Handing down a vedict

It was indeed a purely consensual relationship that he thought might blossom into something great. It's a shame that he even imagined himself living in a remote part of Niuq making it their paradise but the night this union occurred she vanished like Cinderella after getting some. 0

As the hall fell into silence he couldn't help but recall how he felt at that time. Having someone run away from you after your first night was a little depressing. There is a great feeling of inadequacy that rises in your chest. He felt that way for a long time.

Instead of dealing with these feelings like a normal person, he ended up projecting that feeling toward the Huishe clan especially Huishe Yue for putting Wei Wei in this situation in the first place.

This is why when he stumbled upon the injured Huishe Yue he was especially harsh and had him locked up for five decades. Ever since he found out the truth about the matter he had been feeling a little regretful. He couldn't even begin to imagine how hard it was for Huishe Yue both physically and mentally to be locked underneath that dungeon.

"Go on..... explain in detail how you two met and how this progressed to the part where your son ended up being raised in the Huishe clan," said Ji Yao with his clenched fist propping up his head and his elbow resting on the armrest.

This is the part about being King that he didn't like. In the future, he would have to judge conflicts between clans which at the thought of it was extremely tiring.

As Qilin Kai retold the entire story and even produced a love token specific to the Pixiu clan the crowd became even more convinced. That's because the token couldn't be robbed or snatched. It wasn't valuable because it was handmade.

This meant that Wei Wei had made this for Qilin Kai and gifted it to him. Apparently, Wei Wei made two love tokens and gifted one to each man. She started her own harem without informing the parties involved. If I am going to be a part of a harem I should at least give my consent or be in the know, right?

Ji Yao looked at the azure stone carved into a flaming bird and he couldn't help but ask to see it. Qilin Kai handed it to Qilin Luse who in turn gave it to Ji Yao.

"I don't want it anymore.... you can do whatever with it," said Qilin Kai avoiding Wei Wei's line of sight. She looked like she was hurt by his words but he vowed to never look at her ever again.

Instead, it was Tong Tong who couldn't help but glance over in her direction because of their ties as mother and son.

But even then it was just a glance. He felt it was a bit unfortunate that things ended this way. Like his grandfather, he had also hoped that they could get past this that is until she tried to convince him that the Huishe never treated him as one of their own.

She told him the reason why she never wanted him to be around them was because when he was a baby her grandmother hit him at some point. Tong Tong couldn't even hear the rest it because he already knew why she tried to stop him from seeing his grandparents.

It was because she was afraid he might awaken in their presence and exhibit traits of a Qilin which wouldn't give her and him enough time to flee the clan.

After she said this Tong Tong knew for certain that she was a lost cause. He could only hope she would get the help she needs.

Ji Yao passed on the token at the Pixiu clan leader and said, "Confirm if it was one of yours." From this, he came to understand that the rock was unique to the Pixiu clan and that there were traces of his daughter's seraphic energy in it.

It was kind of a cool tradition that tempted Ji Yao into carving one for him and one for Rui Fei but recalling how his sweetheart was avoiding him like he was avoiding covid, Ji Yao took this idea back.

Seeing the Pixiu clan leader nod his head in agreement Ji Yao came back to himself and asked Wei Wei if she wanted to say anything in her defence. Of course, whatever was going to come out of her mouth was obviously going to be absolute crap but she had a right to be heard.

When that sock was pulled out of her mouth by one of the Huishe warriors (I pity that person by the way), she didn't immediately speak. Instead, she let out a heartbreaking cry that would stir up the hearts of many.

Unfortunately, even the kindest hearted person in the audience couldn't come up with some sort of spin-off that could help justify this person's actions.

Was it because of love, out of regret or maybe it was the prestige she was after? Nothing didn't seem to make sense unless maybe she had unaddressed issues with her mental health.

This is indeed a serious problem by the way that needs to be tended to. But for one to get the help they need they at least need to admit they do need help otherwise if one remains in denial it won't do good for the parties that are involved.

Ji Yao could tell something was wrong with Wei Wei's way of thinking but it wasn't his place to involve himself. That was up to the Pixiu clan.

The only thing he was responsible for was facilitating the final divorce. Just when Ji Yao thought that she was going to cry in her defence instead of using her words. He was about to go on with it when she finally spoke.

"I.....," she mumbled before her brittle voice suddenly returned to normal and her expression calm like she wasn't wailing like a professional paid mourner at a funeral just a few seconds ago.

Her voice as blank as a slate she wiped away her tears and proceeded to say, "I didn't like Qilin Kai. He was just that one fling I had before getting married... I mean come on, he had the bad boy vibes and it was thrilling having someone pursue me for once."
