Holding on to a great thigh
The entire group of men and women across clans bowed some with reluctance others with true reverence. The ones that vowed in true reverence were too few in numbers when compared to the entire group. 1
That's because Ji Yao was a Qilin and the fact that their generation and several generations before that hadn't been under a king's rule ever. The only persons they respected were their clan leaders and no one else.
Now that there was someone who could suppress them without even lifting a finger it was quite unsettling. When the power holding them down vanished they raised their heads and were about to further admonish Ji Yao when they found that their voices wouldn't come out.
This punishment only applied to the ones vocal against Ji Yao. He didn't want to listen to them if anything that would come out of their mouths was criticism and anger. He really wasn't in the mood to have this discussion.
Their eyes widened as they stared at each other making throaty and humming sounds but it was futile. Ji Yao got down to the ground with Rui Fei's help. Their feet landed in front of Huishe Nan who was still a little worried for Rui Fei.
Now that his other nature had been exposed he was worried that they would prosecute him and they would be some sort of uprising. Huishe Xiyue held Rui Fei's face as soon as he came back to the ground her face panicked.
"Do you know how dangerous what you did was? You scared the crap out of me," she said checking if he was okay, "if you feel uncomfortable please tell me."
The Kunpeng whose power was sucked out of him, "...."
The person who everyone should be worried about was himself not that monster. He almost died for heaven's sake.
"Now that everyone knows or will know soon you can't walk out of the clan by yourself," said Huishe Nan forgetting that technically his grandson now had a husband who was basically like the god of Niuq.
Ji Yao was feeling much better and took a deep breath before saying, "You don't have to worry. He will stay by my side and nothing would happen to him."
The Huishe family, "...."
How could they forget that Rui Fei was holding on to the thigh of this great buddha? No one would dare lay a finger on him and even if they tried they wouldn't succeed. In fact, it would be at the cost of their lives.
Hearing Ji Yao's proclamation Rui Fei smiled and wished he could kiss those soft lips that could spout such sweet words. The dissatisfaction from being left alone to deal with his hardness suddenly vanished.
To show his love in a way that won't invite trouble for Ji Yao he pressed his fingertips into the man's waist that he had wrapped around his arm. Ji Yao who had been looking at Huishe Nan suddenly turned his head and smiled at Rui Fei.
"Uncle Yue, I am going to pay a visit to the hall of kings in Niuq so may I trouble you to stay with the Concord and help repair the damage?" said Ji Yao shifting his gaze towards Huishe Yue who was standing with Lan Wu on his side.
He knew that Huishe Yue would be obligated to follow his father which also meant Lan Wu would go as well but he wasn't certain how well-received half breed would be in Niuq. He didn't want anything to happen to Lan Wu.
Huishe Yue naturally understood what he meant but he didn't think Ji Yao would be this generous. That's because when Ji Yao suppressed them with his aura of a king it was especially domineering making it extremely difficult to imagine that this person would be benevolent.
Normally Ji Yao was compassionate but that kingly aura made one forget his true nature. "I, I will stay here," he replied while subconsciously reaching his hand behind him to hold Lan Wu's hand.
Ji Yao smiled before saying, "Once this matter is over I will make sure that the two of you get unified before we do." This was his way of thanking Huishe Yue for accepting Rui Fei for who he truly was from the moment they met.
Some people would have directed their resentment towards the innocent soul that is a product of the person who brutally raped and murdered their relative. But Huishe Yue accepted Rui Fei from day one and showed him the love of kinship which was incredible.
Huishe Yue tightened his grasp on Lan Wu's hand his smile as dazzling as the starry night. He nodded his head while saying, "I would greatly appreciate it."
But Rui Fei wasn't as appreciative. Why did his uncle have to get married before he did? That was a little unfair considering the two-year deadline. Despite this, he couldn't say anything, well, at least not here.
Perceiving Rui Fei's dissatisfaction Huishe Yue smirked before sticking out his tongue. Well, if the smirk didn't provoke the bear sticking his tongue definitely did. Rui Fei rushed over to his uncle and of course, the two of them played a game of you chase and I catch you.
Huishe Xiyue looked at these two and couldn't help but smile. With her arms folded across her chest, she leaned in closer to her mother and said, "This is better than being an immortal."
What she meant was compared to her life as a celestial being which was boring and uneventful, this was what she wanted. She wanted to be with her family as it brought forth indescribable joy and fulfilment that being a celestial couldn't. This was why she jumped on the chance to go back home rather than stay in the celestial realm.
Huishe Shushi smiled in response as she watched her son and grandson tussle. While that showdown was happening Qilin Hao showed up behind Ji Yao and said, "We will go with you too. You need as much backup as possible."
Ji Yao turned to look at them and didn't refute. The only problem was that the 'we' in this situation included his father whom he wasn't comfortable with going to Niuq. Compared to those pure bloods his father was considered weak which was worrying.
