Chapter 250 - For as long as it takes

With a slight difficulty, Robin peeled the hands wrapped around him, his eyes filled with resentment, as he glared at the woman in front of him.0

Sabrina was standing by his side so he could not see her facial expression and the valet had also arrived, giving him his car remote control.

"Who are you and what do you want?"

Disappointment flashed in the woman's eyes and Sabrina was equally confused because she remembered the said woman from Robin's college days. 

He was in his final year whilst Sabrina was in her first year.

Shandra Kane was the most popular girl in college and there were rumors at one point that Robin dated Shandra before they both graduated from college. 

Sabrina had no idea about how their relationship continued after they graduated from college because Robin from then was learning about how to manage the Jewels Company Limited when Sabrina was in her second year.

"Robin, you don't remember me?" Shandra was awed. 

Sabrina was not surprised that she still looked very attractive like her college days when all the popular guys wanted to date her.

Robin was not even looking at the woman who was trying to get his attention and his irritation was only growing since he had to go to the warehouse where Zayla, her father, and the three men Martin sent were held.

"I don't have time. If I know you, I won't pretend." 

He collected the key from the valet and was about to beckon Sabrina when Shandra spoke with consternation,

"Robin, you don't remember Shandra Kane anymore? You got busy with business after school but so did I and my father's Casino was in Las Vegas, for which reason I moved there too."

Robin remembered clearly now. Those were his youthful days when they would bet on who would be able to have the most beautiful woman and Robin always won because of his looks, intelligence, and charisma in sports.

He was very popular in college and all the girls wanted to date him, which was fun then but remembering it now only filled his heart with regret since Shandra was one of those girls. 

Her father was a billionaire with chains of casinos. 

There were even rumors that he was a mafia kingpin but Robin never took those seriously.

"Oh, it's you," he said with a blank expression, Shandra felt like she just saw a ghost and Robin continued to say, 

"You've changed but I have to go." 

He grabbed Sabrina's arm and was leading her down the stairs to the car when Shandra caught up to them.

"Robin, my father opened a new branch here in New York with one of the clubs. I heard that you used to frequent that place. Which is how I was able to find you again and I was also thinking we could have a partnership."

One of the businesses Robin never invested in was entertainment for reasons he could not place a finger on. 

"Sha..Shan…" Robin forgot the name Shandra just mentioned and since he was in a hurry, added, 

"Anyway, it doesn't matter. I'm not here to discuss business but to celebrate my wife. You can book an appointment with my secretary."

For some reason, Sabrina did not remind him about the 'ex' to correct him because she was uncomfortable with Shandra and did not want her close to Robin because she carried an ex-title from college.

Sabrina could also not feel that she was being selfish because, if they were going to be co-parenting, she did not want another woman in the lives of their children.

Robin opened the door for Sabrina and she sat before he closed it for her. 

Walking to the driver's side, Shandra blocked his path and this time, Robin was upset.

He opened his mouth, and at the same time Shandra said,

"Robin, she is your ex-wife."

Robin glared at her and snarled, "I said, she is my wife. Now out of my way."

Shandra's eyes were wide from shock like saucers since she had never seen Robin like this before. 

Robin never proposed to her but whenever people called them a couple, he did not refuse either. 

He was still in communication with Chandra until he got married to Sabrina and that was when every communication broke between them.

Robin walked past her and sat in the driver's seat. 

When he pressed the start button and switched on the headlights, Shandra was standing in front of the car so he called one of the security on the phone to move her away.

It did not take up to twenty seconds before security got there but when they tried to guide Shandra away from the front of the car, she shoved them away and walked to her car.

Robin stepped on the accelerator and drove away but Sabrina could not hold her peace.

"Shandra was your girlfriend in college."

Robin was quiet and Sabrina thought he would not answer before he said, 

"I never had an agreement with her or anything and our friendship was in the past. You are my future, Dear one," his voice softened at the latter end.

After what Zayla did to him, Robin did not want any woman close to him anymore.

"You make it sound as if we are still married. Did you forget…" Sabrina was going to mention that they were divorced but Robin did not want to hear that word and cut in,

"I haven't forgotten but I don't think you've forgotten the promises I made to you tonight. Even if you don't believe them, I will still honor them," he said solemnly, Sabrina's heart was moved but she was still uneasy, knowing the kind of person he was.

"How long will you be able to stay away from women?" she asked seriously, not caring that he was not looking at her since he was driving.

Robin stole a glance at her, wishing that she could see through his heart. 

It would have saved him a lot of stress because he was one person who had never done sweet talking before.

"For as long as it takes," he said seriously.
