Chapter 118 – Going to the mansion with Sabrina.
"I am taking you home. You just have to give me your address."
Sabrina was about to refuse again when a knock sounded behind the door. Robin already guessed it would be the night doctor since he had the discharge forms with him and let him in. They had to remove Sabrina's intravenous cannula too.
"How are you, Sabrina?"
This was the first time Sabrina was seeing this doctor throughout the three days she spent there. Her doctor had ended her shift.
"I'm very well, Doctor. Is it time for me to get discharged?" She asked hopefully, and the doctor nodded his head,
"Yes. After he signs the discharge forms. But your next review will be in a week. I will remove your cannula now."
Sabrina was excited while Robin continued to read through the documents attached to the discharge form since it included Sabrina's medical history. This time around, he did not want to miss out on anything important.
He also took note of the fact that they had to go for another review in a week and planned on adjusting his schedule to bring her himself.
"Sabrina!"
The door pushed open without a knock, and Lizzy yelled from the entrance while walking in with her father.
Devin and Matilda joined soon after from behind, and Sabrina could not help but notice the glow on Matilda's face.
Also, Devin looked too happy. Was it because she was discharged? Sabrina kept thinking about the whole thing, which kept getting stranger and stranger to her.
Matilda walked around, hugged her tightly, and said,
"Brina, we are here to take you home."
Sabrina was lucky that the cannula was already out of her wrist and was replaced by a small plaster.
"Sabrina, I think you should stay at the mansion," her father said. He had enough maids to be at her beck and call and serve her meals timely.
Now that her pregnancy was growing, her father was concerned. Devin was doing a good job, but he was also running a company and could forget little things.
Whereas the maids were paid full-time and would even ensure that Sabrina carried both her breakfast and lunch to the office together.
Whereas Sabrina was worried about Matilda, feeling that the latter would not be comfortable if she was left alone with Devin.
"Dad, I can't leave Matilda alone."
Robin was handling the discharge forms while the family chatted carelessly. He felt a little left out after signing it and being sure that he now had Sabrina's health record in his mind like the back of his hands.
"I'll come with you," Matilda suggested since Sabrina's only worry was her, but somebody did not like that suggestion.
"No, you won't," Devin quickly said, getting everyone's attention. He was not nervous or anything when all eyes were pinned on him but rather had a proud and satisfied look.
"Devin, why can't she come to the mansion?" His father smiled and asked while Robin let out a sly smile.
Devin did not want to keep his relationship with Matilda a secret anyway. He only thought to announce it at the right time, and now it seemed like the right time since the whole family was together except for one person.
"Dad, Lizzy, and Sabrina, Matilda is officially my girlfriend from now."
"What?" Sabrina was shocked, but Lizzy was relieved and went to hug Matilda whiles she whispered in her ears,
"You did it."
Cobby was surprised at how fast Devin acted upon his advice. He knew Devin would consider it but did not expect such a fast outcome.
"No, he confessed that he was in love with me," Matilda whispered back, and Lizzy stared at her brother and asked,
"Devin, how long have you been in love with her?"
Everyone gave their attention to hear his response as he lowered his head and replied, "From the moment I saw her about nine years ago."
Sabrina's jaw was almost hitting the ground when Robin teased her, "Dear one, you look too shocked. Why don't you tighten your cute lips first?"
Everyone was shocked by how he addressed Sabrina, and she felt her face heat up at the fact that he said so in front of her whole family.
Whereas no one spoke, and Sabrina clamped her mouth shut before she gritted her teeth and said to Robin,
"Don't call me that."
Some people chuckled, and others giggled while Lizzy said, "The mansion is big enough. Let's all go there because I have a surprise for Sabrina and Lizzy, and I have to deliver a dress too."
Her phone beeped at the same time she finished with her suggestion, but knowing she was going to deliver the dress to Daniel, Devin refused. Since Daniel was in love with his sister, he should shamelessly come and pick the dress for the so-called girlfriend he bought it for.
"You are not delivering any dress. Send someone," he said in an irritated tone. Lizzy sighed. At least she wanted to indeed go there and see if Daniel indeed had a girlfriend, so she insisted whiles checking the text message that dropped,
"It's against work ethics, and he paid for it."
As she was talking, her eyes glazed over the message on her phone, and disappointment filled her heart. 'I went on a short business trip, so kindly bring the dress to the party. I will pick it from there.'
She smiled bitterly and said, "Change of plans. No need for the delivery. I will just take it to the party because the client is out on a business trip."
"Good," Devin said assuringly. This time, he intended to have a man-to-man talk with Daniel since he just confirmed he'd be at the party.
With everything going on, Robin felt neglected and was not one whose presence could be ignored just like that.
"If you are all going to the mansion, then I'm coming too. I want to see the environment since I will be visiting every morning and evening during weekends, but on weekdays, I will be at her office," he said in a domineering tone which meant he was not going to back down.
