Chapter 246 – Give me your hand  

A day before the party0

"Martin, I agree with you that we should leave New York City for a long time," Mara said. 

The company was in shambles and the police were still looking for Martin. 

Their lives were in jeopardy and Martin could only step out of the mansion under disguise and a false identity.

Besides, if they left, Mara would have Martin all to herself and would be able to tell him about her pregnancy. 

To her dismay, Martin said,

"I changed my mind. I'm not leaving without Sabrina." 

For the past few days, he always looked frustrated, unable to get over his childhood crush but unknown to him, his words were tearing Mara's heart into shreds.

"Are you mad? Do you want to die?" Mara could not hold it in anymore but Martin was even more determined since at first, he could watch Sabrina from afar but with the police on his tail and all, it became impossible for him to get the opportunity to secretly spy on Sabrina and that was killing him.

As Martin imagines his life without Sabrina, just like the years she was married to Robin, he cannot see himself going through it again.

"Yes, I am mad. I am crazy and I will die if I don't have Sabrina. All my life I waited for her. She can only be mine," Martin kept yelling like the mad person he was, grinding the remaining pieces of Mara's heart which he had already broken.

"How will you get her?" Mara asked him, knowing that it was impossible since the only hedge between Sabrina and Robin was going to be removed.

Kennedy already informed her that he was waiting for money from Robin to leave NYC with his daughter, also confessing that Zayla's pregnancy for Robin was faked.

She knew that if someone with resolve like Kenndy had given up, then it was time for her to do the same.

"I intend to kidnap her and beg her until she agrees to be mine," Martin let out his plans, Mara felt like her already broken heart was going to cease working completely.

"She will hate you more and she's pregnant for Robin," Mara reminded him but Martin did not care if all he got was Sabrina's hate. 

He wanted her and that was that.

"I don't care. It's her child too and we shall take care of him or her together."

"Martin, please, let's go. We've already lost too much. Zayla's father said that Robin promised to give Zayla money and after that, they would leave the country for good before Robin finds out that she was not pregnant."

Martin stared at her with shock. 

"You mean that she's not pregnant?"

"Exactly," Mara confirmed, thinking it would discourage Martin but seeing that Robin stood at an even greater advantage because the only person Sabrina hated so much was Zayla, Martin was even more desperate.

"I want Sabrina and I will bring her before we go," he said with confidence. 

He was not going to allow Robin to win this time.

Mara could not convince him and knew he would end up in trouble so she picked up her phone and sent a text message to her new spy, 

'Keep an eye on Martin. Don't let anything happen to him.'

When Martin walked out of Mara's room, he made a few calls with a strange number and got some men on his team, ready for the party the next day.

He and his men arrived at the venue very early in the morning and when a delivery van packed to deliver different kinds of foodstuff, one of Martin's crew joined the people removing the items from the car, blending in as a delivery boy since he already knew the uniform they wore, and made one to look exactly like it.

He used the opportunity to find the secret exit used by the staff and used it to usher in the remaining two men.

They waited until the party started in the evening with Martin communicating with them at the car park.

He gave them one last motivation.

"Like I said, you shall all have 100k each but whoever can bring her, would get an extra 100k to make it to 200k."

The motivation was like honey, dripping down their throat when they got to work. Throughout the event, they could do nothing because of Zayla's incident and only got the opportunity when Robin went to the general's table.

Martin thought things were smooth until Robin returned just as Sabrina was about to give in. 

He kept cursing Robin in his heart for making things so hard for him but was not expecting to see Devin at the car park when one of his men came to take the gift.

Knowing how violent Devin was, he took to his heels and was surprised that Devin was chasing after him.

However, he thought that he stood at a good advantage because of the distance he created between them but that confidence broke when he heard from the distance, 

"It's better you stop running or you'll get hurt." 

Martin had no intention to stop, knowing that Devin would get physical and was not expecting it when excruciating pain, spread through his head the moment something hard hit it, making him dizzy to not see the car coming and his face hit the side of a car door, he rolled and fell on the floor.

Martin knew that Devin would either get him arrested or hand him over to the general to deal with as he did to the guy who messed up his daughter's life with Mara's instruction.

Feeling like his end had come, he saw Devin from his blurry eyes a distance away, who had slowed down from exhaustion. 

The car door opened, and a man said, 

"Give me your hand."

Martin did not know who the man was and was afraid that he might even be working for Robin. 

However, Devin was already close and the man had not stepped out of the car. 

Only his hand was stretched out to him.
