eliminating both of them at the same time would cause massive damage to other worlds that had nothing to do with it. He regretted it. He should have just killed Ji Yao from the very start and restored balance. Now it was too late.
A little flustered he beckoned Huishe Xiyue over. She was a little hesitant considering that she had committed an act of defiance for her son ever since she descended. But at the end of it all, she had no choice.
She walked over and stood behind him leaning her head down. His order was plain and simple. "Tell him to bring over Qilin San," he said and Huishe Xiyue obeyed. She walked over to Rui Fei, conveyed the message and Rui Fei passed it on to Ji Yao. Soon the main hall doors were opened and Qilin San was dragged into the room in chains.
He was shoved to the ground right in front of the Lord of the Celestials. His prideful and godly appearance had vanished. In place of it was a weak old man dressed in tattered clothes his hair cut up to his shoulders.
Instead of crying or begging for mercy, he was holding out his restrained hands while chuckling. Maybe being locked up lacking in power had resulted in him losing his mind or something because he completely disregarded his situation chuckling like a mad man.
Lord Tiāntǐ got up and exhaled deeply before saying, "Qilin San are you well aware of your crimes?"
Hearing his name being called his shoulders stopped shaking and he raised his head and stared straight into the Lord of the Celestial's eyes. Something flashed in his dull eyes as he raised his hand pointing at the celestial being in front of him.
Regaining a little of his senses he said, "You... you were there. When that bitch was trying to destroy Little Hao's acany seed... you, you were there, whispering something in her ear. I should..... I should thank you for helping me maintain my position as clan leader."
Qilin San suddenly knelt and tried to grab the hem of the celestial's robe only for the Lord of the Celestials to dodge to the side. But Qilin San didn't seem to notice. He sincerely kowtowed before him like he was truly grateful.
It was in fact true. If the rest of the clan found out about the special seed in Qilin Hao's body she would have directly qualified as clan leader. She was after all the first Qilin to be born with the acany seed hidden in her aether.
