Jun stood near the front yard, holding two bodies in his arms. When the guards saw this, they couldn't help but be taken aback.

"I need to see Masaki-san. Could you two let him know that I'm here?" Jun spoke with a polite tone, slightly bowing his head. Noticing this, the two guards didn't make too much of a fuss and allowed him to enter.

Once inside, a maid took him over to Masaki's courtyard. She then left in a hurry, obviously scared of the two bodies. Smiling wryly, Jun dropped them and knocked on the paper doors.

"Come in." Masaki's cold voice echoed from inside, signaling for Jun to enter. Nodding, he slid the doors open and made his way in, dragging both of his victims by the collar. Seeing him, Masaki's frowned.

"What happened? Why are you bringing two bodies into my house?" Stunned, the old man wondered what happened.

"These two ambushed me during training. They seem to be Anbu."

"What?" Rising to his feet, Masaki seized Gozu's dead body and carefully lifted his mask. Once his visage was exposed, a stern look emerged on Masaki's face. "Kagen..."

"He used to be in the logistical department of the police force..." Masaki sighed in pain. Pressing his forehead, he turned to Jun. "You said they ambushed you ... How strong were they?"

"Typical Anbu strength. They weren't weak." Although he said that, to Jun, they were frail. In his past life, he would've crushed them with a finger. Shrugging, he continued."They called each other Gozu and Mezu."

"What? His name is Kagen- Wait... you beat two Anbu?"

"See for yourself." Jun picked up Gozu's dead body and removed his mask as well. What was underneath left Masaki slightly disturbed.

"Kagen... But how?" Switching his gaze from body to body, Masaki was didn't understand. The shock made him forget all about Jun taking down two Anbu-level ninja.

"Physical alterations... These two changed their faces and impersonated Kagen. All to infiltrate our clan." Jun threw Gozu's corpse on the tatami, crossing his arms. Although he wanted to blame Danzo, 'root' was still in its infancy... He wasn't confident in Masaki recognizing it.

"So, they were plotting against us, after all." This proved Masaki's worst fears. His clan was being conspired against.

"Masaki-san, with all due respect, I don't think this was done under the third's orders." Catching the old man's attention, Jun explained his reasoning. "lord third doesn't strike me as that kind of person... As for his aides... I think you understand what I'm talking about."

Jun said it without saying it. Hearing his words, Masaki held his chin as he fell in thought. 'Could it be Danzo?' After all, that man never seemed too fond of the Uchiha. If he were the one behind this, it would make sense.

"The question remains... Exactly why did he target me? In the worst-case scenario, he caught wind of what happened back in Naka shrine." Jun thought for a while, trying to dig deeper.

"That's impossible. These two were able to impersonate Kagen because he's never awakened the Sharingan. And to top it off, he's got no close relatives. Everyone in the shrine was closely linked to the clan, or had at least awakened their eyes." Masaki was quick to write this off. He had the utmost confidence in his people.

"Is that so... Then it must have been to get information out of me. The timing seems right since we resigned a month after I became genin." Danzo must've become suspicious of him. Thinking this far, Jun marked him as a high priority target.

He'd have to get rid of this eyesore.
