Evening The Odds
The Outlander had his glowing eyes narrowed at me as he levitated above the ground in an imposing manner. He snapped his fingers and I could instantly hear the sound of growling, along with a separate set of heavy footsteps.1
On the other side of the arena, a giant man walked out of a dark tunnel with a wolf nearly the same size as him. The man was bare-chested, metal gauntlets strapped to his arms and a shield wrapped around his large belly that had definitely seen better days, along with some protection for his head. He also carried a massive sword with him in a two-handed grip, which had three protruding spikes on the end of the blade to top it all off.
This was Zark Tuskbreath, the skull-crushing Giant.
(The picture of the Giant's appearance will be here.)
The wolf, on the other hand, was a much different story. It's teeth were razor sharp just like it's claws, thick black fur encompassing it's entire body, but there was also crying eyes everywhere you looked. The liquid coming out of the eyes wasn't water either, but some type of dangerous poison.
This was Acheros, the weeping Wolf.

I looked back towards the Outlander, who now had his hand raised and pointed towards the sky. He had opened a rift in the sky that looked identical to the one that brought me here. "You see that, boy? It's your only way out... too bad you won't be able to leave."
Clenching my fists in anger, I scowled at him. "You said that if I survived whatever you threw at me, you would let me go!" The Outlander began to close the rift, a harsh ferocity within his tone of voice that erased any hope I had of escaping.
"I lied."

~Dante's POV~
When the rift had opened up in front of us, I told the girls to go outside and find Jada, who would take care of the rest.
I was alone now, staring at the rift that was practically begging for me to go through. Once I did, there would be no telling if I could even come back, but I was certain that this is where Darren had been taken.
Fuck it.
My body erupted into flames before I even jumped through the rift, the signature characteristics of a Pyronite overtaking my human side and turning me into something else entirely. The first thing I realized as I fell through the air was that a massive colosseum had been built on a floating island, which also happened to be packed with... people? I wasn't sure about the last part.
However, I did notice Darren in the middle of it all, and that was all I needed to see before I divebombed towards the ground. It looked like he was being pit against two different opponents, which seemed a little unfair.
Well, I guess it's a good thing he has backup then.

~Darren's POV~
I looked towards the sky when I saw the Outlander snap his head up at the rift, curious as to what made him react like that. My eyes widened when they landed on some kind of demon falling through the air, presumably coming from the same rift in the sky.
"What the hell is that...?" I muttered to myself in confusion. The being made of fire reeled a fist back as he got closer towards the ground, aiming straight for the giant.

~Dante's POV~
"INCOMING, FUCKFACE!" I screamed at the top of my lungs, my fist slamming into the giant's ugly face so hard it's body lifted off the ground and barreled into the weeping wolf, which launched them both into a wall and nearly destroyed it.
After that, I roughly landed onto the ground and rolled a couple times before finally stopping. Quickly standing back up, I dusted myself off even though there wasn't any dirt on me and looked towards Darren.
His face was priceless.
"Please tell me you're on my side." Darren breathed, appearing mentally exhausted with everything that's already happened. I nodded in confirmation and couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
He raised an eyebrow at that, which I noticed.
I thought about telling him who I really was before deciding against it, instead turning towards the weird alien. From the way Darren's eyes lingered on me, I knew he was confused with my behavior, but I didn't pay it much attention.
"Are you the one behind all of this?" I asked. With the way I could literally feel a faint aura of power coming from him, I was pretty certain of it already. The question was only meant for confirmation.
The Outlander nodded. "You would be correct. I am the god of this world and you will address me as such. Now, what are you doing here?" He spoke, a tone of arrogance laced within his voice.
I rolled my eyes, not that anyone could really tell, and sighed in annoyance. "First of all, I will never do that, and second... I'm here to even the odds."
"I see. No matter, it will not change anything in the end because neither of you are leaving either way." He said, not convinced that me being here would affect the outcome.
Narrowing my eyes, I stood next to Darren as we readied ourselves. The oversized wolf was back on all fours, viciously growling at us while the giant began to walk in our direction with his sword raised, intent on slicing the two of us down.
"Think you'd be able to take the giant? Whatever is coming out on those eyes on that wolf's body won't affect me due to what I'm made of so that gives me an advantage against it."
Darren simply nodded, taking a few steps back. He began to surround himself with a thick blanket of darkness before rushing towards the burly giant, a pair of shadowy daggers held in each hand.
The giant didn't react to his attacks even when it began to bleed from it's newly made wounds, which caused Darren to switch tactics and try to go around the back, attempting to climb towards it's head and neck area.
That proved to be somewhat difficult when the giant kept swinging his massive bladed weapon around, not to mention the fact that it was like three to four times bigger than Darren in size.
As I watched their fight, I noticed the giant never reacted when it was supposed to be hurt from an attack, which led me to believe that it didn't possess the ability to feel pain. That was... odd.
Redirecting my attention, I focused on the wolf that was eyeing me with a bloodthirsty look in it's eyes. Err... yeah, all of them, I guess. However, even when it appeared ferocious and ready to kill, it still had that sorrowful aura surrounding it.
The weeping wolf lunged forward, it's mouth stretched wide open so that it could take a big chunk out of me. I jumped over it's body with a jet-like propulsion, a burst of flames on the bottom of my feet allowing me to effortlessly soar above my opponent. It was a good thing that I essentially got an info dump anytime I unlocked an alien and used it for the first time, which allowed me to understand their capabilities much easier than if I were to do it without any information at all.
Also, I don't think this wolf is gonna like how I taste if it ever sinks it's teeth into me...
I'm a tad bit overcooked.
