Making A Friend
By the time I had woken up, the sunlight coming through one of the windows in my bedroom was now a pinkish color, which meant I had slept for at least a few hours.1
I quickly got up and out of bed before walking towards the closet that was halfway open on the other side of the room, stretching my arms in the process. Pulling the door all the way open, I immediately noticed the amount of clothes that were actually in here.
It was a lot.
While there was expensive clothes put into the mix, God must've tampered with this as well, considering the fact that there were also clothes that I liked to wear on a daily basis.
I grabbed a pair of black boxers and matching colored basketball shorts, along with a dark green hoodie, discarding everything onto the floor so that I could change into a more comfortable outfit.
Pulling out my phone and checking the contacts list, I saw that there was a few new numbers, which just so happened to include Saya's and Yuriko's. I had decided to look and see in case anything popped off while I was outside of the mansion. It really seems like God took care of everything.
Well, that's convenient.
Making my way out of the bedroom, I closed the door behind me and found the stairs before walking down into the entrance hall. That's where my eyes landed on Yuriko and a small group of working men. They were carrying a bunch of stuff into another part of the house and I just automatically assumed that it was a rich people thing.
"Hey, Yuriko..." I trailed off, waiting for her to turn around.
The older woman did just that, pleasantly surprised to see her surrogate son as she gave me a pretty smile. "Well, look who's finally up and walking around. I thought you were going to sleep through the whole day, young man!" She huffed, crossing her arms in a cute manner.
I instinctually looked at her breasts, which had been accentuated due to her actions, and the woman noticed my quick glance. Her smile grew in size but she decided not to point out the fact that she had caught me looking at her prominent assets.
"Anyways... I'm gonna go to the coffee shop that Saya was telling me about earlier. I just want to go relax somewhere, you know?" I told her, but she frowned in response. The mature woman came closer, setting her hands onto my shoulders in concern.
"Is everything okay? You know you can tell me anything, Dante." Yuriko whispered so that nobody else could hear our conversation.
I nodded, surprised that she asked such a question.
She suddenly pulled me into her warm embrace before gently patting my head. "I know it's been hard for you... since your parents died in that car crash. However, I want you to know that they both loved you very much and are proud of the man that you have become."
Oh... that's why. She must've thought that I was depressed or something. The memories were definitely there, it's just that I didn't really have the emotional attachment to them either. I apparently had parents in this world that died from a hit and run car crash, instantly killed by a drunk driver at night.
It's actually a fairly common thing, which is sad as fuck to think about.
It also reminded me of the child that I saved from being killed by a drunk driver, although the man died as a result.
To be honest, I didn't really feel any remorse about that one.
Wrapping my arms around Yuriko's slim waist, I looked up at her from the spot that my head was resting, which just so happened to be her cleavage. "While I thank you for the last part, you've got it all wrong. I just want to find a spot so that I can relax for a bit. You know, it'll be like how some kids have an area they hangout at after school... I'm glad to know that you worry about me, though."
Yuriko sighed in relief, releasing a small laugh afterwards. "Oh, I'm sorry for not understanding then. It's just that I know something like that can be traumatic, especially to someone at such a young age, and so I was worried about how you were dealing with it."
I smiled at that, a feeling of warmth coursing through my chest. "It's okay, I mean it. I feel like its a good thing that you show genuine concern, especially since we don't even share the same blood. I mean, there's probably a lot of parents who would just nod and let me walk out that door without saying a word to me. I actually think you're a great mother and that you deserve much more love and attention than what has been given to you by your neglectful husband."
Silence.
Her eyes were wide, mouth agape, and she was staring at me as if I had suddenly grown a second head. Perhaps I shouldn't have said that last part-
Yuriko grabbed my face before leaning down, which is when her luscious lips made contact with mine for a brief second. She quickly pulled away and turned her head to the side, a red tint to her face, and I couldn't help but admire her beauty as I stepped out of the woman's embrace.
"Erm... sorry about that-" I began to say until Yuriko cut me off, a gentle smile on her face as she seemed to have regained her composure.
"... Thank you, Dante. That was very nice of you to say. I really needed to hear it too." The sexy milf said, a slight giggle slipping out as she covered her mouth. It was like she had just switched her identity or something at the drop of a dime.
"Y-Yeah, no problem. I truly meant it." I nodded, kind of thrown off by the switch in her personality, but I didn't dwell on it for too long.
The older woman stared at me with a strange look in her eyes before she began to walk away, a very hypnotic sway to her hips. "Thank you, honey. Be careful on your trip."
I stood in the middle of the entrance hall, still looking in the direction that Yuriko went before shaking off my daze and making my way out of the mansion.
That was weird.
--------------------------------------------------
A chime rang out as I walked into the little coffee shop, which was called Mugshot. I thought it was pretty clever but I wasn't really familiar with these types of places either. It actually wasn't that busy here and that surprised me because of how many people that I know love coffee.
I would've figured it was going to be packed, to be honest.
However, I was glad that it wasn't as I greeted the person behind the counter, who proceeded to ask me what I wanted. I eventually decided on a smoothie, which was given to me a few seconds later. My eyes landed on a booth in the corner next to a window and I quickly made my way over, taking a seat as I pulled my hood up.
I sat in the booth, looking through the glass for about an hour, which is around the time that it started to rain pretty heavily. It was also dark outside now.
Across the street, I spotted a young girl that had stopped moving on the sidewalk. She was just standing there completely motionless, looking up at the sky as the heavy rain began to soak through her clothes.
After a while, I stood up and left the coffee shop, making my way across the street towards the girl standing in the rain. Once she was just a few inches away from me, I double tapped her bare shoulder, which caused the girl to turn around and face me.
She wore a lavender top that left the arms naked, two buttons on the chest area that were undone and revealed a small bit of cleavage. It was also fairly tight, sticking to her body as it had been soaked from the rain, and it showed a glimpse of the black bra underneath. The color of her skirt matched the bra, which was followed by a pair of black sneakers that concluded the outfit. She also had a bokken with her.
Her hair was a distinct shade of purple and the pair of eyes it was slightly covering were blue. All things considered, she definitely looked unique and stuck out like a sore thumb.
(The picture of her appearance will be here.)
"Hey, are you okay? You've been standing out here for like five minutes."
She blinked in surprise, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear before responding. "Ah... yes, I'm fine. I was simply enjoying the rain. It is quite relaxing."
I nodded in agreement before sticking one of my hands out, which held the extra smoothie I had bought just for her. "Yeah, I feel the same way... here, this is for you."
Her eyes widened, caught off guard by the sudden gift. She instinctually took it from my hand before voicing the question running through her mind.
"Why would you give this to someone like me?"
I frowned at that, taken aback by the loaded question. It seemed like she had some kind of issue going on inside of her head.
"I don't know what that's supposed to mean. However, to answer your inquiry, I did it because it looked like you needed someone to talk to. I didn't know how else to approach you without just seeming like a weirdo... and I'm not even sure I succeeded with the face you're currently making."
Her face had turned into a stoic mask, which quickly changed once I had decided to point out the fact. I sighed in an overdramatic fashion, hoping that it would somehow cheer her up, and it surprisingly did.
The girl let out a little giggle, which brought a smile to my face as a result.
"I'm Dante. It's nice to meet you."
She proceeded to do a respectful bow, which I wasn't really expecting. "My name is Saeko Busujima and it's nice to meet you as well. I was actually on my way home before I... well, you know."
I chuckled to myself, nodding in confirmation. "If that's the case, would you care if I walked you home? It won't bother me if you say no, so please don't feel like you have to say yes or something."
Saeko appeared to give it some thought for a moment before nodding her head, turning around so that she could resume her path home. "Sure, I don't mind. The company would be appreciated."
My eyes lit up as I walked right next to her, striking up a conversation that lasted us the entire walk back to her house.
After that, we kept in touch by exchanging phone numbers. I was proud of myself, considering the fact that I had made a friend on the first day in a new world.
She was pretty cute as well, which was a nice bonus.
