Chapter 224 - If Sabrina gives me another chance...
1"Could Robin be the one behind the videos? If anything at all, he is the only one with the resources to get them."
Mara smiled a little when she saw the fear on Martin's face and used it against him.
"Since you already guessed, I don't think you should go out until we confirm how good the new hacker is."
Martin sighed thoughtfully and said,
"Mara, no matter what, I have to be at the party, even if I have to disguise myself."
Mara raged but realized a flaw in his plan and pointed out,
"But you don't have an invitation."
"There are still ways around it so I will be at the party," Martin said with determination, making Mara frown.
She wanted to be at the party as well and did not know how that was going to be possible with Martin there.
Now it seemed that since Martin was not going to work, she would be bedridden for real.
A few hours later, there was more news about the Dane industries, as a lot of Martin's workers resigned with immediate effect.
They could not stand the shame that overcame the prestige from before.
As Robin watched the news to his satisfaction, he was certain this time that Martin would not come into the open and had to use Daniel to get his exact location so he put a call through to Daniel.
"What is the status of Mara?" He asked as soon as Daniel answered the call.
Daniel paused for a while before replying,
"Honestly Robin, I've been a bit relaxed because of the party. If we get the hacker now, you know we have to set off immediately and I know that you can't miss the party too."
Robin had forgotten that piece of the puzzle and was happy that Daniel reminded him.
"You are right but are the signs good?" He asked, not wanting what happened the last time to happen again and this time, Daniel smiled at the end of the line before responding,
"Very good."
Robin was elated and instructed,
"Okay, then please get to work as soon as it's done. I will spend the night at the penthouse today but that will be after I go to see Sabrina this evening."
Hearing about Sabrina, thoughts about Lizzy quickly outranked Daniel's mind and he asked,
"Can I come along? I want to see Lizzy."
Robin frowned a little, feeling that Daniel's request sounded weird, and asked him,
"Can't you wait till the party?"
He felt it was the best time for Daniel to have all the time with Lizzy since this time, the hotel was his, and all his staff there would be at work so he was sure that nothing would go wrong.
Daniel thought to remind him,
"How can I wait when I have to help you at the party?"
Yeah, Daniel had a few things to do, just like that general but then, there would be a lot of time after Robin deals with Zayla for fun activities to happen.
"What about after?" Robin asked.
There was a long pause at the end of the line and Robin was about to ask if Daniel was still there before the latter revealed,
"Robin, to be honest with you, I didn't want to disturb you because of all the issues on your neck but Lizzy has not been answering my calls or messages for a week now."
Robin was perplexed at the news since he always thought that things were perfect between the duo. He asked seriously,
"Is there a problem?"
Daniel never hides anything from Robin and vice versa so he went ahead to narrate everything.
"No. Our last date was fine but when I asked her out again after that, she did not seem interested and kept saying that she was busy."
Robin could not believe that this was happening.
If his relationship was messed up, then that was his fault but he felt that Daniel did not deserve this since he has always been against cheating in marriage from the onset.
He only womanized because he was single and not in any serious relationship.
Robin also remembered how Daniel kept talking about Lizzy from the moment he set eyes on her.
It was something he never did about any other girl before.
"That isn't a good sign. Did you do anything to upset her?" He asked seriously since he could not think of any other reason why things would turn out that way.
He was also afraid that should Lizzy hate Daniel or something, it might influence Sabrina's decisions concerning him as well.
"I never even hugged her," Daniel revealed and Robin sighed with relief but was also amazed.
"That is extreme. If she went on five dates with you, it means she likes you after the first time so you should have broken the ice after the second or third time with a hug or a kiss."
Daniel chuckled at the end of the line. It was not as if he did not want to but,
"Considering my reputation with women, I don't know the perception she has about me so I was afraid of messing things up. I just wanted to give her more time," he explained but Robin felt that that was the problem.
"I guess you rather messed it up by being too much of a gentleman. Without those things, she might also have the idea that all you want is friendship."
Daniel agreed with Robin's analysis but having known his best friend, Daniel would not have been surprised if the advice only pertained to business.
For it to be based on a relationship, was a great shock to him.
"Robin, since when did you become a relationship expert?" Daniel asked in an amused tone but Robin replied seriously,
"Unlike you, I hunt before I eat. I've been doing a lot of research about relationships aside from learning how to cook. If Sabrina gives me another chance, I want her to see how much I have changed for her."
