[Bonus chapter]Chapter 290 – Mara, NO!

Martin was filled with dread as he recalled the cruel actions Robin had inflicted upon Zayla.  1

He knew that his own demise was imminent. If Robin were to make a safe exit with Sabrina, Martin was well aware that law enforcement would swiftly intervene.

Consequently, he needed to devise a plan, but Robin was unwilling to leave until Martin had been apprehended.

Despite his own peril, Robin's primary concern was Sabrina's safety and finding a means to extricate her from this dangerous situation.

With his arms still securely wrapped around her waist, he inquired, "Do you remember the way you came from?"

Sabrina nodded in affirmation, but Robin suddenly recollected that Devin, Laura, and Daniel had yet to arrive, despite the cessation of the alarm.

This indicated that a conflict was still ongoing, and he couldn't jeopardize Sabrina's well-being.

"Don't worry. Just stay here. Devin is around, but there is still a fight happening," he reassured her calmly.

Sabrina felt a twinge of anxiety, pondering whether the battle was unfolding in their favor. However, with Robin by her side, she couldn't help but feel a sense of security.

Mara was aware of another exit, but she couldn't leave without Martin.

She also knew that with Robin catching up to them, Martin wouldn't be able to bring Sabrina along.

However, it remained a mystery to her how Robin had managed to find her secret chamber. She would think about that later, once she had escaped.

"Martin, leave the bitch and let's…" Mara pleaded.

Before she could finish speaking, she received the same blow as Martin. Losing her balance, she hit the edge of a chair and rolled onto the floor.

Robin's expression was horrifying. "That's for disrespecting my wife," he said coldly.

Sabrina couldn't help but feel a sense of detachment. After the fear that Martin and Mara had put her through, she didn't want them to live, fearing they would harm her if given the chance. As a result, she felt no pity for Mara.

Mara's body was wracked with pain, causing tears to stream down her face. The punch she had received was nothing compared to the agony radiating from her waist and abdomen.

The pain intensified when she felt dampness spreading through her pants, the fabric unable to contain the flow. Gritting her teeth, Mara's fear grew as she realized she was bleeding.

"Martin, I need a doctor. We're losing our baby," she pleaded, her voice filled with desperation.

Martin's eyes darkened, his anger evident as he processed the fact that Robin had struck his sister in their own home.

Despite his resentment towards Mara, the thought of losing his chance to become a father left him feeling helpless. He rushed to Mara's side, attempting to lift her from the floor.

Robin was taken aback by Martin's lack of surprise upon hearing about the baby.

"So, you already knew she was pregnant with your child. Are you also aware that she was sleeping with her hacker?" Robin sneered, mocking the situation.

This was the first time he had ever hit a woman, but he didn't feel guilty about it. He believed he had no other choice but to teach her a lesson after she disrespectfully addressed Sabrina.

Martin froze, his gaze filled with disappointment, questioning whether he truly knew Mara or if Robin was intentionally trying to confuse him. "

"Don't speak about things you don't understand," he snapped at Robin, gently carrying Mara and placing her on the bed.

"I know what I'm saying. If you don't believe me, ask her," Robin challenged him.

Martin turned to Mara and asked, "Is it true?"

Sabrina couldn't help but smirk mockingly as she sarcastically replied,

"You're so foolish, Martin. Everything we've told you is true, and she has lied to you multiple times, yet you still seek the truth from her."

Robin looked at her with a gentle expression and inquired, "Did someone harm you?"

Martin trembled, desperately hoping that Sabrina would keep silent, but his hopes were dashed as she began recounting every detail.

"Yes. Mara was just about to stab me with a knife before that jerk showed up. And it's not like he saved me, because he was the one who tied me up despite my pleas. He even yanked my hair, and my scalp still burns."

She turned to Martin, her eyes filled with pain, and continued,

"When I was with Robin, he never caused me physical harm. But after spending less than an hour with you, my scalp is still throbbing."

Martin's lips tightened, remorse etched on his face. "I'm sorry," he muttered.

Meanwhile, Robin's expression turned ghastly, his anger boiling within him.

Seeing Sabrina smile and embrace him earlier, he had no clue about the torment she had endured.

He never expected it, especially since the jerk had claimed to love her.

"It's too late for apologies," Robin said icily, his voice dripping with disdain.

He then turned to Martin and issued a chilling ultimatum,

"You better come quietly with us, or I'll make sure you regret it."

He knew that the general's torture room was still available for his use, and as for these two, Robin had no intention of letting them face trial. His only desire was to torture them to death.

Martin took a step forward without responding, but Robin watched him carefully. Mara was in pain, yet no one paid her any attention, not even the usually soft-hearted Sabrina.

As soon as Robin realized that Martin was reaching for the gun on the nightstand, he quickly pushed Sabrina away, creating a distance between them. Just before Martin could grab the gun, Robin kicked it out of his reach.

As the two men began to fight, Sabrina pondered how she could assist Robin, but he already had the upper hand, mercilessly beating Martin out of anger.

Sabrina had always despised violence, but she couldn't help feeling a sense of satisfaction as she witnessed Martin finally facing the consequences of his actions.

His constant threats and the danger he had posed to her life and that of her unborn twins had pushed her to the edge.

She knew that if Robin hadn't arrived in the nick of time, Martin would have followed through with his sinister promises. This realization left her devoid of any sympathy for him.

Martin's face was a mess of blood, his groans growing weaker with each punch.

However, Robin's focus shifted away from Devin's desire for revenge and the general's pursuit of Mara. In that moment, all he wanted was to end both of their lives right then and there, before making his escape.

But his intentions were interrupted by a piercing shriek from Sabrina.

"Mara, NO!"

Amidst the chaos of the brawl, the gun had fallen within Mara's reach. She swiftly picked it up and pulled the trigger, but who ended up being hit?
