Chapter 166 - I recorded your words, dear one.
Sabrina was not going to think about it or even consider that option. 0
There were no sweet moments in her marriage to Robin. Even when he had sex with her, it was as if it was a punishment or rather, just for the fact that he wanted a child.
It was only during their last sex before she left that villa that Sabrina saw the passion in the way he did it.
Robin gave her nothing to hold on to or entice her to continue with the marriage.
"Never."
The hope in Robin's eyes died. From the way Sabrina accommodated him from time to time and only complained about Zayla, he thought that removing Zayla from the way would help to heal the wound in her heart but there was nothing like that anymore.
Sabrina was not ready to consider marriage with him but then again, he felt that he hadn't done enough to win her trust and love back.
He also felt it was too early to beg her to return to him, for which reason she refused. Ah, what was he thinking?
He was smart in business but so dumb in love. At the thought, he rephrase the question,
"What about a date? If I let her go, will you go on a date with me?"
Sabrina began to think about his question now. There was nothing wrong with a date since there was no commitment but Robin was not someone she wanted to go on a date with.
However, she would love to see how Zayla would indeed survive without Robin. Sabrina was almost certain that he would never be able to let Zayla go since she was carrying his child for which reason she adhered to the challenge.
"Robin, if you let her go, I will go on two special dates with you," she said seriously, not knowing that Robin had tricked her since Zayla was already close to her grave.
Robin played back her words on his phone.
"I recorded your words, dear one. Please don't go back when the time comes," Robin smiled and said, glad that his trick worked perfectly, then he asked, "I hope you know your birthday is a month ahead?"
Sabrina was shocked. Robin never took notice of such things which he always called trivial. He never even remembered his birthday and never had a birthday party for as long as Sabrina knew him.
"You, remember my birthday?"
Robin smiled and said, "I intend to have a party for you and as my children's mother, you have no right to refuse."
Sabrina was annoyed with his use of children when she was going to have just one child and was quite amused by his resolve to have a party for her, taunting,
"Where will you keep Zayla when you throw this party for your ex-wife?"
Robin smiled calmly and responded, "Don't worry. At your birthday party, I will tell you the truth about my relationship with Zayla."
Sabrina frowned instantly. She had finished what she was doing but had not told him because of this conversation.
"I see you just want to embarrass me on my birthday."
Robin shook his head, not surprised that she thought that way. "I will never do that to you, dear one, please don't forget that you made me a promise."
Sabrina yawned a little and responded, "You know that I don't go back on my words."
Robin was just staring at her with such esteem, wishing that he could hold her in his arms. "Good. Then I will send the outfit for our date."
"Robin?"
Sabrina was getting uncomfortable with whatever Robin was planning to do but Robin was rather amused by her sentiment, saying,
"Come on, dear one, can't you see when a man has changed?"
Sabina shook her head. The only reason he might change was because of the child he was expecting from her but after that, she doubted that Robin genuinely cared for her.
"I think I'm ready now. We should go."
Robin did not want to separate from her. He enjoyed their time together and wanted it to last for which reason he said,
"I will take your father's offer to have dinner at your house."
"That's between you and him," Sabrina responded in annoyance. She hated the idea but had to accept it because her father had already approved it.
Surprisingly, Robin did not disturb her with any talk in the car and they rode in queitness. Reaching the villa and without the presence of Devin, everything was serene.
Matilda had moved back to the penthouse so it was just Lizzy and Cobby at the dining table with no Devin, which made the atmosphere lively.
Cobby was already welcoming of Robin and due to Lizzy's relationship with Daniel, she was equally warm. Robin was comfortable since Zayla was partly out of his life and his feelings were also clear.
"Robin, how are you now?" Cobby asked with interest since he kept looking at Sabrina as if he was seeing her for the first time.
"Very well Dad," Robin responded, not eating much and just watching Sabrina and taking secret pictures of her.
"I heard that you fainted?" Cobby asked with care and not to embarrass him but Robin could still not help being embarrassed about it.
"It was nothing, as you can see," he lowered his gaze when Sabrina lifted her head. He couldn't let her know that he has been watching her.
"I hope so. You know that you are always welcome here and I must say that your chef is quite good,"
Cobby wiped his mouth and sipped a glass of water. His actions were just as elegant as that of Robin.
"Thank you, Dad, I don't mind having dinner here every day," Robin quickly took the offer as an opportunity to stay longer with Sabrina.
"No one would stop you," Cobby gave his confirmation and Robin smiled.
Throughout their meals and conversation, he never took his eyes off Sabrina and when it was time to leave, he felt reluctant to do so but left in the end.
By the time Robin reached the car park of his office, Ken dropped from a cab since taxis were not allowed and matched him.
"Robin Jewel, you have become too proud in your shoes."
