Chapter 190 - Sabrina would never do that

Robin was upset in a meeting in one of his conference rooms.

One of his CEOs had overlooked some important details for a partnership agreement that could cost him millions for which the deadline was also due.

"Fix it, before Monday, Bernard," Robin warned sternly before concluding the meeting.

"Yes, Mr. President. I will have it signed and send a copy to your email," the remorsed CEO responded politely.

As he stormed out of the conference room with Aria following from a distance because of his anger, he was surprised to see Daniel in his office when he got there.

After long meetings like this, he knew there would be pending emails waiting for him to attend to, for which reason he was not ready to see Daniel at this moment, thereby asking,

"Dan, I am very busy today. Is it urgent?"

Daniel was amazed that Robin was not rather asking for his help.

When he saw the news, he was expecting Robin's call and since he was leaving a client's office which was close by, he decided to stop by, only to realize that Robin was not seated.

Even if the office was locked, he had the passcode to open it and did so.

"I thought you would need my help."

Robin's brows furrowed in confusion and his eyes were gloomy because of the just-ended meeting.

"Wait, am I missing something?"

Robin's surprised countenance amazed Daniel since he expected Robin to have first-hand information, due to his investment of all his subsidiary companies into JC Minerals and clothing.

"Where is your phone? Hasn't any of your CEOs called?"

During brainstorming meetings, Robin never carried his phone along.

"We just finished a four-hour meeting."

He walked to his executive swivel chair and sat, glaring at the long trail of emails waiting for him to respond to.

He began to read some of them when Daniel sighed, asking,

"So, you haven't heard that Sabrina signed off seventy percent of JC Minerals and Clothing shares to Dane Industries?"

Robin's actions paused and his hand on the keyboard froze. He shook his head.

"Sabrina would never do that."

Daniel felt sorry for him because of the level of trust he discovered that Robin had for Sabrina.

It was not for him to try to sound judgemental so he switched on the LED screen in Robin's office and gave his phone to him as well.

"But it's on the news."

Robin frowned in confusion, convincing himself that something must be wrong somewhere.

If anything at all, Sabrina was still a deputy to her father, not having the right to sign something like that without her father's consent.

Robin did not bother to take Daniel's phone and neither was he going to believe the news blindly, knowing that journalists had ways of twisting the news to gain popularity.

"Where is my phone?"

Robin suddenly remembered to check his phone for any missed calls and when he could not find it on his desk, he checked his desk drawers and there it was.

"One hundred and eighty-five missed calls?"

Worry flung him as he began to scroll through the missed calls log.

Media houses, partners, Zayla, Devin…" he frowned, wondering why Devin would call him. Then he saw Cobby's call and grew worried, not scrolling further.

"Sabrina's father called."

Daniel already guessed the reason and explained,

"Martin addressed the media an hour ago that he was taking over JC minerals and clothing in three days."

Robin's expression darkened dangerously, and his anger grew.

"Over my dead body will he do that. He is the reason why I invested in the JCs."

Some of the CEOs who left the meeting began to call Robin, which meant that they had equally seen the news.

Robin rejected their calls, dialing Cobby's number.

"Did you hear me? Sabrina signed it…" Daniel was saying when Robin cut him off, instructing,

"Check the camera installed in her office. I will speak to her father first."

Cobby answered his phone on the first ring.

"Robin…"

"Dad, what's going on?" Robin asked calmly.

He wouldn't fidget about something like this when he knew how to put Martin in his place.

His only concern was the toll it would have on Sabrina since she was pregnant.

"Sabrina fainted in her office forty minutes ago and has been rushed to the hospital."

Robin was already on his feet, his heart almost falling out of his chest. His hand holding the phone even shook as worry flung him.

"Why didn't anyone tell me? Which hospital?"

Anger resonated through his voice, as it raised slightly but Cobby was calm, saying,

"Don't worry, she will be fine but we might lose everything in three days if we don't get help and that would disturb her even more."

It was painful for Robin, as the understanding settled that Sabrina fainted as well because of the news or something of that sort.

If she indeed signed it herself, then how would she faint from shock?

Robin was already thinking about all the possibilities and reasons why it so happened when Cobby's voice explained it.

"I don't know how Martin made her sign the documents but she claims she doesn't remember and no one saw Martin enter her office either."

Robin tried to calm down. Even if he went to see Sabrina now, it would do her no good since the problem was still at hand.

He had to find a way to dilute the effect, so her heart would be calm.

"Is her signature on it already?" Robin asked Cobby on the phone.

"Yes, but she was even surprised when she saw the document."

Cobby knew as well that something was wrong because Sabrina would not lie to him. 1

However, her signature and the document that appeared in her office were a mystery but Robin wanted to know the details of what she signed.

"What exactly did she sign?"

Cobby paused in deep thought before revealing, confirming Daniel's words,

"She signed off 70% shares."

Robin smiled bitterly. Sabrina trusted Martin so much, even better than Robin.

If only she had listened to him but he was not going to let Martin win.

"I knew that son of a bitch was up to something. I will take care of it but don't tell Sabrina about my involvement."
