First love story
Rui Li's big reveal wasn't the biggest highlight of this brunch. Throwing alcohol in the mix would always lead to certain words being thrown into the universe especially when the people drinking can barely be called adults. 0
None of them were veterans like Ji Yao. Even Zhang Ci who had free access to his father's liquor cabinet all his life couldn't hold his liquor like Ji Yao. Maybe it had something to do with his genes and his father's influence that he could stand it.
As the steaming dishes were served and liquor flowed the group of youngsters who would be ruling the sea in the future became more energetic and boisterous living up to the stereotype of pirates. They weren't rich young masters from prominent families but rich plunderers under the pirate king's flag.
Zhang Ci who had had his fourth cup of wine wiped his fingertips on a napkin after tearing the flesh of the delicious Peking duck in front of him before saying, "You know..... when I first met Captain Ji I thought he was a girl. He had his back towards me sitting by the river bank. Hehehe... I tried to get his attention by throwing pebbles at him but when I finally saw his face I got the fright of my life."
Rui Fei's fingers that were caressing the side of Ji Yao's back froze with his expression turning as inky as the dark side of the moon. His menacing gaze fixed on Zhang Ci he tightened his hold on his cup till his fingertips turned white.
Rui Yewan who noticed the warm atmosphere from just now chill a few degrees spoke up, "Isn't that a bit random? Is it that you don't feel comfortable unless if you start shit?" before tilting his head backwards drinking the rest of his wine.
Zhang Ci who had been accused wrongly shook his hand with a prominent flush on his cheeks from the alcohol. He was probably tipsy that is why he poked the hornet's nest to see what comes out.
"No, no.... no one is more deserving to be with the captain than that man. With Captain Ji's temper, this comrade right here is more deserving. A mere ant like me will wilt just from a single glare coming from the captain.... Ouch!,"
The cry of pain was because someone had kicked him from under the table to signal him to stop talking but, of course, he didn't appreciate the good samaritan's kindness. He glanced down under the table and proceeded to ask, "Who?... Who kicked me? You must have a death wish."
Rui Li found this hilarious. With a suppressed chuckle she looked at Rui Yewan and whispered, "No, he must be the one tired of living."
Rui Fei had relaxed a lot when Zhang Ci acknowledged that he was the only one deserving to be with Ji Yao but after he criticized his man's temper Rui Fei's gaze got even colder. He was also well aware that his sweetheart was a firecracker but it didn't mean just anyone could talk about it. Even he would never mention his wife's temper let alone another man.
His face grew a few shades darker but the cause of it wasn't even aware that he was further entrapping himself in a pit of quicksand.
"You know even at that age Captain Ji already had a fiery temper. Because I called him an older Jiejie while throwing pebbles at him he shoved me into the river and walked away leaving me to drown."
"At that time I thought I was going to die but... lo and behold he came back for me. At first... at first, I thought I was saved by an angel. After that, it was game over... I fell in love. This man right here was my first love."
Everyone, "..."
Rui Li, "The fuck."
"Don't swear," said Rui Yewan only for his sister to fall over rolling on the ground in laughter.
"Hahahaha.... whoo..... hahahaha," she laughed her ass off. Apparently she wasn't the only one who found this amusing but none of them were as unbridled as her. They couldn't afford to laugh at this point.
Rui Fei who had had enough banged the table with his fist before he got up to beat the shit out of him. Zhang Ci could also perceive the danger so he crawled away like a cockroach hiding behind Tong Tong. Tong Tong was Ji Yao's cousin and Ji Yao wouldn't just sit and watch his cousin get beaten, right?
As expected Ji Yao held Rui Fei's wrist and pulled him down. Rui Fei instantly cooled down but his gaze was as menacing as ever. It was as though he was saying, "Watch your back from now on. You better sleep with one eye closed."
"I was merely speaking the truth. Believe me, brother, I can't and won't try and steal the Captain from you. I am not a homewrecker," explained Zhang Ci, "trust me I have already moved on."
Hearing this Shuijing almost threw her cup at him. After being pestered so much by Zhang Ci ever since they got on board Red Valkyrie she was on the verge of losing her mind.
During the little commotion, the door was suddenly slid open and one of the Qilin warriors sent by Qilin Hao entered the private room bowed before Ji Yao and handed him a letter. The faces of everyone who was hoping to see Zhang Ci get skinned alive because of his loose tongue suddenly flattened.
Considering everything that had happened it couldn't be good news. Rui Fei received the letter on Ji Yao's behalf and opened it before passing it over. The smile on Ji Yao's face chilled as he read it word for word.
It didn't take long before the Lord of the Celestials descended again just to start something.
He naively thought it would at least take a week before that weirdo showed his face again but Ji Yao was wrong. He was suddenly glad that they hadn't drunk too much otherwise he would have to find Old Du and take sobering up pills before facing that menace.
"We have to go," said Ji Yao as he got up. Rui Fei didn't ask questions. He just got up and instructed Zhang Ci to pay the bill.
Zhang Ci, "....."
QAQ..... he should never talk about other people's wives otherwise he would have to pay the price.
The four of them left the establishment and reappeared in the imperial city but only two of them could enter the main hall. That's because the Lord of the Celestials wouldn't allow it. Even Rui Fei wasn't allowed but he caused so much trouble that the celestial being was left with no choice.
After learning that he couldn't see future events he was so angry that he remained cooked up in his space going back in countless times after his body recovered a little hoping he would see something.
