Chapter 134 – showing mercy for the sake of family
Martin would have no choice but to marry her. That was how Mara planned everything. After Mara's success story of having Martin's seed inside of her, Annabelle was rather afraid of the outcome of things if they did not work as Mara had planned. 1
"What if Sabrina does not die?" Annabelle asked after she returned. She could not believe that Robin would watch Sabrina die without finding an antidote for the poison.
Modern medicine could find a way to reduce the effect and buy time to get the antidote. Robin had the money to hire the best doctors.
"There is no way she would survive it. The waitress said that she ate the food and drank the juice," Mara said with satisfaction.
She sounded weak, tired, and sore but was very happy. Even with all the multiple releases, she did not want to clean up as Martin's scent was all over her.
"You always like plan Bs. What if?" Annabelle hinted at the worse but Mara was not thinking about what her nurse was saying critically. If Mara went down, Annabelle was sure to go down with her since she supplied all the drugs for Mara.
"I don't know. I don't intend to take any pills. I want to have the child of the man I love," Mara said with resolve before adding, "I would just find means to make him marry me. I have someone who can edit the sex video to put him into trouble if he refuses to marry me."
"But you are paralyzed," Anabelle reminded her. That could be used against her if Martin mentions that he was under the influence of drugs.
Anabelle was shaking, though their plans materialized. She had wished that it wouldn't, just like all their other plans from before.
"I will tell him that I got better and wanted to surprise him. Stop asking questions. I am pregnant for him and he has to forget Sabrina."
Mara was beginning to get upset at Anabelle's unending questions.

In one of the storerooms at the general's mansion, Robin threw the waitress violently on the floor and asked,
"Who sent you?"
He was not showing any form of mercy this time, since they were out of curious gazes. Robin already knew who was behind it but felt that he could get more information from the waitress concerning Mara's whereabouts, for which reason he was not taking it kindly with her.
Daniel was holding the plate of food and while Robin forced the waitress's mouth open, Daniel was about to feed her when she said,
"Please, she did not tell me her name but she was a young lady with dark hair. She's average looking and was with an elderly woman."
The waitress was crying with every word. They had not tied her anything but she was afraid, as she sat on the cold floor with the cold gazes from the two ruthless men on her.
Robin paused his movement, knowing that she was telling the truth because he already saw Mara in the video. They were still angry looking so the waitress felt that they did not believe her.
"Please, she will kill me if she finds out that Sabrina is still alive so you have to let me go, so I could escape with my family," the waitress begged through tears.
Robin went into a discussion with Daniel. "What should we do? She is telling the truth and Mara is indeed ruthless."
Daniel had run out of options and was about to tell Robin to use his conscience when they heard the ringing of a phone.
Robin turned to see the waitress remove a phone from her apron pocket and snatched it from her. Seeing it was a private number, he showed it to the waitress, asking,
"Who is it?"
"It must be her." The waitress said when she saw the private number. No one else called her with a number like that and she was sure that the woman would call her for an update since she did not give her number to the waitress.
"Put it on speaker and tell her that you did as told," Robin said seriously, the waiter was confused as he added, "Make sure that she doesn't suspect anything or you will eat the food."
The waitress did not want to eat the food so obeyed. As soon as Robin slid his finger over the answer button, he activated the speaker. The waitress took a deep breath and forced a smile before she said,
"Everything was successful ma'am."
"Are you sure?" the woman asked from the other side a bit skeptically, the waitress looked up at Robin, who gave her a warning sign, signaling that she dared not mess up.
She gulped and tried to sound normal, even smiling in the process since her life depended on it.
"Yes. She drank the juice and ate the food. She seemed to be very hungry." Adding the last part made her report convincing enough.
"Good one. I am transferring the rest of the money into your account." The waitress nodded but could not utter a word when Robin ended the call.
"I guess you have enough money to leave this city," Robin said and the waitress smiled with gratitude, nodding her head eagerly, she replied,
"Yes sir."
Robin thought things through again. The waitress failed and he made her pass the wrong information to Mara, so she would think that she won and lose her guard.
By the time she would realize that things did not go her way, Robin would have found that hacker and gotten closer to her.
As for the waitress, he was still confused as to what to do with her but since the girl mentioned that he had a family, he took pity on her, saying,
"Go!"
The waitress scrambled quickly to her feet and run out of the door. At one point, she thought that these men were heartless but they took pity on her and did not even abuse her.
After she left, Daniel asked Robin, "Why did you let her give the false information?"
