Chapter 251 – Sabrina’s warning to Robin
"It sounds strange, coming from a man with high libido," Sabrina commented.
Zayla must be out of the way and Aria must have said that Robin no longer had women coming around for fun but Sabrina remembered vividly that when they were married, he still had all those flings.
It might be because he was under so much pressure and wanted her back.
Men would always do anything to get whatever they wanted but after getting it, can they keep it?
"People change, Sabrina. I hope that one day, you will love and trust me again," Robin said sadly.
Sabrina could not respond to that part because she knew that she still loved him but trust? That was another story.
Robin pulled over and when he opened the door for her, she instantly said,
"I'm really tired and can't go for a walk."
Robin was not thinking about it for her either, because it had indeed been a long night.
"It's okay. I will see you tomorrow but can I hug you?"
Sabrina did not respond immediately and rather asked him,
"You said you had a birthday gift for me so where is it?"
She was a little shy, asking but he made a promise and she could not help to not be thinking about it.
Robin was quite happy that she had it imprinted on her mind and smiled,
"You will see it tomorrow."
Sabrina took a step closer and due to the close distance, she hugged him, burying her face in his chest.
Robin wrapped his arms around her, his heart warming to her action.
Who could have known that just a hug from his ex-wife would bring him so much happiness?
When Sabrina pulled away, she said solemnly,
"Robin, please keep your promise. I must have endured it before but I don't have that energy anymore."
He was about to ask what she was talking about when she warned in a serious tone,
"If you complicate yourself with any other woman, you will never see me nor your twins ever again."
He knew that sometimes, the women seduced Robin too, and knowing his weakness, he better toughen up and not fall for anything that would lead to a scandal.
Robin held her two hands, smiled, and responded,
"I'm glad you are telling me this but a promise is a promise."
"Goodnight, Robin."
"Goodnight, dear one."
Robin watched with a smile until she entered the room and closed the door before he sat back into his car, his expression dark, as he drove to the warehouse.
By the time Robin reached the warehouse, Devin was already there so Robin asked him,
"How did you get here so early?"
"Daniel agreed to take Matilda to the mansion since he was going to drop Lizzy," Devin revealed and Robin smiled,
"I see."
He was happy that things were mended between Daniel and Lizzy once again. It was obvious in the way they danced.
"The general was here too but you missed him. He was driving out when I was driving in," Devin said and Robin smiled, partly guessing the reason why the general was there.
"It must have been because of Kennedy."
"I'm sorry for what he did to your mother," Daniel said with remorse but somehow, the pain was not as much as it was before and Robin had the opportunity to get revenge now.
"He will pay for it."
When they reached the open space where Zayla was tied to a chair, back-to-back with her father, It was obvious that the bodyguards had tortured them badly because they could barely open their eyes under the dim lights.
"What is going on?" Robin asked them, the two bodyguards remaining smiled. The other two had left with the general.
"Their sustainability to torture is very low."
Robin nodded his head in understanding since both the father and daughter had never tasted hardship in their lives.
"What are their chances of survival?"
"Fifty percent for the girl and thirty for the old man. The old man's torture was supervised by the general because of the woman he killed."
Robin wondered if Kennedy would ever be able to use his eyes again and could not help imagining exactly what the general to his eyes.
Everywhere around it was red and he could not stand even a little light. The old man was also unconscious.
"Torture the girl some more. I want to see it myself," Robin commanded.
If he tortured Kennedy anymore, he might die and miss the jail term.
Robin also felt that perhaps, seeing Zayla in pain would heal some of the guilt he was feeling for all that he did to Sabrina because of her.
Bright lights were turned on and Zayla opened her eyes blurrily.
One of her eyes even looked damaged and she could only see from one.
"Robin-please-kill-me."
Zayla was speaking so slowly, that one had to pay attention to hear her. She felt so much pain than her body was able to take and all she wanted was death.
"Sorry, I don't want you dead. You still have to go to prison."
There was a light facing Zayla directly and when it was switched on, she closed her eyes tightly to avoid the harsh rays.
Her head was forcefully raised to face the ceiling, and a wet towel was used to cover her face before ice-cold water was poured onto her face continuously, she lost the strength to hold her breath and breathed in the water, feeling it in her head, lungs, and other organs until her struggle became minimal, almost coming to a standstill before Robin said,
"Enough."
They stopped and when they removed the towel, Zayla looked lifeless but since Robin did not want her dead, he said to them,
"Please send them to the hospital and cuff them to the bed. When they are a little better, they will begin the trial."
"Yes sir," the bodyguards responded and began to untie the father and daughter.
Devin looked at Robin and said,
"I'm impressed so when will you begin your cooking lesson? Matilda is with Sabrina."2
He wanted to help Robin win Sabrina as Robin wanted and also felt that Robin might not be comfortable with Matilda around when he was learning to cook Sabrina's favorite meals.
"Tomorrow morning. I have a date with Sabrina in the evening," Robin said with a smile, Devin smiled back.
Since Robin knew the basics of cooking, it was not going to be hard for him to learn about Sabrina's favorite meals.
"Then I will be waiting. You already have my address."
