Ji Yao raised his hand and the sword that was still on someone's throat rushed over and the moment he grasped it he swung it at Wei Wei.

A pure white beam shot out of the sword and slashed across her chest but what it cut wasn't her flesh but the entanglement between the two fragments of seraphic energy in her aether.

Caught unaware she wailed but it was pointless. From this point henceforth she had no connection to Huishe Yue.

"Is that how it's done?" asked Ji Yao directing the question towards Huishe Nan.

Huishe Nan was speechless. He raised his finger a little hesitant to answer his question. "Not exactly but it did do the job," he replied wondering how much pain Wei Wei was in right now.

The pain was equivalent to unexpectedly losing your loved one but even more amplified. There was surely a better way of doing this but this would do.

"Okay, then does your clan want to punish her or should I just hand her down one myself?" asked Ji Yao and from his expression, one could clearly tell he wasn't in a good mood. He was probably angry about something or someone.

"We, we will expel her from our clan. You don't, don't have to do that part," said Huishe Shushi as she drew a dagger from who knows where. And no she wasn't going to cut her heart out and feed it to the dogs though her expression seemed like she would.

She coldly gripped her hair which had an old braid pattern for married women in the Huishe clan and cut it all off in one swoop before tossing it on the ground. Soon the knotted strands of hair began to disintegrate into a black fog until there was nothing left.

That was the fine work of Huishe Nan supporting his wife. "Pixiu Wei..... under the rules of the Huishe clan and in front of all these witnesses I hereby banish you out of our clan. You will leave with only the clothes on your back. If found anywhere near the Huishe clan you will be killed on sight for trespassing."

Hearing this Ji Yao couldn't help but feel that it was a bit harsh but considering what she had done it was a miracle they did nothing worse to her.

"Now that's done..... Huishe Tong's name will be officially changed to Qilin Tong. If there is nothing else we have a wedding to attend," said Ji Yao just ready to end this drama.

After all that, he needed something to put him in a better mood. He needed to read one of Rui Li's books just so that he can cure his shaken heart. In truth, what he really wanted was a hug from Rui Fei but since that wasn't going to happen then he might as well read a novel with a happy ending while stuffing his face with sweet cakes.

As soon as Ji Yao got up everyone bowed respectfully. A few people followed behind him but he didn't expect one of them to be Huishe Xiyue. She hastily walked beside him and tried to start a conversation without being too direct.

"Thank you," she said but Ji Yao was perplexed with his brows arched. "For that, I mean.... Thank you."

"There is no need for thanks. It's what I should do. I see both Lan Wu and Huishe Yue as my uncles and I am willing to do anything to help them."

Huishe Xiyue smiled but soon she found that she didn't know how to say the words that had been stuck in her throat like a chicken bone. After gathering some courage she said, "That.... about Ah-Fei. Please don't be mad at him. He is probably up to something and he just doesn't want you to know yet."

That brat now had his mother speaking for him? He couldn't wait to get his hands on him.
