Chapter 29: Beat Her At Everything

"Wuwuwu! Lillie-chan you must get justice for me!" After 3 hours of searching and waiting for Ethan's reply did she finally found them.1

Ethan, that hateful man, made her miss the fireworks display from a good view because the others had already occupied it!

She wanted to spend quality time with her bestie but no! She just had to invite that ungrateful bastard!

If it weren't for her he wouldn't even be here in the first place!

Ethan mentally clicked his tongue in annoyance. She found them so soon, he did not have enough time with Lillie.

Lillie comforted the twenty four year old woman, who acts like a four year old.

"It's getting late, time to head back." Lillie said. Haruka whined and refused, she was so unsatisfied of this day. Not only did she missed the fireworks, she also payed for their drinks!

She never wanted to strangle someone so badly until now, specifically her Bestie's future husband.

Maybe Lillie will thank her later if she did removed that big obstacle.

"Fufufu~"

Ethan suddenly shivered. "I feel evil intents.."

Arriving back to the Haruka mansion, Lillie head straight her room to change.

Her feet are already killing her. She've never walked so long before and those wooden sandals didn't help either.

Lillie went to the bathroom, turned on the warm water and filled the bathtub. She grabbed her favorite rose scented bath oil and poured some on the bathtub.

Grabbing some fresh roses on the vase, she picked the petals off and spread them on the water.

Removing her bathrobe, she entered the fragrant bathtub. The warm water helped her relax the tension on her muscles, specially her legs.

Leaning her head on the edge, Lillie felt drowsy. Closing her eyes, she doze off.

Lillie had a dream-no...it a memory, a bad one.

The day she met Ethan Li, she finds him very attractive. That, she could not deny.

She remembered it all clearly. How she was the one greeted him first, how his eyes would look so distant every time their teacher discuss. He was simply God's greatest work of art.

Ethan was the second guy who she had the audacity to speak to.

The first was Wei Fang, the friend she thought who would trust her and knew her better than anyone. Because of that incident, Lillie shut everyone off.

She was distant to everyone, she would not make friends with anyone. That's why the school called her the Ice Goddess.

She's beautiful as a Goddess with feelings as cold as ice. She's the school's belle, their muse, their number one beauty.

Then, Ethan came in her life. Something happened that never happed before....

Lillie was not ignorant of feelings, she knows them well because of her mother.

The words her mother always reminded her was, "If you feel that your heart skipped a beat doesn't mean you are sick. It means you're in love!"

Lillie was trilled, she experienced the thing her mother always reminded her. This was the first time her heart would do this.

If her mother never spoke of something like this, the practical and logical thinking Lillie would think she's dying!

So...this means she's in love with Ethan? Already?

She needs to test it out first!

Every time class ended, Lillie would go out first before going to her hang out spots because she would always see Ethan there.

He was always alone. Much like her, he was aloof. He ignored those cake faced, flirty girls, the jerks who wanted him on the team, even the Students Council who wished for him to join as he is the perfect role model for the school.

He got high grades, good looks and also good at every sports. Just like Lillie.

Unfortunately, that dreadful thing happened.

Lillie was casually walking through the quiet corridors of the school when she heard an awfully familiar voice speaking.

"....my reason? Come on you don't have to know.....urgh fine, there's this girl who I need to beat.....yeah, she's always on top of everything, good at everything. I just need to beat her..."

Lillie felt uncomfortable. It couldn't be that it was her he's talking about? Who else would it be who's always on top?

"Her name's Lillie Bai...."

An ear-shattering noise suddenly sounded through her ears only. Her heart was shattered.

He wanted to beat her? He wanted to take her place? This...doesn't that mean he hates her?!

Hah...so that's why he accepted the Student Council's invitation because she was a member! That's why he joined every sports or martial arts training she's in!

So, that's why he would always volunteer to challenge her on every academic competitions!
