Chapter 282 - Let's go. I'm tracking them.

Devin's emotions were conflicted because Shandra's father was a mafia kingpin, causing him to worry that she might be involved in dangerous activities.0

Knowing Martin's obsession with Sabrina, Devin trusted that he wouldn't harm her, but he couldn't extend that same trust to Shandra.

Desperate women often resort to desperate measures, and Devin didn't want to take any risks.

"I can't dismiss the possibility that it might be Shandra," Devin said firmly.

Sabrina anxiously awaited his instructions, while he turned to the man holding a gun by his side and asked,

"What is your intention with her?"

He was determined to uncover the mastermind behind it all.

The man grinned after whispering something into an earpiece without a visible code, similar to the ones worn by the men who attempted to kidnap Sabrina at the party.

"Our boss has a message for you."

Just as he finished speaking, Martin emerged from one of the cars accompanied by two more men. Sabrina's heart raced.

She had anticipated this, but the reality of the situation made her feel nauseous.

"The bastard," she muttered under her breath, wishing she had the strength to defend herself against him.

Devin had believed Martin would be a better choice, but seeing him strutting around so arrogantly as a wanted man made him furious. He yelled,

"Martin, you have the audacity to show your face in public? The police are nearby."

Martin smirked and walked over to the passenger side, giving Sabrina a smile before turning to Devin.

"If they catch me, you'll never see your sister again. As soon as we hear their sirens, blood will be spilled. Whose blood will it be?" Martin taunted.

Devin abruptly ended his call to alert the police, angry at himself for ever trusting Martin and calling him a best friend.

"Why are you doing this, Martin?" Sabrina asked, regretting not following her instincts and avoiding any dealings with him.

"Marry me, Sabrina. That's all I want," Martin said, causing Sabrina to cringe and feel nauseous.

"I'd rather die. Why don't you just shoot me?" she said fearlessly.

She would rather die than give Martin what he desired.

Devin feared that Martin's madness might lead him to harm his pregnant sister so despite her reluctance, he pleaded,

"Please, Sabrina, just go with them. I'll figure something out."

He unlocked the door, but Sabrina hesitated when Martin opened the door and extended his hand to her.

"Are you sure about this?" Sabrina whispered anxiously, her heart pounding in her chest.

She couldn't help but miss Robin, knowing that Martin wouldn't have attempted this if Robin were present.

"I promise. I don't have a gun, and I can't take on more than two men at once. There are eight armed men, including Martin," he explained, referring to Martin as the ninth person.

"Okay."

Sabrina held onto the hope that if Robin returned, he would find her wherever she was and come to her rescue.

Martin opened the door to one of the other cars, signaling for her to get in. As soon as she sat down, Devin felt the air escaping from his tires.

Martin had instructed his men to deflate his car tires, preventing him from following them.

"You son of a bitch," Devin hissed.

He had told Sabrina to go because he intended to follow them and seek help. But now, he felt helpless, overwhelmed by the whole situation.

Martin, with a sinister smile, taunted him, saying,

"Tell Robin that he will never see Sabrina again because I'm taking her out of the country."

Devin couldn't help but laugh, knowing that Martin's plan to leave the country was impossible.

After all, Martin was wanted by the police. Devin retorted,

"I will tell you what I told Robin, Martin. I will kill you myself."

Martin laughed, oblivious to the danger he was in. He had everything planned, but he failed to see the possibility of his own downfall. Coldly, he responded,

"Why don't you rescue your sister first? And mind you, if I hear a police siren, I will shoot her and then shoot myself. I'm not ready to go down alone."

Martin sat beside Sabrina, and the four cars drove away in a convoy.

Devin's tires had been deflated, rendering him unable to chase after them.

Fearful of Martin's warning, he hesitated to involve the police.

However, he remembered that Sabrina had recently dialed her secretary's number, which meant that they could potentially track her location.

Stepping out of the car, Devin was just about to contact a hacker he knew when he received a call from Robin.

Without waiting for Robin to inquire, Devin urgently spoke up, relief evident in his voice, "Robin, thank God you're back. Martin has taken Sabrina."

Hearing Robin's voice restored the hope that Devin had nearly lost, as silence settled over them like a thick fog.

The silence lingered for a while as Robin processed the shocking information.

If it had been anyone else, Robin might have suspected their involvement with Martin, but knowing that Devin was Sabrina's brother and that they shared a deep love for each other, Robin couldn't fathom such a betrayal.

"How did this happen?" Robin asked, his voice filled with pain and confusion.

Devin felt a wave of guilt wash over him, but he knew deep down that he had made the right decision by allowing Sabrina to go.

Little did he know that once they had crossed a certain threshold, even Sabrina's phone would lose signal.

"It just happened a few minutes ago. We were ambushed, and he threatened to kill her and himself if he heard a police siren," Martin reported.

On the other side of the line, Robin's face flushed with rage. However, he soon calmed down, realizing that Martin would have a difficult time fleeing the country.

Since the incident had occurred recently, there was still a glimmer of hope.

"Where are you right now?" Robin inquired.

"I'm about 500 meters away from the mansion. He punctured all my tires," Devin disclosed.

"Don't worry, I'll arrange for someone to come and pick you up," Robin assured him.

While they were conversing on the phone, a car pulled up in front of Devin, and a woman spoke urgently,

"Let's go. I'm tracking them."
