Chapter 256 - Sabrina was impressed.
"I began learning a few weeks ago," Robin said honestly, Sabrina was amazed by the man standing in front of her in an apron plating the food he prepared with a fantastic aroma.2
There were no maids around for her to think that somebody cooked the food for him.
"Robin, is this really you?"
Robin was having missed feelings, unable to tell if she was happy or doubtful of him.
"Sabrina, I know that I've been a jerk but you taught me how to love. These were the things you used to do for me but I took them for granted until you left. Are you ready to eat?" He asked politely.
Sabrina smiled, not able to take her eyes off him. Well, since he cooked, she was eager to know how it tasted.
"Yes, yes I am."
Robin's lips thinned into a smile at the eagerness she attached to eating the food.
It made him very happy that she was pleased with the little effort he put into making her happy.
"Alright. Please wait at the dining table," Robin said as he could not continue with what he was doing when her curious gaze pinned on him like that.
Sabrina refused. "No, I want to watch."
Seeing Robin most of the time dressed elegantly in his suit taking charge of things in the office and commanding her to do whatever he wanted, this sight was a humble side of Robin which Sabrina never saw, for which reason her interest was captured.
Robin smiled shyly but did not lie. "It's difficult to cook under the gaze and scrutiny of an experienced person like you."
"Then you should forget that I am here," Sabrina responded, still refusing to leave. Robin's hands shook a little, as he continued plating the food.
Who knew that the woman he neglected would be the one to bring out this side of him?
Robin arranged the food neatly on the dining table under her shocking gaze, Sabrina's mouth could not close for some time.
It was until he pulled a chair for her that she recovered from the shock.
Still, she did not touch her cutlery or anything, just lost in thought. She did not believe that a man could change like this, especially one like Robin, who exhumed so much authority in the business world over great men and women.
"You seem so surprised. If you don't mind, I can feed you."
Sabrina did not answer so he lifted the fork twirled with pasta and sauce to her lips and she parted them to welcome the pasta.
She closed her eyes and savored the taste of every ingredient.
"It tastes like my mother's recipe," Sabrina said thoughtfully. Then she opened her eyes and stared at him. "Did you learn from Devin?"
She began to piece a few things together. The next person who cooks like her is Devin.
Then again, she heard a male voice when she followed Matilda to see Devin and he denied that there was somebody there.
Also, since Martin and Devin were no longer best friends and with Zayla out of the way, Devin no longer hated Robin.
"Wait, you were in his house when we came there right?" She asked critically, Robin could not lie to her and said truthfully,
"You caught me. Yes."
Sabrina was astonished. Cooking wasn't something that took just a day to learn and Robin said he began learning a few weeks ago so was it from Devin all along?
She had to find out. "So, did you learn all this today?"
"I learned how to make the pasta from Daniel and I had also learned how to cook a few other dishes already so I had the basics and asked him to teach me how to make your favorite dish."
"This is well cooked," Sabrina complimented and began munching the food hungrily, Robin's heart warmed and he began to eat his food as well, saying,
"Coming from you, I would take it as a compliment."
"You deserve it," Sabrina wholeheartedly said and emptied her glass after eating so much pasta, Robin picked up the jar and asked her,
"More juice?"
"Half glass," she smiled and said. After pouring the juice for her, Robin dropped the cutlery and began to look at her keenly, regret filled his heart for his past actions.
Seeing Sabrina eating the food he cooked made him so happy but he remembered that he never thanked her when she used to do it for him.
"I'm sorry for missing out on all those eventful days."
"It's in the past and I'm honestly impressed," Sabrina smiled at him.
Robin waited until she ate her fill before he packed the plates into the dishwasher.
Returning to his chair, he said to her,
"So, there is something I need to show you."
"Okay, where is it?" Sabrina asked, feeling lazy after eating so much.
"In my father's bedroom."
Sabrina was slightly confused and frowned,
"I thought you showed me everything the last time."
"No. I held on to the most important one," Robin revealed, and Sabrina was even more curious.
"Okay. I would like to see it."
They climbed up the stairs and Robin went through the archives and brought out the briefcase containing the diamonds, letter, and all the medical reports.
"You might want to sit down," he said and Sabrina sat on the bed, eager to see what he had for her.
"Sabrina, this is how I found out about everything. I hope you don't take it the wrong way but I don't want to hide anything from you."
Robin dropped the briefcase in front of Sabrina as he spoke, she grimaced,
"What are you talking about?"
He opened the briefcase and said to her,
"This belongs to you."
"What is this?" Sabrina asked, staring at Robin and not the briefcase like he wanted.
"Just look at the things inside the briefcase. I will excuse you and work on my next agenda for our date. I guess we would have to talk after so I'm going to prepare a place."
That said, Robin left her alone in the room since her reaction would determine the next phase of their relationship.
