Chapter 260 - I’m desperately in love with my ex-wife, dear one
"If you want me back, then you have to work harder. I need to be sure that you have indeed changed and would remain that way if we are back together again."1
Sabrina expected Robin to give up after saying those words to him but was surprised to see a warm smile on the corner of his lips instead, she was confused as to whether she was not seeing well under the dim lights and asked him,
"Did you understand what I said?"
"Yes, Dear one, you just gave me permission to woo you and I'm bold and strong enough to take up the challenge."
Robin was afraid that after the discussion, she was going to cut him off to the way it was in the beginning but rather, things improved.
For as long as she was aware and prepared that he wanted to woo her, Robin purposed in his heart to not fail.
Also, he still had her friendship which they had built before time, allowing him to hug her on two occasions.
At some point, he wondered why he messed up his life so much.
Being with Sabrina and even without having sex and all those girls around him, this was the happiest he ever felt in his life.
Perhaps it was because of the scales covering his eyes from before cos right now, he was very certain that there was no fun in womanizing but rather, a lot of joy in vowing to make his ex-wife happy.
Sabrina was surprised by the understanding he attached to her words, and was rendered speechless.
His glare on her made her uneasy, she felt the blood rising on her cheeks and turned to her side whilst saying,
"I should sleep now. I have work tomorrow."
"You are the boss. There is more to talk about," Robin reminded her since he had the night planned.
Transparency was an excellent tool and he planned to never hide anything from her anymore, as he watched her slim figure with so much adoration in his eyes.
"Robin, in case you forgot, I'm carrying two people with me," Sabrina reminded him subtly, his smile froze a little.
Yes, Sabrina needed a lot of rest so he decided to hasten things to give her just that.
"Sorry, I forgot but I wanted us to talk about our second date." Robin was not leaving any stone unturned.
Their first date started well, went south, but miraculously came back on track so he could not wait for a second one because of how he craved her presence so much.
Sabrina stiffened a little. Robin's change was making him more and more attractive; she was finding it hard to resist him and now he was demanding a second one, Sabrina was afraid that she might give in without letting him work for it the way she wanted.
"The first one is not even over," she said subtly and when she lay down, the dress shifted and her white thighs were exposed, Robin wanted to avoid the temptations that might spoil everything he worked hard for, thereby covering her with a duvet.
"I know but it's because our second date is attached to your birthday gift."
Sabrina turned to face him and frowned a little. "I thought this was it."
Every effort Robin had put in was indeed a fantastic one and whenever she remembered Valentine's Day, she was sure to remember this day as well, which meant that Robin's plans to recreate the memories of the past were working.
"No. This is just to create a conducive atmosphere to talk and to also sleep by your side since you refused for us to share the same bed," Robin said honestly, Sabrina shook her head.
She only hoped that he would remain like this but could not help feeling that she had been tricked.
"Robin, you tricked me again."
"I'm desperately in love with my ex-wife, dear one," Robin spoke in a romantic voice and his face shone under the dim lights, making him so attractive, Sabrina facepalmed,
"You are shameless. I'm going to sleep in the bedroom."
She was about to lift herself from the blanket when he held her arm gently, his expression turning serious.
"But you still haven't seen your gift."
Sabrina knew that she shouldn't be so interested in all these surprises but since it was something she had never seen in him before, it drove her curiosity to see and know everything he had planned for her.
"Where is it?"
"Right here."
Robin stretched a little, pulled two envelopes from the sofa, and gave them to her.
"What is it?" She asked, confused.
It was a dark gray decorative envelope, she wondered what it contained.
"You can open the envelopes," Robin said nervously. If she rejected it, then he would have to plan for something else because giving up was not an option.
Sabrina's mouth opened from shock. "A trip to France?"
As she stared at the image and writing on the envelope, she kept wondering if Robin was taking marital or relationship counseling because he had never been so thoughtful and romantic before.
Robin's nervousness was heightened by the way she kept staring at him without opening the second envelope.
"You haven't opened the second one," he reminded her with a forced smile.
He had so much planned for her, hoping she would take the opportunity for him to show them to her.
"Three days in Rome?" Sabrina asked as she read the writings on the card in the second envelope and Robin explained,
"One is your birthday gift and the other is for our date. For the one you choose for your birthday, you can choose whoever you like to go with. All expenses have been paid and you shall be given VIP treatment throughout."
Sabrina could not believe this, asking.
"And the one for our date?"
Robin tensed a little before he explained,
"I was coming to that." He swallowed tightly before saying, "For that one, you don't have a choice but to go with me and that is one week."
