They broke Rui Li again
"What are you all talking about?" asked Ji Yao staring at the two people with one who looked like he was going to pounce on the other while the other one looked like he wanted to climb over the wall and run.2
It was incredibly puzzling to him considering that Rui Fei eagerly fought with his father before. Now he looked like he wanted nothing but to run away. The answer lay in the subject matter but what was the subject matter?
"It's nothing..... just an unfortunate misunderstanding. Yao-ge, please sit," said Rui Li trying to smooth things over.
Ji Wen who had just been granted amnesty by his son couldn't start shit now. It was like re-igniting a wildfire after a month of painstakingly putting it out. For this little liar, he wasn't willing to be in the dog house again.
Ji Wen narrowed his eyes and pointed both his index and middle fingers to his eyes before redirecting them towards Rui Fei. The meaning was clear but would Rui Fei heed his warning? For Ji Wen this was merely a temporary retreat.
Rui Fei swallowed subconsciously as he watched Ji Wen's disappearing figure. He wiped away a layer of cold sweat from his forehead before walking over to Ji Yao's side.
Ji Yao who had been observing his father's every action felt a warm hand encircle his and another slide around his waist holding him in a tight embrace.
Ji Yao turned his head and stared at Rui Fei with a questioning look. "How did you offend him? Weren't you two buddy buddies last night?" he asked genuinely curious.
Last night they were embracing each other with his father bragging about his new son and now they were on each other's throats. No matter how one looked at it it was simply illogical.
Rui Fei directly ignored the question choosing to redirect the conversation. "Why are you awake already? I thought you would sleep a little longer than I would bring you something to eat," he said his deep dark eyes staring at Ji Yao with so much love and affection.
Ji Yao was successfully distracted. He was like a tamed beast completely shedding off all his quills and turning soft like tofu. With a loud muah, Ji Yao kissed Rui Fei's lips completely forgetting that they had an audience.
The kiss was unexpected and fleeting thus Rui Fei could only lean forward and beg for more. Ji Yao leaned backwards while complaining, "One was enough..... Ah-Fei, tsk..... why are you so stubborn?"
"You stole a kiss from me so naturally, I have to steal it back. Come on... I promise it will just be a light peck," said Rui Fei pressing his big arm on Ji Yao's lower back trying to prevent him from escaping.
Ji Yao was pressing his hand against Rui Fei's chest trying to stop him but his struggle was nothing more than flirtation. "Fine, fine..... one kiss," he said lifting his index finger with a smile so big it could dazzle the entire world.
Ji Yao leaned forward with their lower bodies pressed together. Rui Fei kissed Ji Yao's lips but just as Ji Yao was planning to withdraw Rui Fei's hand slid upwards and pressed the back of Ji Yao's head deepening the kiss.
Ji Yao wanted to pull away but the way those lips pressed against his and that warm tongue slipped into his mouth sparked a kind of thirst he didn't realise was there before.
He was really starting to get into it with his hand pressing Rui Fei's arm tightly when a loud thud disturbed the romantic atmosphere instantly dispelling the pink bubbles in the air.
Ji Yao pushed Rui Fei away and looked in that direction but saw no one. Rui Fei licked his swollen lip and followed behind him with a flash of disappointment in his eyes. Yes, he had played a lot last night and yes, it was incredibly satisfying but he was also greedy for his lover's body.
He was a hot blooded young man with a strong stamina so yes, most of the time he would be thinking about doing this and that to Ji Yao which includes pressing him down.
When they reached the table Ji Yao leaned over to see what was happening on the other side only to find Rui Li collapsed on the floor with her eyes wide open.
"Are you okay?" he asked but there was no response so he could only turn to Rui Fei and ask in a whisper, "Is she okay? I think we broke her again."
Rui Fei sighed before replying, "She is fine..... I think. Li-er, come on get up." As he said this he stretched out his hand to help her up but she remained motionless with her limbs spread out like she was making snow angels.
The responsible parties stared at each other for a while before Rui Fei reached over and grabbed her arm pulling her up. "I am fine Hahaha... ah, I am totally fine. If you..... if you guys need space I can make myself super scarce," she said with a squealing laugh like her brain was truly broken.
"Yes,"
"No,"
Replied both of them simultaneously. Based on their personalities it was easy to guess who answered what. Ji Yao wasn't going to allow himself to be alone with Rui Fei for the time being. Why? It was because after last night's escapades he was certain to break his back if they do it again today.
"Where is Wan Wan? Let's go have some breakfast. I heard there is a place in the imperial city with delicious dishes," said Ji Yao deliberately leading them away from any place with easy accessible privacy and beds.
Rui Fei wasn't upset at all, in fact, he was very excited because today they could at least take the opportunity to become leisurely, well, that is before the meeting between the clans where they announce their decision from the previous discussion.
Rui Yewan who had been summoned walked out of the room with a cautious appearance. He was hoping all the drama from earlier had died down otherwise he would not leave the safety of the confines of his room.
"Let's go," said Rui Fei as he draped his arm around Ji Yao's shoulders leading the way. His heart was at ease being with his most favourite people. This was the kind of happiness he could only wish for in his dreams as he lay in that cold and wet dungeon with no sunlight to speak of. But now he had finally grasped it and naturally wouldn't let it go.
The family of four left the confines of the majestic imperial palace but before they could take a step forward over the threshold, Rui Fei pulled out Ji Yao's straw hat with a veil and placed it on top of his lover's head.
"Do I really have to wear it? Who here hasn't seen my face as of yet?" said Ji Yao making a move to pull off the hat but Rui Fei took his hands into his and pulled them down.
