Chapter 240 – Robin and Sabrina’s guilt

Kennedy was in pain like he never felt in his miserable life before, wondering how his daughter would be so callous to have let out such important and confidential information.1

If they were even processed before the court for Zayla's crimes, it would not have warranted a long jail term since there was no life involved but now, Zayla has destroyed him for good, just by letting out that information.

He also knew it would be hopeless to keep denying it, just by seeing how the angry monsters were not pitying him in his painful state but rather seemed to be wanting more pain inflicted on him.

"He would stop if you tell us the truth," Robin said in a slightly calm tone, confirming Kennedy's thoughts. 

Kennedy knew that the truth would cause him more trouble but the intensity of the pain he was already going through, did not allow him to stand his ground.

"Okay, okay," the middle-aged man screamed with tears in his eyes, looking pathetic but no one took pity on him.

"I made a call in your father's office when he was out, talking to somebody about the diamonds he told me about."

Kennedy was crying like a baby in the course of his narration, everyone paid close attention to him and the words coming out of his mouth, feeling that it would be the final piece to everything ongoing. 

"I didn't know that your mother was in your father's inner office and she heard me until I heard her telling your father about it." 

Robin having an inner room in his office was something he learned from his father, who used the inner room to destress, and sometimes, Robin's mother would even rest there anytime she went to visit.

It was just sad that Robin had changed the concept, using his, as a place to release his sexual tension before but even that had changed. 

He was now only using it as a bedroom but would no longer have to sleep there after tonight since everything was clear between him and the bitch and he would no longer have to look over his shoulders for fear of gossip that might affect Sabrina.

"It's the reason why I gave her the slow poison even though your father did not believe her." 

"I was afraid he would kick me out of his life and I would not have access to knowing anything about the diamond anymore," Kennedy explained.

Cobby was in tears at how his best friend's wife was killed just because of mere diamonds. 

These snakes have been in their lives for so long but it was such a pity that they were just knowing about it. 

"Look, I was solely in need of the diamonds but sadly, they are even fake," Kennedy concluded, and the auditorium went silent. 

They had never seen or met people as heartless as Kennedy and his daughter in their short or long lives before.

Robin had one final question before deciding on their fate.

"So, is that the reason why you brought your daughter back?"

Robin could not believe that the father and daughter manipulation began with his late father and mother.

At this point, he did not know whom to blame, since his father already blamed himself in the letter, and pleaded for revenge, even without making mention of it.

It was like a seed sown in Robin's family but Sabrina was equally affected by it, enduring all the pain that came with it.

"Yes. Her meeting you was not an accident. I told her about the places you liked to be and it was easy for her to meet you again," Kennedy answered like an obedient child since he could not even move his right hand without suffering intense pain.

He could also discern that any wrong move and his whole body would suffer the same pain. 

Sabrina felt so lost, not knowing what to do in a situation like this anymore and not understanding the reason why Robin did all this on her birthday.

She did not feel any form of happiness, especially after hearing about how Robin's mother was eliminated so easily and how she fell for Zayla's niceness and took her as a friend, letting out her secrets to her.

If she had not told Zayla about Robin's predicament, she would not have had the opportunity to mess up both their lives. 

Sabrina could not help the guilt lying on her chest but then again, everything had begun with Robin's late father, who accepted Kennedy as a friend.

In the end, only confusion, regret, and pain dominated her thoughts.

"I see. So Zayla, how did we end up in the same room that day, and did I take advantage of you?" Robin asked and Zayla's head, which was already lowered, refused to look up for him to read her facial expressions.

However, he could not help feeling that she might pretend to not understand the question and ask directly, 

"Have I ever fucked you, Zayla?" 

Sabrina was suddenly interested in that part, especially when all her life, she made herself believe that Zayla was Robin's first love because of the position in which she saw them years ago.

If Zayla admitted that Robin was never intimate with her, then that would be a great relief.

"No Robin, that night, you were drinking with Daniel at the club and you were telling him that you try your best to fuck your wife every night, even when you are tired but she still had not conceived."

Robin felt ashamed because that was the truth. 

Though he always convinced himself to not want Sabrina, he so desperately wanted a child with her that when it did not happen, his womanizing habits increased, together with his love for alcohol.

Funny enough, he never had the desire to get any other woman pregnant except Sabrina so he would always use protection.

Sabrina shook her head and a bitter smile settled on her lips whilst Zayla continued to say,

"You also said that you did not love her but if she had a child, you could adjust to it."
