Chapter 178 – Yolanda Thomas is Mara Sula

"Zayla, are you sure about what you are saying?"1

Kennedy could not believe his ears. If this was a joke, he was not in the mood for it. Zayla knew he'd be surprised and said to him,

"I already sent you a picture on WhatsApp."

The line went silent for a while and Zayla knew he was checking his phone to see if it was true.

"It's true and that is the original bottle but how did you get it?"

Kennedy was so amazed, he wanted to pull the bottle out of his phone. Zayla never heard such a level of joy in her father's voice before and explained,

"Robin gave it to me because he thinks I'm the one who saved his life. His father left a letter saying that it should be given to the woman who saved his life."

"Can you send me a snapshot of the letter too?" Kennedy asked. 

He wanted to be sure it was indeed in the handwriting of his old friend, Ronald. 

Zayla lowered her phone, took a shot, and sent it to him. Excitement brewed in his heart.

"So, Ronald kept the diamonds for Sabrina. Zayla, we have to leave as soon as we sell it. If Robin finds out that you are not the one who saved his life, he will kill you."

Kennedy was no longer ready to compromise his daughter's life. He had to let her know that they were treading on dangerous grounds. The diamonds were enough for them.

If Zayla had gotten the diamonds without Robin knowing that they existed, then it would be fine but since he gave them to her for the wrong reason, Kennedy felt that things would turn bloody if Sabrina got fed up and told Robin that she saved his life but Zayla was bent on clearing their reputation.

"Dad, please pay up the investors first. The news surrounding our family is not great."

She felt ashamed to be called a Chance because of her father being blacklisted on the business front due to the debts he owed. 

Kennedy did not agree but since he did not have the diamonds in his hands, he said to her,

"Okay but how can I get the diamonds from you?"

As soon as he sells the diamonds, he would lure her into a private jet and leave the soil of New York City before Robin finds out the truth.

"I will bring it in the morning. I only wanted you to know so you can relax," Zayla smiled, glad that things fell into place for her once again. 

She no longer needed the villa. Sabrina could have it. 

"Okay, make it early in the morning," Kennedy said seriously. The wait was a killer, heightening his fears.

The next day early in the morning, Zayla left the penthouse with the diamonds and a letter to her father's apartment.

Robin had already left instructions, permitting her to only go and see her father but nothing else.

At Robin's office, he just received pictures of Sabrina which he ordered to be printed and framed in portraits delivered to him.

While fixing them nicely in the small cozy bedroom walls in his office, he began thinking about the next phase of his revenge plans. 

He missed Sabrina with every picture he looked at. Some were taken by the paparazzi and others by people he had paid to take the pictures secretly of them together. 

Looking at them gave him hope and longing, to have her back in his arms again very soon.

He called Daniel before leaving the office. "Dan, please check with the people you planted around Kennedy. I want to know who bailed him from police custody."

"He is out?" Daniel asked with shock since Robin did not allow Zayla to go and offer her support. He was more convinced that Kennedy had strong backing.

"Yes, that is what Zayla said. I gave her the fake diamonds and I know she'll be giving it to her father today. I'm waiting for her call."

Robin wanted to know if Kennedy would still suspect that the real diamonds still existed or accept that they were fake and forget about them.

That information could only be gotten from Zayla.

"Okay, let me check the information about the person who bailed Kennedy and call you back."

Robin was already on his way to Sabrina's mansion when Daniel called back. 

"Robin, the person goes by the name Yolanda Thomas but when I asked for a picture, guess who it was?"

"Mara?" Robin asked from his side of the line whilst driving.

Daniel shook his head from his side and exclaimed, 

"Why are you so smart?"

"Because I suspected it. Bailing him the last time cost a lot of money so why would Mara spend so much on him?"

Robin asked, trying to understand the relationship between Mara and Kennedy. He also hoped that information about the diamonds did not reach Mara but then again, Kennedy was too selfish to tell somebody other than his daughter.

"Also, Robin, I was thinking of how she could still get his debtors away from him," Daniel pointed out and it got Robin wondering because bailing Kennedy out was one thing while sending his debtors away was another

"It only means one thing," Robin said with certainty, adding,

"Kennedy has been helping Mara in all her mischief. Have you got any information on her new name?"

"I tried to but nothing pops up under it," Daniel responded, Robin thought through the situation, with his hands on the steering wheel. 

His phone speaker was connected to the dashboard so he was not distracted.

"So, Mara comes out in broad daylight. Let's be on the lookout for her," Robin finally instructed. 

If they could not track her movements, they could be on the physical lookout for her but Daniel had more to say, 

"It won't be easy because she disguises herself all the time. Only her eyes remain the same and I wonder why she doesn't disguise them too."
