A Divine Intervention
~Nobody's POV~0
Heavy rain pelted the window as Dante slept soundly under the covers on his bed, chest rising and falling with each breath he took in his sleep.
The sound of thunder cracking in the sky outside just relaxed his body even further, which is the instant a being of higher power appeared inside of the bedroom, crouching down to his eye level so that she could set a gentle hand on his cheek.
She admired his perfect facial features for a while before leaning forward, affectionately placing a kiss on his forehead. There was a subtle glow that occurred as it happened, slowly dying down a couple seconds later.
The woman stood back up and walked over to the other side of the room, creating a small envelope out of thin air before silently putting it on his desk.
After that, she disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Dante continued to sleep throughout the entire night, completely unaware that someone had been inside of his room until the next time he woke up.

~Dante's POV~
I had gone through my morning routine just like any other day, brushing my teeth and taking a shower, the usual. However, an unfamiliar envelope that sat on my desk had caught my attention.
From one of the many drawers at my desk, I grabbed a letter opener and unsealed the flap before pulling out the paper that was hidden within. I plopped down onto the chair at my desk and began to read the message inside of my head.
'The Chosen One,
I have been closely watching you since the very beginning, which has been fascinating to witness, to say the least. I have also decided that now is the right time for you to be given a special gift.
By the time you see this letter, I have already gone to the extent of unlocking the ability. If you perhaps did not notice it, there is a unique stone inside of the envelope as well. Once you pick it up, a basic understanding of your newfound power will be inserted into your brain.
Kind regards,
God'
"... What the fuck?"
I sat in my chair, blankly staring at the letter even after I was finished reading it. My mind was trying to process all of what was said inside of the letter, at least until my eyes landed on the very last word that was written down.
"This has to be a fucking joke. There's no way-" I cut myself off, setting the piece of paper down onto the desk and gave it some actual thought. Esther wasn't the type of person to do something like this and neither was David, considering he and I barely conversed with each other to begin with.
Well, I didn't really have anything to say after that.
However, it brought up another thought, which was about the first part of the letter. They specifically called me 'The Chosen One' and I wasn't sure what to think of that either.
The name implies that I'm predestined for something. At least, that's how I interpreted it, and that slightly worried me.
I grabbed the envelope once again before turning it upside down, which caused the stone that was talked about in the letter to fall out onto my desk. It was a simple white color, but didn't appear like anything special from where I was sitting in my chair.
Right as I picked it up is when the info dump occurred, which seemed to drain the energy out of the stone as it slowly became a slate gray color instead.
"Oh my god." I whispered to myself, shocked that I would be given an ability like this.
Alright, the idea that it was God seemed to be a little easier to digest now.
"World travel... that's fucking crazy. Not only that, but the fact that time will be stopped for everybody is hard to comprehend. So, if I were to leave and then come back years later, a second wouldn't have even passed here."
I was still hesitant on doing it.
On the other hand, I was keen on experiencing what an entirely different world would be like.
Sitting in my chair for around an hour, I continued to fight a back and forth battle within my head about actually going through with it.
Finally, a decision was made.
I decided that I was going to do it, and once I eventually returned, it would be to an early morning where I would stay at home and spent some quality time with Esther.
Taking a deep breath, I stood up and closed my eyes, directing all of my focus to activating the world traveling ability.
Everything was pitch black before green circuitry-like stripes began appearing everywhere, which reminded me of certain aspects within my mindscape. At least, that's what my Pyronite counterpart told me the void that we always met up in was called.
A couple seconds later and a screen appeared, displaying the activation of my new ability.
[World Travel Activated!]
It continued by showing me quite a long list of worlds that I could apparently go to, which was mind-blowing to see with my own eyes. They seemed to have different descriptions right below their names and it felt like a lot of them came from straight out of a fantasy.
Meh, it's not like I can talk.
I kept scrolling until my eyes eventually landed on a world that caught my interest.
[World Name: Highschool of the Dead!]
[World Synopsis: An infection breaks out that turns people into zombie-like creatures.]
When I saw the name, I just automatically assumed that it was a fantasy. However, I didn't let that stop me from making this the first world that I would be going to.
I didn't want to start out with anything too difficult, after all.
[Are you sure?]
With a quick mental tap of a button, my vision went black and my body proceeded to fade away until there was nothing left.
--------------------------------------------------
It felt odd traveling to a different world simply because I didn't really feel anything, which was to be expected since my body literally disappeared when it happened. My sensory perception slowly came back to me while my body reformed, and the ability to see was one of the first things that started working again.
When my eyes opened, the first thing that I saw was a ceiling. I was laying on a very comfortable bed, which I knew wasn't mine. At least, that's what I originally thought.
I quickly perked up when someone let out a yawn right next to me, causing my head to turn in their direction, which I'm glad I did because of the wonderful sight that my eyes were blessed with.
It was a short young girl with long pink hair, rubbing her eyes as she reached for her glasses, which were sitting nearby on the bed as well. However, that wasn't the best part, but instead the fact that she was currently showing me a very generous amount of cleavage in her green tank top. Not only that, but I also got a small peek at the cute ass she had, which was mostly covered by white and blue striped panties.
(The picture of her appearance will be here.)
I couldn't stop myself from staring just a bit longer, trying my hardest to memorize every detail so that I wouldn't forget it anytime soon.
She eventually got ahold of her glasses, sliding them onto the bridge of her nose, which somehow made her look even cuter. Her brown eyes met my hazel orbs and I tried my best to act normal but it proved difficult when I suddenly found myself in an unfamiliar bed with a complete stranger.
What she said next almost made me choke on the oxygen that I had just inhaled.
"Hey... did you sleep good, big bro?"
