It's Finally Going To Happen

A few months quickly passed by after the incident with Saya and a new year had also arrived as well, which caused the zombie apocalypse to stay on the forefront of my mind like a leech.2

However, during the few months that had passed, I found myself acquiring new hobbies so that I could find ways to relax or even learn new things. During the time that Saya and I officially got together, I had told Yuriko one day that I wanted to pick up on archery.

At the time, I wasn't really serious about it, but I just kept thinking about the subject because of the zombie apocalypse. It was a known thing that learning how to use a bow and arrow would be pretty useful because they didn't make nearly as much noise as a regular gun did, which would be nice in the case that a zombie apocalypse somehow occurred.

Isn't it convenient that there's supposed to be one happening?

Anyways, Yuriko had apparently taken my statement with complete seriousness when I said it because she hired a personal trainer for me not too long after that. It was unexpected but I'm glad she did it because I actually took to it pretty well.

The person who she had hired was an older man with greyish hair and a short beard, who was apparently very skilled with the way of the bow.

They definitely weren't lying, that's for damn sure.

I still want to get good enough with a bow to where I can shoot a perfect bullseye while blindfolded just like he can. The older man has been teaching me a bunch of shit for about six months now, which actually included real life hunting.

It was actually really fun as I continued to get more skilled with using a bow and arrow. My teacher told me that I was better than average at the current level I was at now, which was enough for me. I wasn't necessarily trying to be the best, but just good enough to where I can hold my own against another skilled bow and arrow user.

Another hobby I picked up on was cooking. I hadn't ever really tried it until I decided to make my own breakfast one day, which surprised Yuriko when she walked into the kitchen only to see me at the stove. Luckily for me, I never had one of those moments where I nearly burned the house down in the process, which I was very thankful for.

However, it also had the effect of attracting Saya and Yuriko to me even more, as well as them giving a few requests for me to cook them a meal every once in a while. It turns out that I'm actually a natural at cooking and the two women living in the mansion with me was very happy at that new information. It just provided more opportunities to practice so it didn't really bother me.

The last hobby I picked up on, which I wasn't sure could actually be considered one, was practicing my underrated ability to focus an alien form's power at a specific body part of mine. For example, if I focused hard enough, I could use a Pyronite's natural fire affinity to spew flames like a dragon. It was just a cool skill to have if I wanted to be discreet or something.

That brought up another subject that has been stuck in my head for a while.

I really needed to come up with special names for my alien counterparts to distinguish them without having to say their actual species name all the time.

Meh, I'll figure something out later.

--------------------------------------------------

As the teacher continued to drone on up at the front of the class, I fought hard to stay awake in the back of the room, my desk located in the corner on the right side.

It was just another day in the life for me... God, I fucking hate school.

Rubbing my eyes, I straightened up and tried to pay attention to whatever the hell was coming out of the teachers mouth. However, my eyes landed on someone sitting a little further up around the middle, black hair and glasses on his face.

Kohta Hirano.

Back when I had met him in that gun store, I never would've thought that he and I was going to be in the same class together, much less attend the same damn high school.

It was cool, though. We got along pretty well and occasionally talked with one another about random shit, most of the time it being guns, but that was besides the point. He was an alright dude and I had no problems with the big guy.

All of a sudden, a random student who I wasn't that familiar with passed me a sticky note that came from the left side of the classroom. I raised an eyebrow before opening the piece of paper, which was scrunched up into a small ball.

The words that were written on the piece of paper was 'I love you'.

Immediately, I knew who the sticky note had originally came from. Turning to my left, my eyes met her reddish-brown orbs, a smile crawling onto my face as she cutely waved at me.

Rei Miyamoto, the girlfriend that I've had for around two months.

We had seen each other around for much longer than that but we first started talking about half a year ago and quickly became friends by having to complete an assignment with a partner. She looked cute so I went over to talk to her when everyone else had already picked someone out to work with them, which left the both of us to settle for what we had.

Eventually, I actually asked her out on a little date. We had gone to an arcade not too far away from the high school and had lots of fun. The two of us still haven't gone all the way yet because Rei told me that she didn't want to rush things and instead take it slow, which I didn't necessarily have a problem with.

I mean, Yuriko and Saya were enough to satisfy my needs while I waited for her to be ready. Just because I was in a relationship with her didn't mean that I would be giving them up any time soon.

However, I would often pull her out of class or make her late because the two of us constantly made out in areas that we wouldn't really be caught by other people. There were a few close moments, though.

I wrote a reply on the same sticky note saying, 'I love you too.', which I gave to the person sitting on my left. In turn, they passed the piece of paper around until she eventually got it back. Once Rei had read the note herself, I could spot a subtle red tint to her cheeks as she sent me an air kiss.

Chuckling to myself, I sent her a wink before redirecting my attention back to the teacher up ahead. At least, that was until the door behind me slid open and someone stumbled in short of breath, panic set deep within their eyes.

It was another student that I didn't recognize. Their eyes scanned the classroom up and down before they finally said something in the dead of silence that was caused by their abrupt entry.

"People just got killed by the front gate!"
