Chapter 266 – Robin’s Queen.
Zayla's imagination went wild. She had to think of a way and Robin had said that if she could convince Sabrina to marry him again, then he would forgive her but Devin was here so what could it mean?
Zayla felt pain in her eyes whenever she looked at something for a long time but with this, she was certain that she was seeing three men.
Robin, Daniel, and Devin. It was normal to see Robin with Daniel but seeing them with Devin meant that he and Sabrina were back together.
Zayla felt pain in her chest and it sunk into her heart at the thought but then again, it meant that Robin was happy and in a good mood.
"Robin, please, you have Sabrina. You two are back together. Please forgive me."
"Why should I forgive you after all the damage you caused in my life?" Robin glared at her.
There were no emotions in his eyes as he addressed her pitiful form.
Zayla's eyes watered and a drop touched her face, it burned from the bruises.
The painkiller administered only reduced the pain so she could still feel it.
"You said that if Sabrina agrees to marry you, you would forgive me," she pleaded.
She did not look like the Zayla they used to see before and without her makeup and all the bruises, she was not an interesting sight at all.
"So, what shows that she has agreed to marry me again?" Robin asked, trying to see what she had on her mind.
Zayla wanted to lift her hand to wipe her face but all she felt was pain and there were tubes attached to her hand as well so she could only turn her head for them to drift to her side.
"Devin is here. You two were enemies before."
Robin chuckled. "Devin is here doesn't mean that Sabrina and I are back together. Even if we are, it was because of my effort and not yours. I gave you the chance to convince her but you failed, Zayla."
Zayla did not understand what Robin's words meant. To her, for as long as Robin was happy, she deserved to be free.
"Robin, but you are happy. You still won and I have suffered enough," she cried but her tears did not move any of the three heartless men looking down at her.
"No Zayla, you haven't suffered at all. I want to see you suffer every day for all the pain Sabrina felt because of me."
Robin's expression turned colder and colder upon the recollection and he added,
"You will pay until you begin to search for death but trust me, I would make sure that you are nursed back to life, only to be tortured over and over again."
Ahh, Robin was too heartless, all Zayla could do was cry, even hating that she did not die.
Then again, she remembered the trial. Robin would not be there to torture her but how wrong she was when she heard Robin continue to speak.
"Even if you go to prison. Every day of your life would be hell. I, Robin Jewel, would make sure of it."
Zayla regretted falling for his handsome features. She regretted trying to get close to him.
She regretted not listening to her mother and leaving when she could.
Robin was handsome on the outside but his heart was full of darkness or maybe, he did not even have a heart.
"Robin, please. I have changed."
Robin's brows raised but his anger burned deeper. He wanted to make sure that Zayla never smiled in her life until he got her killed, just like those years after the death of his father when Sabrina lost her glow and never smiled again.
"It's not enough. If you had repented along the way and confessed, I would have considered it because I would have felt that you had changed but since you allowed me to use my own means to find out all the truth for myself, this is what you deserve."
Zayla realized her mistake. Just like her mother said, she should have left a confession letter and eloped but then, she was looking at the bigger picture, not knowing when everything closed up on her.
Devin stared at her and spoke in a mocking tone,
"I can't believe that a bitch like you caused my sister so many sleepless nights. Your blood is not enough to pay, Zayla. My sister is happy now but your suffering must not end."
Zayla knew that Devin had always been another heartless monster so she turned to Daniel.
"Daniel please beg them for me."
Daniel frowned with disgust as to what gave her the audacity to ask for his help.
"You are speaking to the wrong man bitch. I thought Robin was being too merciful to not have killed you but seeing you like this, my respect for him multiplied again."
"Same here," Devin agreed.
The more he knew Robin, the more his respect and admiration for him increased.
Zayla looked at Robin and pleaded,
"Robin please, I want to see Sabrina."
Robin knew that Sabrina had a soft heart and despite everything, she would forgive Zayla if she saw her in this state so he refused.
"Never. You will never set your sickening eyes on my queen ever again."
Hearing him address his ex-wife as his queen, the pain Zayla felt doubled as Robin asked the doctor,
"Doctor, is she ready for trial?"
Doctor Karen shook her head from where she stood before responding,
"No, her surgical wounds have not yet healed. Please give her time."
"You should make her heal faster for more torture," Robin said, Zayla's eyes blurred with tears and the doctor felt pity for her but was afraid of Robin and responded,
"Yes, Mr. Jewel."
"What about him?" Robin asked, referring to Kennedy.
"He is weak and his system could not take so much torture so his recovery would be longer," the doctor explained as Robin spoke ruthlessly,
"More torture awaits him too."
The doctor was feeling pity for the father and daughter.
No one should fall into the hands of a man like Robin. He was just heartless.
When Robin reached the cops and the military men, he put in charge of Zayla, money was raining from in the air, and the men were so excited as Robin said,
"You guys have done a good job. Have fun."
The men were excitedly picking up the bundles of cash Robin threw at them, which was different from their payment.
It was the money he promised to give Zayla and her father.
Daniel smiled and said, "You are in a good mood."
Robin smiled back and responded,
"Even better, I have to pick up my queen from work."
Hearing him address Sabrina for the second time as his queen, both Daniel and Devin were happy for him and Daniel proudly said,2
"I also have a date with Lizzy tomorrow and I have a surprise for her."
Devin was shaking his head. He couldn't believe that the men he hated before, snatched his sisters from him just like that.
"I will leave you two now," he said, shook his head again, and left.
Funny enough, he was very happy about it, as the understanding settled, that life indeed, was unpredictable.
