A Terrible Misunderstanding
The moon was clear through the large window to my left as I laid in bed with nothing but a pair of boxers on, casually enjoying the crisp night air as it occasionally blew through the room. The rain had finally stopped pouring down just a few hours ago, leaving everything damp yet slightly cleaner than beforehand.1
"I wonder when Saeko is going to come and visit... hopefully, she didn't change her mind like at the last minute or something." I mumbled to myself, frowning a bit in thoughtful consideration of the cute purple haired girl.
Looking down at myself, I examined my own body with a scrutinizing eye. Possessing a height of 6'1, the muscles on me made it seem as if I had been going through some type of intense physical training for nearly my entire life.
While my musculature was extremely defined, nearly to the point that it seemed liked I was probably taking steroids to some people, I could be much more agile and swift compared to someone else that had about the same build as I did.
In all honesty, even to my point of view, nothing about this felt... normal.
Of course, it didn't. There wasn't anything about me that could even be considered normal in the first place. I was literally created like a fucking video game character or something, by some kind of god no less.
It was probably just for their entertainment as well.
If that wasn't enough, while I may appear to be a young man with this body, I was only like a few years old in reality...
Tsk.
My entire existence doesn't even make any fucking sense.
Breathing out a sigh of frustration, I shook my head and palmed my face as an empty chuckle reverberated through my chest.
I wasn't going to lie and say that I haven't been frustrated as of late. It's already been draining enough just to hide all of it from the people around me. Maybe that's another reason as to why I was so eager for Saeko to come and visit me at night...
It was very easy to distract myself with a woman's touch rather than continue dwelling on my convoluted past, after all.
My thoughts were interrupted as I heard the bedroom door open a small bit, revealing a hint of Saeko's frame as she peeked in with nervousness coursing through her.
"Hey..." Saeko whispered before closing the door behind her once she stepped inside with quiet footsteps. The purple haired girl leaned against the door, shyly turning away as my eyes instantly focused onto what was currently on her body.
It was a low-cut black tank top over a matching black thong... that was it. Saeko apparently didn't wear much of anything to bed. Hell, the woman could be wearing that just because she was here.
Maybe she sleeps naked? That would be pretty hot.
"Are you going to get in the bed or just stand there and let me admire your body? I wouldn't mind it either way..." I teased, which drove the woman to join me as she quickly scurried over and crawled under the soft blanket, shyly getting close to the warmth that my own body just naturally produced constantly. With a smile, I pulled her even closer once she grew hesitant to make a move, causing a pinkish tint to bloom on her pretty face.
"Comfy?"
She nodded, resting her head on my chest.
"Sleepy?"
There was another nod albeit weaker than the first one, this time followed by a soft exhalation of air through her nose.
"Thank you for letting me do this..." Saeko whispered, trailing off yet leaving me with a hint as to what she had been referring to.
Saeko, having been put under a lot of constant stress by numerous things in her life, as well as suppressing all of it for the most part, just wanted to find something that could provide her with some type of solace.
The zombie apocalypse wasn't exactly a relaxing situation that helped that either.
A moment of silence went by for a couple seconds before I suddenly felt Saeko's body go limp in my arms, the head full of long purple hair resting under my chin filling my senses with her intoxicating scent as she fell asleep.
Unable to stop a sigh of frustration from coming out of my mouth, I just stared up at the ceiling with a bitter feeling in my chest, which wasn't towards the woman currently asleep in my arms but directed at myself instead.
Well... this certainly wasn't what I was expecting.
How the hell was she even able to fall asleep so quick anyways?
--------------------------------------------------
My eyes shot open as I felt a weight on my chest squirm around, which turned out to be Saeko as the sleeping woman began the slow process of waking up. The sunlight beaming down on her face through a window caused a grimace to replace the serene look she had previously.
Gently pushing the woman off of my chest as pretty blue eyes finally cracked open to take in her surroundings, I couldn't stop a refreshed yawn from slipping out as I sat on the edge of my bed, rubbing my own eyes in order to get the remaining drowsiness out of them.
"Good morning..." I said, my voice taking on a deeper tone due to the fact that I had just woken up.
Instead of getting a reply, Saeko crawled up behind me and hung her arms over my shoulders, placing a fleeting kiss on the side of my neck before letting out a tired yawn as well.
"... Thank you. I can't remember the last time that I slept this well."
Nodding my head, I stood up and walked towards my closet, fumbling through the many pieces of clothing that were stored inside until I eventually found a suitable outfit. I must've been acting weirdly because Saeko appeared concerned as she asked a question from her position on the bed.
"Um... are you okay? You seem upset, Dante."
In all honesty, the question sort of caught me off guard. I definitely hadn't been expecting that.
Was I... upset? I'm not exactly sure what would've caused it but I did internally realize that I wasn't really in the mood right now. Before I could even get a word out, Saeko appeared to have reached her own conclusion without me even saying anything in response.
"Oh no. Oh my god, I'm so sorry. You must've been-" Saeko covered her face as she tried to hold back tears, standing up as her legs began moving her towards the door.
I rushed after the woman, a sense of concern immediately rushing through me at the sight of her distressed physical condition. Right before she was going to open the door, I grabbed her arm and pulled the woman into my arms, trying my best to somehow provide comfort to her.
Through her rambling, I was able to eventually piece together a few words that gave me a basic understanding of what was wrong.
Saeko was calling herself selfish because of the fact that I comforted her by letting her sleep in my bed and she hadn't done anything to repay me, which the woman automatically assumed should've been pleasuring me with her body.
Narrowing my eyes, I had an incredibly strong urge to palm my face in that moment.
While I certainly wouldn't have rejected the offer... that's not the primary reason as to why I did it in the first place. I did it because Saeko is a person that I greatly care for, perhaps love would be a better word to use, and she clearly needed a little bit of emotional support due to everything that happened within her life.
The girl has clearly gone through a few traumatic experiences, which have had quite the lasting effect on her.
Gently cupping the purple haired girl's face, I stared directly into her pretty blue eyes as I spoke with an obvious sincerity. "Hey, listen to me." My words were clear and cut through the air with their power, causing her to look up into my hazel brown orbs. "You're wrong, Saeko. I let you sleep in my bed because I could spot that you were obviously dealing with something. As the leader of our small group, I saw that it could become a potential issue within the near future if it were to continue negatively affecting you. One thing could lead to another and a zombie might just get the drop on you while the rest of us is busy with our own problems. If I had to let you sleep in my bed for the remainder of our lives in order to lessen the chances of that happening then I would do so within a heartbeat, do you understand?"
During my little speech, Saeko's eyes had widened in surprise, and a pink tint eventually bloomed on her cheeks as she turned her face away in shame by the end. After a short period of silence, the purple haired girl nodded her head before speaking in a whisper.
"Sorry."
Giving the woman a smile, I wiped her tears away and shook my head in response. "There's no need to apologize. If it helps at all then you can sleep in my room whenever it becomes too much to handle, alright?"
She nodded once again, slowly regaining her composure little by little. "Um, did you really mean it when you said that you weren't upset about me not... paying you back with my body?" The question was shyly asked by a blushing Saeko, which made it even cuter.
With an amused grin on my face, I couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the question. "Yeah, I'm sure. However, maybe you should wear something a little bit more... modest whenever you decide to sleep in my room. It really makes my imagination run wild. Heh." I teased, my grin increasing in size as she blushed up a storm in response.
"... Baka."
