Chapter 242 - Robin, what if Sabrina does not take you back
Robin knew that he had to clarify the issue of his presence in Sabrina's because of the pregnancy bit.0
That was what it looked like but not the true story.
As for now, he had no intention of letting Zayla and her father off the hook, though her torture would not begin immediately.
He wanted to witness it himself, for which reason he would have to wait until after the party was over.
When that was over, the court would take over.
"You heard her. She won't take me back so you have to pay for it," Robin said with a painful expression, Zayla grew whiter than before.
Robin stared at the bodyguard, who beckoned for one more bodyguard to join him, as they dragged the father and daughter out of the auditorium on the floor.
It was a very shameful thing to happen to a once prideful father and daughter.
Kennedy was so upset, that he yelled,
"You stupid girl. Have you seen what you have caused?"
Zayla was a crying mess after realizing that Robin lied to her, just as she had been lying to him. This was indeed karma.
"I was only trying to save us," she cried whilst they were being dragged through the entrance with the audience throwing glasses, bottles, or whatever they could find at them, the janitors got busy cleaning the mess.
Even the bodyguards received a few and by the time they reached the car, Kennedy was all bloody from glasses piercing him, his anger burned towards his daughter,
"You are useless," he cursed.
After they left, all attention was now on Robin and Sabrina.
Robin was about to say something when Sabrina cut him off,
"I feel better already. Let the party begin."
Zayla's prediction would not give her back all that she lost but at least, the truth was out of the bag and Zayla would be brought to justice.
That gave something to be celebrated at Sabrina's birthday party.
As the videos were viral, the netizens' comments were terrible, some of them would have killed Zayla and her father if they had seen them
Everyone laughed and the atmosphere was lively again, as Robin beckoned to the MC for the party to indeed begin as Sabrina had requested.
The music was turned up and the party mood was restored after the janitors finished cleaning up the mess.
It was as if nothing had happened a few minutes ago.
"What do you think about the outcome?" the general asked Cobby, the latter went into deep thoughts before he responded,
"It's a good thing he made it public. The netizens' comments would make Sabrina feel better and who knows, she might forgive Robin and take him back but as for Zayla and her father, they are terrible human beings."
"That is an understatement," the general said before somebody hugged him from the back, a calming scent wafted through his nose and he smiled, knowing that it was Matilda.
He pretended to be upset and scolded her a little.
"I thought you had forgotten about your father."
Matilda went around and sat beside him before speaking accusingly,
"You told me that you were going on a mission. Was it successful?
Her father was not going to fall for such a lame excuse.
"The mission was successful but does not mean that you have to keep away. Why do you have all my personal, official, and private numbers?"
Matilda knew she had been caught, feeling guilty and thereby using a different approach.
"I didn't want to disturb you on the mission."
"Because you are happy so you don't need your father anymore, right?" He asked accusingly. Matilda shook her head before responding,
"I would not say it that way."
"Then give me a better way," her father insisted, looking at her with admiration.
His daughter was all grown, right before his eyes and it was too late for him to realize it.
After culinary school, she would also be getting married to Devin, Cobby's step son.
Matilda felt that her father being all too offended by her not checking on him was because of one thing,
"Dad, you are missing mom but I'm not her."
The general let out a bitter smile, missing his late wife and regretting all the times that he was not there for her.
His work always came first and when he thought it was now time to give his family attention too, his wife was already gone so his love transferred to his daughter but Mara brought enmity between them for years and now, it was impossible to have those years back to make it up to her.
"You are right," he agreed. This was the first party he thought to have enjoyed and also knew that it was because of Cobby's company, which made it so.
"I will go back to my seat then," Matilda said and the general agreed,
"Go on."
Whilst the general was chatting with Matilda, Cobby excused himself and went to call Robin,
"Can I ask you something in private?"
"Yes of course, dad," Robin agreed and stood up.
He excused himself and together, they went to an isolated area before Cobby asked, "about the diamonds..."
"You don't have to worry. The originals are there but I just didn't want anyone to know," Robin cut in and explained to remove the confusion on Cobby's mind but Cobby could not help but feel that Robin was just saying it because he did not want the money back.
"Are you sure?" He asked seriously, Robin gave him a nod, going on to assure him,
"I will take Sabrina to see it tomorrow if she gives me the chance."
Pain settled on Robin's face when he spoke.
"Good. I was thinking about returning the money," Cobby revealed but Robin refused it.
If their divorce had followed through the last channel, then Sabrina should have taken half of everything he owned but she took nothing.
"Dad, even if there were no diamonds to begin with, I never intended to take the money back. I equally have shares in the JCs so it's no big deal," Robin said but Cobby was disturbed that Robin was doing it with the hope of getting back Sabrina but what if,
"Robin, what if Sabrina does not take you back?"
