Chapter 186 – So, what are your plans for the baby?
"Sorry Sabrina, you look beautiful but I meant your sister," Daniel cleared the awkwardness in the air but when he saw Sabrina smiling, he quickly added, "But I think Robin was referring to you.
He recalled Robin's plea to put in a word for him for which reason he did but seeing Sabrina's smile fade, he felt sorry for Robin.
Daniel already discerned that it might just be impossible for Robin to win back his ex-wife.
"See you, Brina," Lizzy waved at Sabrina and sat in Daniel's car whilst Sabrina made herself comfortable in Robin's car, wondering if going with Robin to see his grandma was a good idea but upon second thought, she felt that she should not worry since grandma already promised to not try to reunite her with Robin.
On the way, Robin asked, "Where do you usually purchase her vitamins?"
He wanted to purchase them but it was also his way of striking a meaningful conversation since he did not want to offend her again.
Sabrina rolled her eyes at his sudden unwanted interest in his grandmother's health.
All he cared about before was getting the trophy for having many women but suddenly, he cared about his only surviving family.
Sabrina wondered exactly why she fell in love with Robin. Maybe his looks or the fact that he was smart in academia.
For whatever reason it was, she did not think it was worth it anymore.
"I already got them."
Robin was disappointed to not have been the one to get the vitamins for his grandmother.
Aside from her vitamins, the old woman had everything else at her beck and call, for which reason he didn't know what else to buy.
"I want to get her some too."
"This can take her for three months and don't forget that they have expiry dates," Sabrina subtly reminded him, he had no choice but to agree.
"Alright."
The rest of the journey was in silence until they reached the gate which opened to them automatically since they were being expected at the old villa.
Grandma was sitting on the patio, drinking herbal tea when she saw Robin walk around to open the door for Sabrina.
He was happy to see both of them but not in the way others would think.
They looked like a perfect couple but she knew better than to wish for it.
She never wanted to see Sabrina hurting again and would never advise her to go back to her grandson.
The old woman stood up before Sabrina reached her, hugging the latter, and asking,
"How far have you gone?"
Sabrina needn't ask what she meant and responded with a guilty smile, "Just two months, Grandma."
She brought out the vitamins from her handbag, lest she forgot, and placed them on the table, around which the old woman sat before.
Cecilia was happy but there was still sadness in her eyes when she spoke.
"But you should have still told me about it."
The misery airing from the old woman's words when she spoke made Sabrina feel terrible, and she apologized,
"I'm very sorry."
Robin was surprised that his grandmother had not welcomed him nor said anything good or bad to him. His presence at the moment seemed to be unwanted.
"Grandma, I'm here too," he announced his presence since no one was giving him the necessary attention.
The old woman glanced at him and nodded her head,
"I know you are there but you are just not needed at the moment."
She ignored Robin's sore mood and said to Sabrina,
"Sabrina, I hope you are taking proper care of yourself?"
Cecilia guided Sabrina to the chair next to her whilst speaking, Sabrina was moved by her warmth, and it caused her to miss her mother.
This was the reason why she always found herself coming to see Cecilia most of the time. She reminded Sabrina so much of her mother.
"Yes Grandma, I am well taken care of," she smiled and said, feeling that the old woman was just worried-sick about her.
The smile on her face left no room for doubts but the old woman was still not convinced, greatly concerned about the baby in her womb.
"I wish you could come and live here with me. You live with your father and maids. They don't have any personal experience."
Sabrina did not refuse but neither did she accept the invitation.
Robin was sitting right in front of them but it was as if he did not exist and since he could not join the conversation, all he could do was listen.
"I would have loved to but the distance is too much from my office," Sabrina said and the old woman frowned a little.
"I forgot that you work. So hard working. So, what are your plans for the future of the unborn child?"
Robin was expecting them to involve him in this line of conversation since he was the child's father but nothing of this sort seemed to be working.
It was as if he was banned from contributing.
"Since Robin wants to take responsibility, we would just come to a compromise," Sabrina said but the old woman misunderstood her words and asked her,
"Will you live together?"
"Never." Sabrina refused instantly but the way she said it, made Robin's face drain of color. It was as if he was some virus she was running away from.
"We might have days when either of us would have the child or the child would be with me and he could come to visit at any time," Sabrina revealed her plans.
Robin did not agree but his powers were limited at this time and he was not supposed to utter a word.
He was building that villa because of Zayla, thinking she was carrying his child but now, she was nonexistent to Robin.
Whereas grandma agreed with the arrangement.
"That isn't a bad idea. Let me get you tea."
Sabrina did not refuse her kind gesture since the woman would still have insisted on it anyway.
There was no way she would leave this villa without tea.
"Thank you, Grandma."
The two women spoke as if Robin did not exist, till it was past lunchtime.
Robin moved away to make a few calls but his presence was not missed.
He had called the building company to put a hold on the villa under construction until he decided on what to do with it.
When he returned, they had late lunch together, in the course of which Grandma asked Robin,2
"So, what are your plans for the baby?"
