Chapter 126 – He paid the waiter to pour the drink on her

Instantly, he pulled Matilda into his arms, giving her a long, passionate kiss, while everyone applauded, understanding that the party had turned into an engagement party.

Everyone held glasses of wine to toast the success of their relationship except Sabrina. Daniel arrived and began to walk toward Robin. At the same time, the waitress who was serving the drinks, reached Lizzy and slipped. Nobody saw it in time and the drinks wet Lizzy's clothes.

She gasped from the coldness, while her eyes dulled with embarrassment. Due to the loud music, most people had not noticed except the people close by. 

"I'm sorry," the waiter began to apologize.

Sabrina was shocked and before she moved to her sister's side Daniel got there and said roughly to the waitress, 

"You already caused the mess. Clean up this place."

"Lizzy, I think Matilda might have some clothes here," Sabrina said, knowing there was no way to get the stains out of the dress. A cream dress stained with so much red wine was a glaring disaster.

Devin did not seem to like the idea and looked like he was in a hurry for something, saying and asking together, "Before you go change, can I have my delivery?"

Lizzy was upset that all he cared about was the package for his girlfriend and not about what had happened to her. 

"You are so shameless. You won't let me change up first?"

Daniel seemed unmoved by her pitiful form, saying seriously, "Why should I? My girlfriend is waiting in the car. Now where did you keep it?"

Lizzy shook her head in disappointment. "You are impossible."

Robin was equally upset by Daniel's behavior wondering how he was going to win Lizzy's heart as he wanted if he kept acting like a jerk. 

Also, which girlfriend again was he talking about? Robin was about to ask when Daniel said to Lizzy, 

"Let's go." 

He quickly wrapped his arm around Lizzy's waist to prevent her from escaping and asked, "Where is it?"

Lizzy smiled bitterly. "In my brother's car but I have the remote."

"Then let's go." Daniel was already pulling her towards the entrance to the car park, his closeness giving her warmth from the cold emitted from the wetness of her beautiful dress.

However, she was saddened at his behavior, not seeing how his eyes were glued to her slim body outlined through the wet clothes clutching tightly on her. 

She brought the dress out of the car and Daniel marveled with twinkling eyes, "It looks amazing. You deserve a tip." 

He knew from the first dress she designed for Sabrina that she was remarkable but never thought she would give out her best when he mentioned it belonged to his girlfriend. 

"Wear it for me to see."

"What?" Lizzy was confused since she expected his girlfriend to wear it for her to see if there was a need for adjustment. She was certain that his girlfriend might be of the same size as her but there would still be a need for some adjustments.

Daniel was not surprised by the shocked look on her face, going on to explain,

"Well, I have to make sure that it looks good on a human, not on those dummies. Don't get me wrong. The dress might be pretty but might not look good when she puts it on, just like in magazines."

Lizzy understood his point that model figures were different and the way a dress looked on them might not be exactly how they'd look on the buyer. 

However, since the girlfriend was around, why stress herself?

"Since your girlfriend is here, let her wear it and I will make the necessary adjustments to give her the perfect look."

Daniel disagreed. "What if she hates it in the first instance because it doesn't fit properly? She is a diva and I can't afford anything going wrong. I want to see it myself and as your client, you are not supposed to refuse."

Lizzy smiled bitterly. To think that she even wanted to give him a chance. Nothing good could ever come out of a Playboy. 

"Fine, I will fit it in the ladies' room but please tell Matilda or Sabrina to get me a dress. Just anything."

Lizzy didn't care about looking good or anything. She just wanted to get out of the wet dress and feel warm and comfortable again.

"Of course," Daniel smiled mischievously, before escorting Lizzy to the ladies' room but waited at the entrance. He did not attempt to contact Matilda or Sabrina to get the dress for Lizzy. 

When she was done changing, she held her wet dress in her hand and asked, 

"Does it look good enough?"

Daniel took her wet dress and threw it in the bin. Lizzy's eyes widened when he said, "You don't think those stains would be out do you?" 

Lizzy pressed her lips together and did not say a word in response when he added,

"It looks better than I thought. You look stunning. Here," he brought out a necklace from his suit pocket. "I got this on my way back from France."

Lizzy was a specialist when it came to fashion and she knew how expensive that necklace was. She wondered why he was making her wear it. "That is expensive and…"

"Well let me see for myself," Daniel clipped the necklace around her slender neck. "God, you look gorgeous," he exclaimed. 

Lizzy smiled, grateful that he appreciated her work at least.

"Now that you've seen it, where are my clothes? I have to get back to the party."

Daniel smiled and pulled her by the waist, the same way he pulled her out of the party. "Which other way would I get you to accept a gift from me? I paid the waiter to pour the drink on you so let's go."

Lizzy felt her feet heavy at his confession with so many emotions playing in her heart. Daniel was impatient to flaunt her around and tightened his hand around her waist. 

"Do you want the party to be over before they see how fabulous you look?"
