Chapter 138 – There are no diamonds in the villa

Ken could not protect Zayla at the moment but he figured he had to come up with a new plan.0

"She is not comfortable with your being around Sabrina so you have to talk to her here."

He wanted Robin to promise that there was nothing between him and his ex-wife but again Robin's response did not give him the satisfaction he wanted.

"No problem but she should not spend more than two days here. She has to return to the penthouse where I can take care of her," he ascertained, feeling that Ken was not doing a good job as a father since he was behaving just like his daughter.

"Let me get her," Ken said and went to Zayla's room. She was sitting on the bed, hearing everything that happened.

"Pretend you are feeling sleepy and go and see him. Make sure you deny everything, do you understand?"

Zayla agreed to the terms and came out of the bedroom, where she sat directly on the couch "Robin, what are you doing here?" She said dazedly like she was seeing him for the first time in her life. Robin's expression was rather cold,

"What were you doing at the party?"

"Ha," Zayla faked a yawn before saying sarcastically, "I came to surprise you but you were having a romantic moment with your ex-wife."

Robin did not care about the last part of the conversation, asking, "Zayla, did you give the waiter something to put in Sabrina's food?"

Robin did not want her to know that he already had information. All he needed was her body's reaction to the question he was going to ask.

Also, if Zayla indeed knew about Mara and was a tool for the latter, then Robin would be confirming the message he sent to Mara through the waitress that Sabrina indeed ate the poisoned food.

In all, if Zayla was involved and also targeting Sabrina's life, then Robin was going to make her life a living hell after she gave birth to his child.

"Robin, why should I? I only came to see you. Why? Did anything happen to Sabrina? Did someone try to poison her?" Zayla asked seriously, pretending to care for Sabrina but Robin noticed something in asking her,

"I didn't mention poison so how could you know?"

Zayla faked another yawn. "How will I know what I'm hearing when I'm feeling sleepy, I thought you mentioned poison. Is she alright? I don't like her close to you but I'm not a killer, Robin. Is she alright?" Zayla asked again, wanting to know how things turned out.

Robin was not getting what he was looking for but figured he had to maintain his stand.

"I don't know but she is home and I want you at the penthouse tomorrow."

"Tomorrow is Sunday," Zayla complained.

"It's past midnight so I mean Monday," Robin ascertained, thinking of keeping a closer watch over Zayla.

At first, she lied about not knowing Sabrina, which was still pending. And then, she appeared at the party at the same time the waitress gave Sabrina the food.

Thinking she would stay at the party, she left before he could say jack. Using Sabrina as an excuse did not make sense to Robin since he already informed her that Sabrina would be there. For the man he was, he would not conclude his suspicions until he got valid proof.

"Okay. I will see you but you have to perform your manly responsibilities. I can't live like a stick in your house. It would be better if I live with my father," Zayla said, interrupting his thought.

Imagining having anything sensual with Zayla put Robin on the edge. He just did not feel attracted to her.

"We shall talk about that when you get back," Robin said and left. Her father went to lock the door and said to Zayla,

"He said that Sabrina was pregnant for him."

"That is what he told me too," Zayla responded, confirming that she already knew about it. Her father's sudden smile got suspicious and before she asked, he said,

"Then that is good news."

"How?" Zayla scowled, not agreeing with her father this time around. He explained it to her,

"Let Sabrina give birth and we shall steal the newborn baby for you."

Zayla smiled at the idea. She no longer had to force herself on Robin but would be a good girl. Stealing Sabrina's baby would be perfect because Robin would have no reason to be around her again and Zayla would have all his attention.

Also, she could run away with the child to force Robin to give her the villa. This was the master plan of all but, there was a problem.

"But Sabrina ate poison already."

Her father frowned knowingly, "Too bad but just in case she makes it and the baby survives too, don't try anything against her until she gives birth, okay?"

Zayla almost agreed before detecting another flaw in their plan. "Okay, but my pregnancy is a month ahead of hers so how do we do that?"

Her father smiled, saying, "There are ways around these things. Let the time come and we will do what needs to be done. With that assurance, Zayla was very happy and thought about revealing a piece of information that would make her father happy as well,

"Dad, I got someone to break into Sabrina's mansion to steal the diamonds. He will be at it tonight. I believe he is even there as we speak."

The brightness in her father's eyes was an assurance to her that she had done the right thing. "I should have thought about it that way then you won't need Robin in your life again."

Zayla was saddened at the thought and reminded him, "Dad, I love him." It was the reason she kept doing everything her father told her to do. She was not ready to lose Robin in the end.

"Forget love. Let me know what happens," her father said sternly, Zayla cowardly in fear.

The next day, Zayla waited eagerly for news from the armed robber she contracted. The man had informed her three hours ago that he sneaked into the mansion when the maids were cleaning.

Zayla used the money Mara gave her father as part payment and they promised him 10% of the diamonds as his final payment.

After the long wait, her phone began to ring and she quickly answered it. "How did it go?" Zayla asked eagerly.

"Ma'am, you have to pay for misleading me," the man said on the phone, Zayla's excitement died instantly.

"What are you talking about?"

"There are no diamonds in the villa. I got beaten by the maids and only escaped miraculously before the police arrived. I'm in the hospital now and if you don't pay up? I will confess everything to the police and the world."
