"I thought it would be as simple as getting a crown and then people bow, end of story," chimed in Ji Wen who despite being king of the seas for years didn't even have a crown.

"Don't forget the feast then followed with him choosing an empress. Apparently, things here work differently ," said Qilin Hao who never had the opportunity to study the history of kings in Niuq.

That's because her father had full control over what she could learn and what she couldn't. He was very well deserving of the worst father of the year award.

"He won't need to choose his empress because he already has one," said Rui Fei feeling a little proud.

Ji Yao smiled happily like he didn't have the weight of two worlds resting on his shoulders. With the slight turn of his wrist, he released powerful energy stemming from the deepest part of his aether and as it slowly left his body it was sucked in by that pedestal.

One minute, two minutes, three minutes nothing happened as his seraphic energy kept leaving his body. Everything was fine in the first minute but after that, it began to take a toll on Ji Yao's body.

His forehead was soon covered in sweat and his aetherial veins that shouldn't show through his skin were now glowing like neon lights showing the energy escaping his body.

Rui Fei wanted to touch him and stop him from hurting himself but he was blocked by Huishe Nan. "Don't..... trust the process otherwise the consequences will be dire."

Ji Yao bore it for a long time but after the fourth minute, he let go. This process was so painful even more painful than when he dissolved that barrier. The difference stemmed from the fact that this pain was coming from his aether, not physical pain.

The hall fell silent for a second as Rui Fei helped Ji Yao up. They had been expecting some sort of explosion or something along the lines but nothing happened after that.

An eerie silence spread across the land prompting different reactions among the people. Some felt fear, others felt excited while others were dying from anticipation.

"Nothing is happening? Did something.....," said Rui Yewan but before he could even finish his sentence a bright red flame with electric sparks dancing around it burst forth on the pedestal.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A series of explosions exceeding six followed afterwards as the pedestals in the clans burst with powerful flames with lightning sparks twirling around them.

Because in some clans they had several other pedestals which were linked to the one connected to the mainline coming from the city of kings they all also lit up announcing to Niuq the awakening of a new king.
