Chapter 214 – Wife, not ex-wife
1"To destroy everything, he holds dear."
Devin was happy about the statement because that was what he wanted too but was still curious to know exactly what Robin planned to do with Martin.
"How do you intend to do that?" He asked seriously, Robin leaned back, checked a contact on his phone, and said,
"Just a minute."
He put a call through to the General, who answered it almost immediately.
"Robin, how are you?" He asked in a relaxed tone.
No matter how calm he sounded, Robin did not forget that he was still a busy man and could even be anywhere at the moment.
It was his special number Robin called him on.
"I'm doing very well, uncle. I have some criminals I don't want to go easy on. Their bodies must be cut in pieces and spread around the world so that even if they get the chance for a second life, it would never be possible for them to come back to their original bodies," Robin said coldly.
The phone line went silent but the general's breathing was an assurance that he was still on the line.
"Son, this is a serious matter. Who and who are you talking about? Don't forget about the law," the general advised.
Robin chuckled and responded,
"Mara and her brother, Martin. Also, Zayla and her father."
Among the people mentioned, the one of greatest concern for the general was Mara because of what she did to Matilda, for which reason the General took a keen interest.
"You have a bucket full but have you gotten Mara's location?" He asked, ready to send some of his men there to get her.
"No, but I'm a bit relaxed because of my wife's birthday party in two days, to which I already extended an invitation to you." Robin went cold, as he continued to speak, "After that, I would find her even if she is hiding in the sky or the sea."
The general was impressed because he did not want to go easy on Mara either but Devin had taken a key interest in the conversation at the mention of the name Mara.
Though he had questions to ask Robin, he did not interrupt, waiting for them to end the call first.
"The level of death you want means it has to be done secretly, as nobody is above the law."
Robin went into deep thought at the statement. If he wanted them killed secretly, then he wouldn't need the general's help.
It was because he wanted them exposed before being killed.
The world must be wary of the existence of evil people like that.
"But I want her exposed and have her confession go viral as well," he stated.
Whilst Devin listened to the conversation, now knowing what the general was saying since the phone was not on speaker, he remembered the general advising him to be open-minded.
Then it clicked that the general had also been aware, just like his father, that Mara was still alive.
He hated himself for trusting Martin like a second skin and wished to roast the idiot alive.
"In that case, it would be better to expose and process them to court. After their jail term, we would work around doing as you have said. That way, the populace wouldn't know," the general suggested from the end of the line.
Robin learned after a little thought that it was a good idea since they get to face double punishment.
"I will take your suggestion and will first go ahead to have Martin arrested. We can use him to get to his sister, Mara."
The general's countenance changed at the other side of the line.
"If you had told me before that Mara had a brother, he wouldn't have been alive by now."
Robin sighed and explained,
"It's just that he was a good friend of my wife and she never believed me any time I told her to stay away from him. If I had touched him at a time like that, she would have hated me forever."
The general was happy that he used the word wife without the ex, which meant that he meant to get Sabrina back.
"I see. I will see you at the party."
Robin knew the general wanted to get off the line and quickly asked him,
"Are you coming with some of your men?"
The general already knew what he wanted and responded,
"I usually move with four. Will they be enough?" He asked seriously, Robin smiled,
"With their level of expertise, I have no doubt."
"Wonderful," the general exclaimed.
"Thank you, General."
"You are welcome, son."
When Robin ended the call, he said to Devin, "Since you are his best friend, I guess you can get him arrested. You have enough evidence to do so."
Devin felt ashamed but could not help admitting,
"I don't even know his house."
Robin's brows raised from the shock of hearing those words from him. Then he asked seriously,
"Are you even best friends?"
Devin was very embarrassed and thought to explain,
"We are both busy managing companies so we usually only meet for lunch."
Robin could still not believe his lame excuse. He lost count of the number of times he went to Daniel's house and how Daniel frequented his before when he was married to Sabrina.
It was only when Zayla came into the picture that Daniel would only come to his office unless Robin had asked him to do something for him at the penthouse.
"How many years have you been best friends?" Robin asked sarcastically but Devin did not want to continue talking about it, especially after seeing Martin's true character.
"Robin, if you have his address, can you just give it? Please?"
Robin paused and said,
"Send the cops to his company."
Devin frowned, not thinking it was a good idea.
"I doubt he will be there."
"If you don't find him there, then I will give you, his address," Robin assured him but Devin was confused and asked,
"I don't understand. If you were faced with a situation like this, would you be able to come to the office?"
