Chapter 130 – Robin’s timely intervention

Zayla had been at the party for a while, watching them from afar. There was not so much to be angry about until Robin began to dance with Sabrina. 0

Zayla's sinister heart could not take it. How could a divorced couple still look so perfect together?

Also, she now firmly believed her father's observation that Robin was in love with Sabrina because not for once did he move away from her since they began to dance. 

He was holding her close like a treasure, afraid of losing her if he created even the slightest gap between them.

Zayla could not take it. She was on a mission but this was painful. After all the love she has given Robin, he still could not love her even when they lived together and was shamelessly chasing after his ex-wife.

She bit her lower lips so hard, it drew blood as she began to walk towards the couple who looked so perfect together.

"Robin! Is this why you refused to bring me along?" 

Robin's fury made her heart pound very hard, she felt it drop into her rib cage. Zayla expected him to drag her out to not cause a scene at the General's daughter's birthday party but how wrong she was.

Robin felt that if he dragged her out to address the matter, it would send the impression that he was doing something wrong. 

Secondly, Zayla disobeyed him and he didn't like that as well. Robin liked to be in control, except when he was with his ex-wife since he had no power over her.

Robin's voice was like the winter breeze, so chilly, it made Zayla uncomfortable because of Sabrina's presence. She did not want the bitch to win but that was exactly what it seemed once again. 

"I also made it clear to you that she has as much right to me as you do so you have no right causing a scene."

Sabrina was shocked that Robin had told Zayla that but her mood was already ruined and she went back to her table. 

As soon as her butt touched the luxury chair, a waitress brought her healthy food with fruit juice. 

Sabrina was a bit skeptical, wondering how Matilda got the food ready so fast and why she was not here herself. 

She knew that Matilda was not a maid but her best friend. However, Matilda always treated her as special and this was her territory, which Sabrina had no control over.

"Is this from Matilda?" She asked curiously, whiles looking at the mouth-watering food, she did not realize how the waitress panicked at the question before gathering herself and responding sweetly,

"Yes, Ma'am." If using Matilda's name would cause the Miss to eat, then that was exactly what it had to be.

Sabrina heard when Robin told Matilda to serve her food in her room. If there was a problem, couldn't Matilda have told her? Maybe she was just busy with her dad or something of that sort.

"Robin, it's not fair. You don't spend time with me," Zayla's shrill voice interrupted Sabrina's thoughts. She forced herself to not look that way, encouraging herself that whatever was happening between them was equally none of her business.

"Because you left your parent's house. Did I force you?" Robin asked and Zayla was nervous. She never thought he'd take it to heart and hoped he wouldn't begin to read meanings into it, the fact that she did not want him to touch her fake bump.

Robin instinctively looked around while he spoke, looking for Sabrina and hoping that he did not upset her as he promised her father but she was nowhere to be found. 

He looked to the table around which they sat before and saw her holding a drink when Matilda was not there.

With speed, he ran to her and grabbed hold of her right hand from behind before the drink entered her mouth. 

At the same time, he signaled Daniel over. His movement caused some of the drink to spill on Sabrina's dress, making her annoyed. "Robin, what are you doing?" 

Zayla began to feel hot where she stood but at the same time, she felt so cold, his feet froze and she could not move. It was as if Robin had gotten a hint of their plans or was he just suspicious? Why would he be?

"Sabrina, who gave you that food?" Robin frowned and asked, while looking angrily at the food in front of her. 

He specifically instructed Matilda to serve Sabrina's food in her room so that no other waiter would be opportune to touch her food. 

It was the reason why Robin felt uncomfortable with the food, though it was a healthy one.

Sabrina began looking for the waitress who was just about to disappear behind Robin when he caught her by the arm, making her tray fall. 

"Why did you give her this food?" Robin asked the waitress.

From the burning of his furious eyes, the waitress panicked. "We are serving everyone at the party," she tried to compose herself but could not help lowering her head to avoid that piercing gaze. 

Robin might be handsome but when he was angry, no one could behold his fury. Sabrina was smart enough to realize that something was off with what the waitress had told her when she asked about the food.

"But you said that Matilda asked you to give it to me. I asked you," Sabrina stated in annoyance, at the same time Robin let go of her arm and she dropped the drink on the table. 

She no longer cared about the spill in her dress from what she was perceiving to be happening.

"Who gave you that food? Have you eaten it?" Matilda rushed over angrily upon seeing the food in front of Sabrina. Sabrina was about to explain when Robin said,

"Matilda, she's hungry, please take her to your room."

Since Robin was there, Matilda knew that he would take care of everything and agreed,

"Okay."

Matilda left with Sabrina and Zayla gritted her teeth, just as she turned to leave when Robin called after her,

"Zayla, we have not finished talking and since you came for the party, you should stay."
