Xiaolei was surprised that the one who stopped the man was actually Yun Jinhan. He was honestly the last person Xiaolei would even think to come and rescue her!  1

"Mr. Monreo," Yun Jinhan's voice was a little cold as he gripped the man's wrist.  

"Back off, Mr. Yun." The man violently pulled his hand from Yun Jinhan's grip as he stepped back and glared at him. But Yun Jinhan was surprisingly firm. 

"I'm sorry but I can't let you bully my business partner," he said, and Mr. Monreo snarled.  

"Business partner, my ass!" He glared at Yun Jinhan again and smirked mockingly at Xiaolei before he finally left them.  

Once the man was gone, Yun Jinhan worriedly looked at her.  

"Are you alright?" he asked, and Xiaolei immediately nodded.  

"I'm fine. Thank you."  

"Sorry, I noticed that he was giving you trouble since he arrived in the hall. I should've helped you before it came to this."  

Xiaolei shook her head. "No, it's not your fault. And I'm really okay." 

"That's a relief then… Shall we go back?" he smiled kindly at her, and Xiaolei stared at him for a moment before she nodded. 

"Mm."  

As Xiaolei followed him, she couldn't help but feel a little guilty. Ever since they'd  arrived at this place, Xiaolei had been ignoring Yun Jinhan. She was deliberately avoiding him, so they hadn't talked to each other that much in the past five days that they were together. She was dealing with him like he was simply her new colleague, and her way of talking to him was always formal even though he asked her to drop the formalities. Xiaolei did her best to set aside everything. She made a deal with herself that, in this second life of hers, Yun Jinhan was just her business partner and nothing more.  

She had been wary of him and was cold towards him. She was sure he'd already noticed her indifference towards him and that was probably the reason why he wasn't approaching her during their breaks anymore. But this man actually came and saved her. She really didn't know what would have happened by now if she called Juu or if she actually punched that asshole. It would be such real trouble if Yun Jinhan didn't come. Somehow, Xiaolei felt a little guilty for being cold towards Yun Jinhan these entire five days.  

Yes, this man was the one she married and the one who killed her in her previous life. But this time, he was innocent. He didn't have anything to do with the Yun Jinhan in her previous life. Their lives were now completely different. This man didn't know anything.  Besides, if this man didn't decide to kill her that night… and she didn't return back in time… 

Xiaolei shook her head to clear her mind. She thought that she must forget about her past now, including her fear towards Yun Jinhan. It was never easy, but Xiaolei couldn't let the past control her anymore. She had Yu Chen now and the rest of the people she loved. 

This current Yun Jinhan wasn't that vengeful man from her past. She thought that there was no reason for her to be wary of him and fear him anymore.  

When they returned to the dining hall, Mr. Monreo wasn't there anymore. Xiaolei was extremely relieved. They both then sat alongside Mr. Ville and talked about random things as they dined.  

Xiaolei's treatment towards Yun Jinhan also changed a little.  

Mr. Ville was such a talker, and he actually made Xiaolei drink more alcohol. Xiaolei always knew her limit. She didn't want to get drunk on an occasion like this. In fact, she only drinks past her limit if she's with her sisters, Davi and Hinari. However, at that moment, Xiaolei failed to consider the fact that the alcohol in this country was different and actually far stronger than the brand she was used with.  

She was so caught off guard, and before she knew it, she was already drunk.  

Yun Jinhan ended up supporting her as they left the dining hall when the dinner party was finally over.  

Juu, who was waiting outside, saw Xiaolei being supported by Yun Jinhan and immediately furrowed his brow.  He quickly strode towards them to get Xiaolei away from Yun Jinhan. However, Yun Jinhan didn't hand her to him.  

"It's alright. I'll help her," he said, and Juu's face darkened. He wanted to pull her away from this Yun Jinhan, but he then remembered Xiaolei's stern instructions: to restrain himself and not cause any trouble. Because of that, he could only intervene if her safety was at stake.  

This Yun Jinhan was just supporting her; he wasn't trying to hurt her. Juu could see that. But he couldn't help but glare at the man as he followed them closely from behind. Juu didn't like this man the first time he saw him. Truth was, he didn't like any man touching her, of course, except Yu Chen.  

He was like Xiaolei's displeased pet tailing them closely, looking like he was more than ready to mercilessly attack Yun Jinhan once he tried to do anything bad to her.  

Even though they were now at the entrance of the building, Xiaolei was still being supported by Yun Jinhan as they waited for the car Juu had called when a lowkey black car stopped before them.  

Juu was about to approach the car to open the door, so Yun Jinhan could help her inside, when he suddenly halted in place. He realized it wasn't the car they were waiting for.  

The car door then opened and a dazzling man stepped out. He was wearing an entire suit of steel grey, and he was absolutely handsome. Juu's eyes widened the moment he saw him.  

The gorgeous man then turned to look at him. However, the moment this man's eyes fell towards Luo Xiaolei and saw the man supporting her, his dark eyes constricted and his aura blazed into something horrifying and devastating.
