Chapter 289 – How are you going to stop me…

After ending the call and powering off his phone, Martin's actions infuriated Robin internally.  2

He began plotting what he would do to Martin once he finally managed to confront him.

Devin had already alerted the police, and Daniel had released the information to the press, putting all security agencies on high alert.

Although Robin was confident that Martin wouldn't be able to escape the state, he couldn't help but worry about Sabrina's well-being, especially with Mara involved.

Relying on the tracker, Robin desperately hoped that his assumptions were correct and that he would reach them soon.

He pushed his driving skills to the limit, surpassing any speed he had ever driven before, in an attempt to catch up to them.

Why did things have to take this turn just when his relationship with Sabrina was starting to improve?

Robin vowed that Martin would never leave the state with her, even if it meant fighting to the death.

Shortly after, Devin called him with distressing news. "Robin, we've lost their signal. We can no longer track them."

Robin checked his tracker and realized it had disconnected, indicating that they had crossed the rock.

"I think I know where they are," Robin said, adding, "I have access. Tell Laura to drive faster or you take the wheel and follow my lead. I won't wait for more than five minutes."

"We'll catch up to you," Devin replied before ending the call. Robin then dialed Daniel's number and spoke confidently,

"They are in the mansion."

Daniel felt uneasy as he was quite a distance away from Robin. He knew that the sooner either of them arrived, the better it would be for everyone involved.

"And you're the only one with the sensor. If you leave, we won't be able to get in."

Robin carefully considered the options. This situation was risky, especially with a pregnant woman involved, and the presence of both Martin and Mara added to the complexity.

He also had a feeling that the men who had ambushed Devin might be present, which is why he needed backup.

"How far away are you from me?" Robin asked, his mind filled with worry for Sabrina's safety, piercing his heart.

"Five kilometers."

"Please hurry," Robin urged Daniel, knowing that he was already close.

When Robin reached the rocks that disrupted the signals, he didn't cross but instead waited.

Crossing that boundary would prevent Laura, Devin, or Daniel from being able to track him.

Devin had called for an ambulance, just in case Sabrina had been injured in any way due to Martin's craziness.

It was hard for him to believe that he had once been friends with someone so mentally unstable.

The few minutes of waiting at the rock for Robin felt like an eternity until his hope sparked when he spotted Devin and Laura.

Laura stopped beside him and disclosed, "Sir, the men he hired are from the same agency as me."

"Why didn't you inform me earlier?" Robin inquired, not waiting for a response before dialing the agency. "This is client 0105."

Just as the operator picked up, the signal abruptly jammed, leaving Robin unable to hear anything.

Frustrated, he sighed, fearing that Daniel wouldn't be able to locate them. Just as he was about to consider driving back, he caught sight of Daniel's car in the distance.

"Laura, I intended to contact the agency to bring them in, but the network is jammed. I have a group of army men. You can collaborate with them in case those assailants who ambushed Devin and Sabrina are still present."

Well noted, sir," Laura said, stepping on the accelerator as soon as Robin drove away and Daniel approached.

The area was mountainous and the road rugged, but these men and woman didn't care about their own lives; their only concern was rescuing Sabrina and bringing Martin to justice.

As they reached the dark tunnel, they realized they couldn't communicate with each other via phone and had to rely on following Robin's tail lights until they arrived at a garage.

"Why did we end up here?" Devin asked as he stepped out of the car. He had expected to see a gate and police presence, but there was nothing of the sort.

"That's how he manages to elude the police. This is his secret entrance to his mansion," Robin explained, recalling what Peter had told him.

Does this mean that the police and everyone else from earlier are being directed to a different entrance?" Laura asked, her astonishment evident as she admired the house's design.

Robin nodded his head. He was in search of the signal's source when a group of men, who seemed to be from the same agency as Laura, suddenly appeared.

"This is private property. What is your purpose here?" they demanded, recognizing Devin and approaching him.

However, Laura glanced at Robin and said,

"Please locate Sabrina. I will handle them."

"Robin, come this way," Daniel directed, utilizing a different device to pinpoint the location Robin was searching for.

As soon as he presented the sensor to it, an alarm beeped.

I'll handle it," Daniel assured, and Robin nodded in agreement.

He stepped into a woman's closet, overwhelmed by the abundance of female clothing surrounding him from every direction. The closet was huge because It was also as secret entry and exit.

Following the map he had studied in the helicopter prior to their arrival, Robin approached the final door.

Taking a deep breath, he pushed it open, only to be confronted by Martin attempting to escape.

Filled with anger, Robin summoned his strength and delivered a powerful punch to Martin's face, causing him to stagger backwards and see stars.

To his astonishment, Sabrina then embraced him tightly, her perfume enveloping him. The whispered words she spoke to him were the most incredible he had ever heard in his entire life.

Robin, I knew you would come," Sabrina exclaimed, her voice filled with joy.

Robin couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction that Sabrina had been expecting him instead of Devin.

It was a rare sight to see her smile so genuinely, and it warmed his heart. He held her tightly against his chest, relishing in her calming scent.

However, their tender moment was abruptly interrupted when Martin abruptly stood up, his face contorted with rage, envy and jealousy. "

Robin, this is my territory," he spat, his voice dripping with hostility. "I won't allow you to leave."

Robin's anger surged, his eyes narrowing as he glared at Martin. "And how do you plan on stopping me when you're already dead?" he retorted, his tone icy and devoid of any warmth.
