Chapter 171 – It only means the person is running from something
"Robin, I got Mara's hacker."
Robin was both shocked and excited at the hearing of the news, as he glanced at Sabrina who was already preparing to leave.
She felt that he was talking to Zayla and was already annoyed.
No matter how Sabrina tried to hide it, it was always visible the way anything about Zayla got her upset.
"How far is it?" Robin asked seriously. The moment he was able to get this hacker on his side, Mara was doomed for good.
"About four hours' drive," Daniel responded and Robin sighed. His night was already taken away but he would still find a way to get all the sleep he needed.
"Please meet me at the office."
"I'm already there," Daniel said to his amazement.
Robin glanced at Sabrina again but this time, she was already on her feet, looking grossly irritated.
"Then I will see you in twenty minutes," Robin said and ended the call.
Then he stood up and blocked Sabrina's path whiles he asked her,
"Should I take you to the office or the house?"
Sabrina could not hide it. Especially when Robin had said that Zayla meant nothing to him. She saw how excited he looked after receiving the call and tried to walk past him.
"Don't worry about me. I can get a cab."
Robin blocked her silhouette with his well-built frame.
"I brought you here and I'm taking you back."
Sabrina was annoyed by his behavior and yelled at him,
"Aren't you going to your fiancé?"
She didn't know how to ask him the person he was speaking with on the phone and put it that way.
Robin smiled and gave his phone to her, surprised that she was jealous.
He was also asking himself if it was a good thing that Sabrina felt that way or perhaps, it was not what he was thinking.
"The password is our wedding anniversary date. You should tell me if it's indeed Zayla."
Sabrina began to regret asking the question and decided to save herself the embarrassment, thereby holding his hand and pressing the phone back into it. Why would he use their wedding anniversary date as his passcode anyway?
"I don't want to touch your phone."
Robin did not want her to carry a wrong impression of him when he was working so hard to make things right. Therefore, he unlocked the phone and showed it to her.
"If you don't believe the name, you can check the number, and the time, in case you think I deleted the original call."
Sabrina glanced at the screen of the phone and when she saw it was Daniel, she pretended she had not seen and said,
"I don't care who you talk to," she said and instantly headed to the door, feeling embarrassed, as Robin chuckled with a slight amusement before following her.
"You can take me home. It's just an hour to closing time," Sabrina said after Robin closed the door to the passenger side and went around to sit in the driver's seat.
"As you wish, dear one," Robin smiled and spoke.
Even though he wished to meet the hacker very fast, he did not rush through his drive to Sabrina's mansion.
As soon as parked, he said to her, "Please don't forget that we have a review at the hospital tomorrow."
Sabrina had not forgotten and responded, "We can go before you drop me at the office."
"That is fine with me," Robin said, happy with the arrangement.
Afterward, he sped to his office where Daniel was waiting for him.
"Can we go now?" Robin asked hastily but Daniel was relaxed over a glass of wine in Robin's office.
"Sure, but are we going alone?" He asked without attempting to stand up since he was enjoying Robin's expensive wine.
Robin did a rough calculation of the distance in his mind. He didn't like drivers because he loved his privacy but,
"I can't drive for four hours in and out. I will have to rest on the way to pick up Sabrina in the morning so I will get a driver."
Since the situation demanded it due to all his pending work the next day, he did not have a choice.
"Okay and what if he has people around him? I mean, he knows that you are looking for him," Daniel thought aloud but Robin felt he was overthinking and explained his reason for going after the hacker.
"We are just going to talk, not to arrest him. I don't want to be his enemy."
"You want to have him on our side?" Daniel asked, not knowing if he should be happy with the arrangement or express dissatisfaction.
"Something like that," Robin confirmed.
He did not have any more appointments so he said to Aria before leaving, "Shift my appointments tomorrow to the afternoon. I will be arriving late to the office."
He had in mind to buy a few clothes tomorrow since he did not have the intention of going to the penthouse anytime soon.
Aria nodded her head and jotted it down before Robin left with Daniel. The driver was already ready and brought a land rover since Robin's other cars could only take two people.
"Follow the map," Daniel said to the driver, who nodded his head and began the journey.
Robin slept for most of the journey, waking up about an hour before the time and feeling hungry.
"Is there any food joint around?"
He was sure to not get a good restaurant around but due to the hunger he felt, he was ready to make do with a food joint.
Daniel chuckled. Even he had slept off along the way, just for a little over an hour.
"Robin, we are only surrounded by bushes," he leveraged before Robin began to take notice of his surroundings.
"Where are we?" He frowned and asked.
Daniel smiled and said, "I don't know. We are just following the map."
The closer they got to the venue, the more Robin realized that something was off.
"Why would he live in a place far from town?"
"Please ask him when you see him," Daniel shrugged.
His job was to bring Robin here but as for that question, he did not have an answer.
Robin yawned a little and began to check his environment again. It was all dark with only the light of their car showing the way.
After what seemed like hours when it was just thirty minutes or so, Daniel said, "I think we are almost there."1
Robin was suddenly jolted to reality and checked his surroundings again.
"Why should such a house be in a place like this?"
"It only means the person is running from something," Daniel ended for him.
