Chapter 271 – You Have to Work Harder

Robin was woken up by the ringing of his phone. Drowsily, he answered it without checking the caller ID.2

"Hello."

"Robin, I arranged for us to talk business over breakfast. Since it's the weekend, I don't need to book an appointment."

Robin's blood boiled when he recognized the voice of the caller, remembering that Sabrina had mentioned she would come up with something. Perhaps he should remind her when he sees her this morning, since they were going to spend the day together.

"Shandra, stop calling my personal number. If it's business, then make it official," Robin said coldly.

The things that used to be fun before now tasted bitter in his mouth. All he wanted was to have a peaceful life with Sabrina.

Shandra wasn't offended, as she had done her research on Robin from the most reliable sources.

He was still as hot as their college days and also divorced. She had heard the story about Zayla and Robin's apology to his ex-wife, and she was also aware that they were not back together yet.

Her plan was to make sure they didn't get back together. If Robin would just give her one chance, she would surely use it to destroy his relationship with Sabrina and make him hers again.

"But you work from Monday to Sunday, and businesses aren't closed because it's the weekend. That's why there is a shift system," Shandra insisted, feeling like she had him. But Robin's response made her realize she wasn't even close.

"I don't work on weekends anymore." Weekend work was one of the reasons why he never paid the needed attention to Sabrina back then.

It was always business mixed with pleasure because from there, he would go to the club and sometimes get home drunk.

Shandra was saddened by his refusal but still forced a smile, making it seem as if it was nothing.

"Too bad. It would have been a perfect opportunity for us to catch up on old times."

She wanted him to remember the old times. They didn't have to give a name to their relationship when they did everything committed people do.

"I don't know what you're catching, but I'm not interested. I have to go," Robin said sarcastically and ended the call, his mood ruined.

He was certain that even if he were locked in a room with naked women, he would never have an erection as long as Sabrina wasn't there.

The moment he decided to stop hurting Sabrina, everything about him changed, even psychologically, and he never felt attracted to women like he used to.

He was about to walk into the shower room when his phone rang again, aggravating his anger as he was certain it was Shandra calling once more.

"I said don't call me again, Shandra. Use the appropriate means," Robin yelled in anger but soon regretted it when he heard the soft, comforting voice on the phone.

"Robin, are you alright?"

Hearing Sabrina's voice, he started sweating. Ever since their divorce, she hardly ever called him, so he never expected it.

However, his anger dissipated, and his voice softened. Excitement brewed in his heart.

"My queen, I'm very sorry, but somebody upset me."

"Shandra again, right?" Sabrina asked emotionlessly. Robin wished they weren't far from each other so he could see her face.

"Yeah," he said truthfully.

Since he didn't have anything going on with Shandra, he didn't have to feel guilty.

"Okay, we'll think of a plan when you get here. But what would you like? I feel like having a smoothie this morning, but I guessed you'd like something different, so I'll inform the chef."

Robin's heart filled with warmth, knowing that she was trying to arrange breakfast for him. Things were progressing faster than he expected, and it made him happy.

"You know what I like, my queen. I'll eat anything you order for me."

"Alright, see you," Sabrina said in a flat tone, hiding the fact that she missed him and wanted to know if he was on his way.

She had already ordered breakfast before calling him. She was about to end the call when Robin said, "Please wait."

"What?" she asked innocently.

"Thank you very much."

"It's nothing. You're spending the day here, so you have to eat well," she said without thinking much.

But Robin smirked at the end of the line, knowing that he was hungry, but not for food.

He was hungry for her in his life again. Only then would his joy be complete.

"Well, I don't have to eat much since I don't have a use for the energy," he tested the limit, wanting to know if she wouldn't mind those jokes.

There was a pause on the line before Sabrina responded sternly, "Robin, please behave."

However, Robin caught the amusement behind it, smiled, and said, "I'm just teasing you, my queen. But I miss you so much. I'll be there in forty-five minutes."

"Why so long?" Sabrina asked, not feeling happy about the timeline since she hoped to see him earlier.

Robin explained truthfully, "I used to sleep in the office before, but I told you I moved back to the villa."

Sabrina understood that his office was closer to hers and even the mansion, but something else caught her attention, and she asked,

"Oh...wait...what happened to the penthouse?"

Robin smiled dryly before saying, "Sabrina, life without you was never the same."

Sabrina guessed what he was going to say and quickly cut him off, "I'll see you later, Robin. Like I said, you have to work harder."

The call ended, but Robin was still smiling as another call came through.

"Robin, the signs are getting stronger, and it's possible we might have to set off this evening."

It was Daniel, but for some reason, Robin wasn't happy to pursue that hacker just yet.

He and Sabrina were getting closer, and he was enjoying it so much that he didn't want to be away from her.

"Are you coming to pick up Lizzy?" Robin asked.

"Yes," Daniel responded hastily as Robin said,

"Then let's talk when you get here."

"Alright."
