In a haze, Ji Yao felt a light pressure on his lips before a warm liquid was forced down his throat. His first thought was that someone was assaulting him hence he weakly raised his hand to push the person away but because he was too vulnerable it was pointless.1

Having failed to free himself he whimpers weakly while clawing at the neck of the culprit. He thought he was dealing damage to his opponent but to Rui Fei, it was like a cat pressing its paw pads on his neck.

To calm Ji Yao he began to stroke his hair in a soothing motion. The familiarity of his action made Ji Yao relax a little. After the elixir was forced down his throat he heard Rui Fei's voice comforting him. "It's me, I am here for you..... relax my love," he spoke in a voice as entrancing as that of sirens.

Ji Yao's hand slowly fell back to his side feeling a sense of relief. This meant he didn't struggle as the second bottle of elixir was pushed down his throat.

In fact, he welcomed it and he may or may not have taken advantage of Rui Fei. His tongue might have slipped somewhere it shouldn't but Rui Fei couldn't prove it. The action was so subtle that if he was distracted he would have missed it.

"Did you?...," he asked as he moved his head back after the elixir had all gone down Ji Yao's throat but the culprit was playing possum like he had nothing to do with it.

After a short moment of silence, Rui Fei opened another bottle of healing elixir and drank it while watching Ji Yao. As the warm liquid poured down his throat he felt some of the pain wash away and his strength slowly being restored in his limbs.

He finally had enough energy to create a barrier and protect both of them from the rain. After that, he meticulously dried their robes and the ground Ji Yao was lying on. Just these simple things had him so exhausted that he took two more bottles and lay down beside Ji Yao breathing heavily.

As the healing elixir kicked in Ji Yao slowly opened his eyes. He still couldn't move much of his body but he could at least talk now. With his gaze fixed on the barrier getting hit by the heavy rain he asked, "Do.... do you think I made the right choice?" with his hand laying weakly on his chest he continued to ask, "Was I being selfish when I did this?"

Rui Fei propped up the side of his upper body with his elbow and asked, "Why would you think that," with his hand brushing Ji Yao's semi-dry hair.

Ji Yao's gaze shifted to Rui Fei and said, "I did this mostly for us..... does that make me a bad person?"

Rui Fei instantly recalled that woman's words. She had also said they did this for selfish reasons but Rui Fei honestly didn't see anything wrong with their decision. Why?

To him, anything that doesn't benefit the both of them is not worth doing. Ji Yao had grown up without his mother. His father was the one who raised him and now that he was the king of the Nocru and married to him should Ji Yao have to choose which world he wants to live in?

If he chooses to stay with his father Niuq will be without a king and if he chooses to be in Niuq he would have to face separation from his father, his home and the Concord. It's simply unfair. He had sacrificed a lot for this world and deserved a little selfishness which in Rui Fei's eyes was choosing happiness.

He took Ji Yao's hand and kissed the death symbol for the pirates of the Concord on Ji Yao's wrist. Their gazes locked Rui Fei said, "You weren't selfish. Don't ever think like that."

Hearing this Ji Yao somewhat felt a little better so he exhaled and slowly closed his eyes. Because of extreme exhaustion, he ended up falling into a deep slumber. The next time he opened his eyes he was being carried on Rui Fei's back as he walked towards the Pavilion they had been staying in.

"If we don't have a place to stay then we can go and sleep on Red Valkyrie," whispered Ji Yao with his lips brushing against the back of Rui Fei's neck. Rui Fei shuddered from the touch as a bright smile appeared on his face.

"Okay," he replied wondering why he hadn't thought of it before. There was a lot of dust and debris in the imperial city right now and he wasn't certain if where he was going would be clean enough for Ji Yao to rest.

His feet drastically changed direction as he tightened his hold on Ji Yao's legs wound around his waist and hips. After walking for a while Ji Yao spoke again, "Do you want me to gift you Red Valkyrie as a wedding gift? I heard my dad gave my mother the entire fleet including Red Bane when they got married... In truth, Qilin Hao owns all the resources of the Concord."

His words were spoken clearly but he sounded like he was as high as a kite. He was like that boyfriend who gives away his entire wealth to his girlfriend while intoxicated.

"You want my phone? I will give it to you. Even my house and car baby, I will give to you only if you marry me," says that one rich bastard trying to get a woman out of his league.

The only difference, in this case, was that Ji Yao was absolutely in Rui Fei's league. They were a perfect match in both temperament and appearance.

"I appreciate it but wasn't Red Valkyrie a gift from your parents? You can't re-gift something you were gifted," said Rui Fei with a light chuckle. This wasn't a horrible Christmas gift one could casually return to the store or re-gift to someone else. It was a gift with a sentimental attachment to it and Rui Fei knew that.

"Oh," replied Ji Yao sounding a little dejected. His hand suddenly slid underneath Rui Fei's lapel as though seeking easy access to Rui Fei's fleshy parts. "But their money is my money and I can do what, whatever I want with it. So so take Red Valkyrie, okay..... Ah, is that a raspberry? Wah, you have a raspberry in your clothes?!"

Rui Fei, "..."

"Baby, that's not a raspberry. That's my nipple," said Rui Fei with a slight tilt of his head to catch a glimpse of Ji Yao's face.

Ji Yao seemed not to hear what he said. He went as far as pinching it a couple of times. Rui Fei shuddered and almost dropped Ji Yao after being pinched thrice.

"Nah, Nah..... that's a raspberry," he said with his head dangling on Rui Fei's shoulder as though trying to take a look.

Rui Fei, "???"

"Are you sure you are okay? Are you high or something?"
