Chapter 268 - Shut up, Mara, you know nothing about love
2"What makes you think that you know me?" Robin asked.
Robin couldn't change his past, even though he regretted it.
The only way to overcome the stigma of the past was to live better than he did before and to stay away from women.
Robin had already begun doing that but felt that he needed to do more to gain integrity in that area of his life.
However, Robin also felt that Martin was using his past to make himself feel better and thought to remind him.
"Right now, I advise you to come out of wherever you are hiding, or what I would do to you would be worse than what I did to Zayla and her father."
Martin didn't know, but he already guessed that Zayla and her father might be in a very bad shape since he watched their confession at the party, which was trending in the media.
"As for your sister, I will keep my word and make sure that her body parts are spread across the nations for what she did to Sabrina and her best friend," Robin warned sternly on behalf of the General as well.
The reason why the General hated Mara was because of what she did to his daughter and there was no way anybody would be able to convince him to forgive.
Even if Robin had forgiven Mara, the General wouldn't.
Martin didn't care much about what Robin wanted to do to him but only cared about his sister, thinking that she was already paralyzed.
How much more heartless could Robin be because of revenge? Would he dare to harm a paralyzed woman?
"Robin, all I want is Sabrina, so what does my sister have to do with it?" Martin asked, and Robin could feel Martin's vulnerability from his voice.
"Everything, so you wait until I lay my hands on you," Robin said seriously. Martin frowned imperceptibly.
"You would never find me."
Thanks to Mara, he knew that his call could not be tracked, and wrong signals would be sent.
However, Robin's determination scared him.
"I am closer than you think, and for the cops around your house, they will be running shifts, and I will be paying them from my pocket until I lay my hands on you."
Martin regretted making the call since he wasn't able to derive anything from it.
Then he felt that if he could scare Robin with Sabrina, then he would back off and said,
"You wait until I take Sabrina away. You will never see us again, and I will make sure to abort the child she has in her womb."
Robin stiffened, and his expression was dangerous. While he began laughing the next moment, none of it reached his eyes, which were very cold.
"You make me laugh, Mr. Dane. You seem to be looking up when you should be looking down. If I don't find you within fourteen days, then I will change my name," Robin said daringly.
Knowing that Martin wanted to kidnap and elope with Sabrina, Robin was not going to leave any stone unturned, nor waste any more time, as his fury had no place to take it.
The line died instantly, and Martin was afraid. But Robin put a call through to Daniel, asking with hope,
"Did you get him?"
"No, I'm sorry," the response was instant and it pierced Robin's heart.
All along, he was confident because he was sure that Daniel would have located Martin's whereabouts by now because of the call.
However, he also knew that Mara was good at hiding both her and her brother's locations. He took deep breaths and said,
"Just keep trying."
"But I have a date tomorrow," Daniel reminded him.
He didn't want to disappoint Robin, but from what he heard Lizzy telling Sabrina and Matilda that day, he also needed to have this date with her.
To his relief, Robin understood, saying,
"Okay. Just after tomorrow, gather all the people you will need to help you. I'm willing to pay."
Since Robin vowed to find Martin in fourteen days, he was going to make sure that he didn't fail at it.
"Alright. After my date," Daniel smiled and said, determined to put all other businesses aside and focus on Mara and Martin after his date with Lizzy.
Martin clutched Mara's phone, which he still held tightly in his palms. His teeth ground together.
"Fuck you, Robin!" He snarled, almost shedding tears.
He couldn't endure that Robin and Sabrina were back together like Robin said.
He had to do something, hasten his plans, or whatever he could do to keep them apart.
"Does it make you feel better? You are being reduced to nothing by your fellow man because of Sabrina," Mara said.
Martin stiffened slightly, not knowing that she had been awake.
The phone had also been on speaker, which meant that she heard everything. But Martin's anger aggravated at his sister, and he yelled,
"Shut up, Mara, you know nothing about love. Just shut the fuck up."
Mara wasn't upset that he was angry. She felt that if she didn't save him from it, it would only grow worse and compound their problems.
"Let's leave, Martin. Robin doesn't make empty threats. I believe those men, including Zayla and her father, are all gone," she said thoughtfully. Martin refused to believe it.
"He is just trying to scare me. They are not dead," he insisted, but Mara was losing her patience.
She was afraid that Robin would find them, especially when her special hacker could no longer be reached.
"Even if they are not dead, you can't have Sabrina," she reminded him, worsening the case.
Martin said with fury, his gaze darkening with obsession,
"I want her, and I will have her. I will remove that baby from her womb."
Mara was afraid of how Martin was behaving, as if he was demon possessed. But then she thought to remind him,
"Didn't you say before that you didn't care if she was pregnant with Robin's child?"
