[Bonus chapter]Chapter 215 – A lovesick teenager
Robin knew that Martin would not be at the office but was only trying to prove a point.0
"The video has caused a huge blow to his company already so if he doesn't appear to resolve issues, it won't survive."
"That is the reason why I suggest that you send the cops there first. The warrant of arrest with their presence would cause panic among his staff and most of them would resign."
If more people resigned without replacements as soon as possible, then the reputation of the company would also be at stake.
Robin was not leaving any stone unturned and the more Devin understood his plans, the greater his respect for the former.
"In that case, he would either leave the company to rot and lose billions or come out to face the shame and still get arrested. Both ways, it wouldn't look good," he analyzed thoughtfully, Robin smiled,
"It's good you figured it out."
Since Devin arrived at a conclusion concerning Martin, his focus has now shifted to Mara.
All along, he never suspected the relationship between her and Martin because every time he expressed his anger about that incident, Martin would sympathize with him and even feign being upset with Mara.
"What level have you reached with Mara?"
"She's dead."
A frown settled on Robin's face whilst he spoke, feeling that Devin would not believe anything he had to say about the evil woman.
Devin shook his head but was not annoyed.
"Matilda told me everything Robin, how you sent all those shreds of evidence. I know that Mara is alive and I want to kill her myself."
Devin's revelation was unexpected to Robin but he figured that it was because Devin saw Martin for who he was that he became more open-minded.
However, something crossed Robin's mind and he said,
"I will only give you information about her if you promise to do me two favors."
"Anything," Devin promised without thinking.
He needed information about Mara like his life depended on it but Robin meant to take advantage of the situation.
"Daniel has been teaching me how to cook for a few weeks now but he doesn't know how to prepare many dishes. I need your help," he revealed.
He was not sure as to whether or not Devin knew how to cook but since he was Sabrina's elder brother and Sabrina cooked very well, he only guessed.
If Devin indeed knew how to cook, Robin felt that he would know better the things Sabrina liked and teach him those.
With Daniel, he was just learning how to cook simple dishes but not any specific ones like he desired to learn from Devin.
"Why would you want to learn how to cook?" Devin's brows knit together at the question and Robin responded with a smile,
"I want to surprise Sabrina."
When talking about Sabrina, he looked like a lovesick teenager.
Devin laughed.
"You have a lot of chefs," he pointed out, wondering why Robin would not let any of them including the one who sent food to the mansion every day for Sabrina to teach him.
Robin did not mind explaining it to him.
"I figured it would be good that I know a lot of things before seeking their help to perfection. I don't want to be laughed at."
After a second pause, he added again,
"Also, they don't know what Sabrina specifically likes. Pregnancy might make her take a liking to some delicacies so whatever she might be asking for now, might not be her favorite."
Devin could not stop laughing, since Robin said he did not want to be laughed at.
"I'm laughing."
"But you are family. It's different from an employee," Robin shook his head, not regretting asking for the favor.
Devin knew he was right because most of the dishes he prepared were those they learned together from their late mother.
No matter the expensive dishes Robin sent over based on Sabrina's request, Devin was sure that she still enjoyed his meals more because of the memories attached to them.
Robin indeed made a good decision by opting to learn from two different people.
Aside from Devin needing information about Mara, he also wanted his sister to be happy so he agreed,
"Alright. Just choose your date and time so what is the next item on the list?" He asked since Robin mentioned two favors, being eager to know whether the second favor was going to be as funny as the first one but froze at Robin's request.
"You have to bring Sabrina to the party."
Devin was confused at this part, wondering if Robin did not want to attend the event, he was organizing by himself, which wouldn't be a good idea.
"It's her birthday and you are the one organizing it," he pointed out but Robin explained truthfully,
"I have to make sure that Zayla and her father are there."
Initially, Devin was upset but upon remembering what his father said that Robin might have something in his sleeves, he relaxed, wanting to use the opportunity to get a hint of what he was up to.
"Robin, please tell me everything. I'm on your side and I will help you as much as I can. I already know about the diamonds."
Robin stiffened at Devin's confession.
"Does Sabrina know too?" He asked seriously since that might ruin his surprise if she indeed knew.
"No. It's just me because I refused to let my father rest until he told me everything," Devin said, not wanting Robin to think that his father was unable to keep secret the things Robin told him.
If Cobby already told Devin about it, then it only meant that he trusted Devin to keep the secret as well and revealed it after a little thought,
"Okay. The original diamonds are safe but I gave Zayla some fake ones because she knew about its existence."
Devin tried to understand Robin's reason for making that move.
"Why do you have to come up with fake ones?" He asked and Robin explained,
"She wanted the villa because of it. She and her father would do anything to get it and since I don't know who else is aware, I made them feel that the diamonds were fake so they have no idea that the original diamonds exist and to prevent theft," he concluded before adding,
"That is what I want everyone to think."
There was something else bothering Devin's mind and he wondered if Robin would be honest with him but in the end, he gathered momentum and asked…
