It Must Have Been The Wind
3It was the day after my pleasant run-in with Miku.0
Just like yesterday, before most of the residents were even awake yet, I had planned on quietly heading outside in the early morning so that I could get a bit of training in with my partial transformation ability.
However, unlike the warm and sunny environment that it had been yesterday, the current weather conditions were a bit more... somber? I wasn't sure if that was the correct word to use, but given the combination of some light rain and a bit of subtle fog, it just released a strong feeling of dejection for some reason.
Due to the current weather conditions, I had decided to just enjoy the early morning by taking in the relaxing sounds, eyes closed in a tranquil silence.
I was currently standing outside of the Takagi mansion albeit under it's roof which extended outwards a small bit. Leaning back against the wall, I couldn't stop a smile from crawling onto my face as a cool breeze swept past.
(Here's a picture for reference.)
Even though it might have seemed gloomy, or just downright depressing, the rain still had this weird comforting effect on me. There would even be rare moments where it felt like I was actually being watched for some reason.
... It must have been the wind.
My thoughts were interrupted as I heard the front door creak open, which caused my head to instinctually turn in the direction of the noise, which revealed Saeko casually holding the handle as the purple haired woman gave me a cute smile once she noticed me. The other hand, which had been limply hanging by her side, raised up in a familiar sign of greeting.
"Good morning, Saeko... What are you doing out here so early?"
Saeko's desirable lips curved upwards even further as she closed the front door before leaning up against the wall right next to me. "I should be asking you the same thing, mister." Her eyes narrowed playfully as she leaned forward slightly, our bodies just a few inches away from making contact with one another.
While replying to her playful little comment probably would have been good, simply admiring the purple haired woman's facial features instead seemed to be even better. However, Saeko eventually caught on as she continued to stare at me for an answer, and instead found my hazel brown eyes wandering to other places on her nubile figure.
Saeko nervously turned her head towards the water fountain down below the stairs in front of us, beginning to get somewhat insecure as my eyes seemed to be pretty focused, but I quickly corrected myself just in case she was actually starting to become uncomfortable.
"... My bad." I apologized. Saeko waved it away, shaking her head as a way to say that it wasn't a big deal. "You're just really pretty. I can't help it."
That appeared to catch her off guard, or at least throw her off enough to where she didn't really know how to reply, which was another cute reaction. There was a subtle tint of pink to her cheeks now that clearly told me what it was.
"E-Erm... thank you."
Nodding in response, I looked out to the direction of the entrance gate before exhaling a relaxed breath of air. Saeko glanced at me with a raised eyebrow, slightly puzzled by the smirk plastered onto my face.
"What's got you so chipper this early in the morning?"
Chuckling at the question, I sent an amused glance towards the purple haired woman. "Does this not feel familiar to you in any way?"
Glancing around on her own, she seemed confused at the question for a couple seconds. In an attempt to help better refresh her memory, I tapped her shoulder with one hand while acting as if there was a cup held in the other.
"Hey, are you okay? You've been standing out here for like five minutes."
There was a moment of silence between the both of us as Saeko looked at me as if I was crazy, at least until her pretty blue eyes suddenly widened in shock before she began to uncontrollably giggle, eventually clutching her stomach once it started becoming a little hard to breathe.
"O-Oh my... I definitely remember it now." Saeko couldn't stop the last few giggles in between her words, eventually calming down enough to where all that remained was a big happy smile on her face. "It was raining just like this when the two of us first met each other."
"Yeah... Time flies by pretty damn quick, doesn't it?" I murmured just loud enough for her to hear, feeling somewhat nostalgic from the fond memory.
Saeko turned back towards me, this time with an undiscernible look in her pretty blue eyes. The purple haired girl seemed to nervously fidget with the kimono that she was currently wearing, which didn't last for very long as she seemed to eventually gather enough courage in order to walk towards me before grabbing ahold of an arm.
I didn't even have enough time to supply the purple haired woman with a reaction before she set my lips on fire with a passionate kiss, going from holding onto my arm to wrapping both of her arms around my neck, which allowed her to capture me within a trap that I didn't want to get out of.
Even as Saeko continued to kiss me, I could feel her body trembling, which must've been from everything that had happened to all of us within the past couple of days. It has been really chaotic, I had to admit.
After a split-second of regaining my composure, I quickly reciprocated the love that was being given to me through my body as I held onto the purple haired woman in a caring embrace, making sure that she knew everything was going to be fine.
We stayed like that for a while, too engrossed into one another's warmth to really care about anything else happening around us.

It was now three hours later.
Currently sitting around a long table inside of a room that had never really been used for anything beforehand, my group and I intently listened to a man that had been assigned the role similar to a supply manager where they kept track of our rations. He had gone into an in-depth explanation as to how it was looking concerning our current amount of food.
Glancing at the small name tag sticker on his chest, the man's name was apparently Dohata Nobosu, and it seems like he has taken to his new job quite nicely. However, I had sort of tuned him out as he continued to explain the current situation, but it was due to the fact that I already knew how we were doing.
I was the one that made sure we had at least two years worth of canned food and a few other assortments before the outbreak even started, after all.
Yuriko had eventually noticed what I was doing and asked for my reasoning, to which I just replied with a 'what if' question in return. The woman had simply accepted it, seeing a hint of truth to my words even if the sudden decision was a bit random.
Unfortunately, I hadn't really expected for there to also be so many people seeking refuge at the Takagi Estate as well. I could've possibly done more than around two years worth, but I had thought of it as a good start at the time. If this was going to continue, I might have to come up with another idea altogether... maybe clear some of the trees out and make an area for a large garden?
I'll speak to Yuriko about it later.
Turning to my right, I caught the sight of long purple hair and blue eyes, which were focused on the man currently speaking at the other side of the room.
After Saeko and I had finally pulled away from each other, the flustered girl asked whether or not she could visit my bedroom later tonight, and the answer was as expected.
Of course.
Turning back to Mr. Nobosu, I refocused my attention to his explanation. However, even as I did that, my mind couldn't help but somewhat linger on the thought of Saeko visiting me later.
... Man, I really am a pervert.

~Shizuka's POV~
"Yes, I did it! I finally remembered her phone number!" Shizuka cheered in excitement, joyfully bouncing up and down as she pulled out the device within her pocket. Her actions caused the two mounds on her chest to start matching her erratic movements, which would've easily distracted any of the workers from their jobs if they were to just look up at one of the windows.
The reason for the blonde haired woman's great delight was the fact that she had just remembered her best friend's phone number, Rika. She had been constantly trying to think back within her memory for the past few days in order to call the woman but it was only now that it had finally occurred to her.
Slowly dialing each number due to the fact that she wasn't very good with electronics, Shizuka put the phone up to her ear once it began ringing.
After a couple rings, someone finally picked up on the other side.
"... Hello?" A smooth feminine voice said, which Shizuka instantly realized was her best friend.
"Rika! Oh my god, you're alive!" Shizuka cried in relief, her vision becoming a little blurry due to the tears building up. The woman had obviously been worrying about Rika, which also applied to the other woman as she smiled on the other side of the phone.
Before Shizuka could even say anything else, Rika cut her off with an important question. "Where are you right now? I need to know."
Wiping away the tears from her eyes, the blonde haired woman quickly replied to the urgent tone within her best friend's voice. "Ah!- the Takagi Estate... are you coming over? I thought you were-"
"I left."
Eyes widening in surprise at the blunt response, Shizuka couldn't help but gasp. "W-What do you mean by that? Did they let you go or something?"
Releasing a tired sigh, Rika decided that now wasn't the time for questioning. "Look, I'll fill you in once I get there, alright? From where I am right now, I can probably get there in about a day or so, but I can't really talk anymore."
With a mixture of happiness and confusion, Shizuka nodded her head even though Rika couldn't see it. "O-Okay. Just be safe out there."
The phone call abruptly ended after that.
