"To whom..... who did you sell it to? I can offer them double," he said his expression serious. He had never been this serious about something in his entire life.2

Rui Fei just wanted to dig a hole and bury himself. This was too embarrassing. He was glad Rui Yewan wasn't here otherwise he might unintentionally sell him out.

Before Rui Li could come up with a plausible lie Ji Wen stared at Rui Fei noticing something was off. "You.... why are you sweating so much?"

Why couldn't this ancestor just leave him alone? "It uh..... it's hot, he said his voice getting lower and lower. Rui Fei was normally good at hiding his emotions but faced with his father-in-law his IQ dropped significantly.

"Ha..... is that why your face is red?" asked Ji Wen as a seed of suspicion sprouted in his chest.

"I....," he said before picking up the teapot and tilting it to pour out some tea to moisten his dry throat but as expected nothing came out. This further emphasized the oddity in his behaviour.

Just as he placed the teapot down Rui Yewan peeked his head out and asked, "Are you guys done discussing that stupid costume? I am kinda hungry."

Rui Li and Rui Fei, "....."

Okay, Rui Yewan truly wants Rui Fei's life otherwise why would he say that aloud? Ji Wen turned to look at Rui Fei and asked, "You were discussing it before. Did you buy it?" while Rui Li was frantically waving her hand for Rui Yewan to go back inside.

"Oh shit," muttered Rui Yewan running back inside.

"No, no, no..... I didn't we were just discussing uh," said Rui Fei failing to find the right words that Rui Li had to jump in and rescue him.

"Discussing me opening a um uh uh an explicit undergarments shop."

This indeed grasped Ji Wen's attention. Seeing this Rui Fei explained. "It, it will be like a shop for grown-ups only."

"Yes, it will be like an adult shop. How about that? We can have a separate branch for men and women," she explained saving her brother, "the client I sold it to liked it very very much so why not open shop in the imperial city."

Rui Fei scratched the back of his neck as he mumbled, "He not only liked it but he loved it very very much."

"Huh?" asked Ji Wen barely able to hear what Rui Fei was saying.

"Oh, I said they would love it very much," he explained.

Ji Wen somehow bought this and finally stopped grilling his son in law. "Oh, I can invest. Just make another one and if I like it I will invest. Any objections?" he said before standing up.

"Okay,"

"Sure,"

Rui Fei and Rui Li silently watched him as he left with stiff smiles on their faces. "We have no choice but to open an adult shop don't we?" said Rui Li with her teeth clenched together.

"Unfortunately yes... Keep smiling until he is gone otherwise he will sniff out our lies," said Rui Fei and just as he said that Ji Wen suddenly turned around and asked,

"By the way where is Ah-Yao? He is usually awake by this time?"

It was at this moment Rui Fei realised his luck had run out. He was about to come up with some bogus excuse like Ji Yao slept late star gazing or something along the lines when the subject of their conversation suddenly showed up.

Ji Yao froze seeing this little gathering. He could understand Rui Li being here. This was where her room was but what was his father doing here? With an arched brow, he said, "Good morning..... father," deliberately dragging the word father.

Ji Wen sighed as he said, "You are still mad at me. Fine, fine.... I will stay away from you until you stop being mad. But just so you know I will be doing business with Ah-Fei so yep... Well, I am just going to go."

The latter sentence was said with a little reluctance. He wanted Ji Yao to ask him to stay but of course, that didn't happen.

"Don't worry about me. I am just your father who cares about you..... that's all," he continued sliding in a dash of guilt-tripping but Ji Yao didn't say a word.

In his defence, he was wondering what sort of business Ji Wen could be doing with Rui Fei. Plus their family was rich from all the plundering from the nobles so what sort of business were they planning on doing?

Was his father planning on taking Rui Fei on one of his heists. Did Rui Fei want to get betrothal gifts that badly so he had no choice but to rob?

Ji Wen who had failed at his attempt to act pitiful drooped his ears and walked away slowly. He was so slow that even a turtle would walk circles around him.

This scene was incredibly sad that even Rui Li wanted to call this papa bear back and persuade her sister in law to reconcile with him. Wasn't Rui Fei fine? With all the medicine and elixirs in Old Du's hands, his bruises had already vanished like nothing happened but this papa bear was still being punished.

Rui Fei on the other hand wanted his father in law gone like yesterday. Why? That's because he didn't want their conversation about opening an adult shop to be known. He didn't know how Ji Yao would react but just in case it was negative then he didn't want him to know.

Before Ji Wen could go and have a pity party in his wife's boobs..... oh sorry I meant bosom, Ji Yao stopped him making Rui Fei's breath hitch.

"I am not mad at you. If you two like throwing hands then by all means go ahead. Just don't take things too far. Oh and don't get him drunk... it's tiring dealing with a drunk version of him," said Ji Yao pointing at the culprit.

At first, Ji Wen was happy knowing his son wasn't upset with him but when he heard the last part his face turned ugly.

Why? It was because his wife said the very same thing about him. When he gets drunk he becomes like an alpha during a susceptible period. Coupled with Ji Yao just happening to touch his waist this experienced driver figured out the truth.

That bastard of a son in law lied. His gaze shifted towards Rui Fei and he was suddenly glad that he was given a free pass to have "training" with Rui Fei.

"Since that is the case then Ah-Fei how about we carry on where we left off yesterday?"

If Rui Fei agrees to go with him then he is the stupidest man alive. There was no way in hell he was leaving with Ji Wen. Shaking his head like a rattle he said, "I have to take care of Ah-Yao."

"Why? It's not like his waist is sore or anything," said Ji Wen his expression getting darker and darker like a lightning storm was about to erupt.

The problem was not that they ahem... did it but the fact that he lied. He could also supposedly guess who bought that sexy outfit. It was this bastard right here and his son... wore that?
