Pokemon master of tactics: Chapter 215 (Bonus Chapter)

3 days later.1

Alex and his Pokémon were in the starting area of the mountain chain.

The Mt. Moon mountain chain was enormous and had many directions from which Alex could enter.

In addition, this mountain chain can lead to other mountain chains that have hardly been explored and are generally considered very dangerous.

You can even get to the Johto region via this mountain chain if you know the way.

Of course, this route is more dangerous for regular people and unsuitable for normal travelers.

Even Elite trainers would usually choose to avoid this path because of the unknown danger that lies there.

Of course, before he decided to train and look for treasures there, Alex acquired a lot of information about this vast area.

It was precisely because of this information he had bought from a Team Rocket Captain that he wanted to climb this mountain.

According to the Team Rocket Captain's team, they discovered a cave that had many diamonds. Unfortunately, this cave was occupied by several Elite Pokémon, so he could only take 1 or 2 diamonds before they were discovered and had to flee.

Alex gave this Team Rocket Captain an extra half a million to provide him the exact location of this cave and not to sell this information to anyone else.

He wasn't afraid that this Team Rocket Captain had lied to him or would try to sell this information to others. Only a stupid person would do that. Of course, that doesn't mean that there are not any dumb people in this world. But if one is in Team Rocket, you can expect a little bit of common sense from him. And even if he doesn't keep his promise, Alex can still make use of that situation. He will make an example out of him so that others don't get any wrong ideas in the future.

If Alex gives just a word about his cheating to Lisa, it would only take just a few moments to officially kill him. It is but a quick method to kill him if he doesn't want to dirty his hands. If he doesn't want to clarify his reasons officially, he can always use another way to kill someone.

Also, if the Team Rocket finds a member guilty, there is no way out except Giovanni personally intervenes. The punishment of cheating on a person with a higher rank for such a large sum of money is the death penalty.

Alex believes that a Team Rocket Captain understands such things, so this information has negligible chance to be false.

Although several Elite Pokémon sound very dangerous, the Team Rocket Captain said that he had only seen Low-Elite, which means that Alex's group with a good strategy can probably defeat these Pokémon.

The Elite Pokémon below level 50 are called Low-Elite since it makes it easier for the trainer to distinguish the strengths of Elite Pokémon.

In contrast to the transition to Elite and Champion-rank, the increase in strength from a level 49 to a level 50 Pokémon is just like any other level-up improvement. There is no major power-up if you become Mid-Elite from Low-Elite. These names are just for the sake of ease of understanding the level range.

The greatest and most apparent power jump is when a Pokémon reaches the Elite level and Champion level, making the Pokémon several times stronger than before.

As they were treading carefully in the forest, Crobat warned that another Pokémon is nearby and is in front of their path.

Alex gave his Pokémon a silent signal that they should be vigilant and began leading them to this Pokémon that Crobat had discovered.

When Gardevoir was close enough, she was able to roughly perceive the strength of the Pokémon without seeing it. She immediately shared this information with Alex.

She told Alex that this Pokémon is not yet an Elite Pokémon and is similar in strength to Combusken.

Alex, who heard how this Pokémon was hardly a threat, started walking towards it.

After less than 30 seconds, he found an Exeggutor in an open area sunbathing with a relaxed expression.

Although Exeggutor is a Psychic-type Pokémon and should have perceived Alex's group, he didn't, even though they were only 70 meters away.

Alex believed that it was due to Gardevoir being an Elite Psychic-type Pokémon that it was so easy for Alex's group to sneak up on this Exeggutor.

This reminded Alex how Crobat could get very close to a Zubat and kill it unnoticed because it could manipulate the sound waves of the Zubat.

This was only possible because Crobat was much stronger than him, allowing him to be totally invisible to the Zubat.

Zubat noticed Crobat when he was only a few meters away, which shows that the Alex group was very likely to be detected if it gets closer.

The level certainly plays a role in Alex's group not being discovered, but that's not the only reason.

If a Pokémon is in such a laid-back position like this Exeggutor, it is easier to sneak up on it.

Alex looked at the info of this Exeggutor, and a smile indicating future fortune appeared on his face.

------------------------

Although a normal Silver Pokémon doesn't impress Alex, this Exeggutor was a special case. Alex believed that this Exeggutor alone could sell for more than 1 million.

There were 2 main reasons why this Silver Pokémon would fetch so much more than all other Silver Pokémon that Alex had previously sold.

First, the Exeggutor species is rare and is already gets sold for a high price. While not as rare as Dragon-type Pokémon, it was one of the rarer Pokémon species of Kanto.

The second reason is that the this good Innate Talent move increase the price unbelievably high.

Many trainers are willing to pay many times the original price for a Pokémon that have certain Innate Talent moves.

'An A-rank Exeggutor with three perfect Innate Talents moves should be quite uncommon,' thought Alex as he looked at Exeggutor.
