[Bonus chapter]Chapter 143 – Then take the villa from her. She took it because of the diamonds
Zayla would have preferred the home therapy because sleeping before Robin returned from work had worked a lot of magic and she intended to keep it that way. But she was confused as to how Robin knew that she was not in the penthouse.
"Wait, how did he know about our whereabouts?" She asked the driver and he spoke honestly,
"He called me and said that you were not answering his calls."
Zayla realized that the driver had told Robin about where they went and began to think about the excuse to give him. She could not honor Robin's command to go to his office. Not today.
"Okay but can we stop by the penthouse, I left my vitamins," she said, trying to change direction without making it obvious but the driver was afraid because of the warning he received from his boss.
"Then please call Mr. Jewel and he would call me to instruct me on what to do," he said politely. Zayla's heart sank as she knew there was no way around it, beginning to think about the excuses to make up to convince him.
"It's okay. Let's go to his office," she took a deep breath and spoke.
At the office, she should have been happy when Aria told her that Mr. Jewel was waiting for her. It was what he always wanted, the fact that Robin would be waiting to be graced by her presence one day but that day was not today.
As soon as she entered, she saw Robin's sunken mood and pretended as if nothing had happened, going around to hug him tightly from the back,
Whereas she was shocked by the coldness emitted from him since he was always warm towards her.
"Zayla, why did you not answer my calls?"
"I'm sorry, darling. I was buying a few things for Dad. I didn't hear the phone ringing." Her hands were still wrapped around him while she spoke.
Robin pushed her away but not too hard to make her stagger or fall. He was wise in dealing with a pregnant woman. Zayla put on a pitiful look but it did nothing to appease him of his anger of being disrespected.
"Didn't I tell you to inform me before leaving the penthouse?"
This wasn't the first question Zayla expected and had no answer prepared for it. She had forgotten it was where her offense began. She pouted and said,
"He said it wasn't going to take long." That way, it sounded like her father was the one who requested her presence.
Robin's expression was blank so Zayla could not guess if he was convinced or not. The next question followed the first,
"So, what did you do with half a million?"
"I needed a lot of things. Changing my wardrobe because I've grown bigger, bought baby stuff and I bought some things for dad because it's his birthday."
When she mentioned the baby, Robin's anger reduced but then again, who spends that amount of money on something like that?
"With half a million?" Robin asked seriously. Zayla knew that it did not make sense but could not find a way to make it convincing, so she decided to shift his attention by making him insensitive.
"Robin, half a million has no weight. You should increase my wages. I deserve a million every month."
Robin looked at her with shock. He could indeed afford that but was she worth it? What would she use that amount of money for? Robin was beginning to worry that Zayla was not who she portrayed herself to be.
"A million. Tell me what work you do, Zayla?"
There were maids, a chef, a driver, and everything Zayla needed. When Sabrina was his wife, she would take care of everything in the house including his meals and all but did not ask for a cent yet, Zayla wanted a million dollars every month for doing nothing.
Zayla did not feel guilty, recalling how Robin would waste so much money in buying something like a necklace for Sabrina so what was wrong with spending his money too?
"I don't have to work. Carrying a child is enough work. Robin, I want to sleep," she yawned, her voice thinning out but Robin was suspicious that she was up to something, for which reason he could not let her off like that.
"Zayla, I want to know what you did with my money now," he demanded and Zayla felt bitter. That money was nothing for Robin but he made it look as if it was his whole life savings.
"Robin, why are you treating me like this? Is this what you did to Sabrina when she was your wife?" Having her compare herself to Sabrina again, Robin was upset, he moved away from his desk and glared at her,
"Sabrina never spent up to a thousand dollars in a day. She is a very wise woman. If you keep spending like this, what will happen to the future of our child?" He asked seriously.
He had a lot of money but he was saving it up for his children's future. Since he was going to have two, he would have to divide his wealth equally among them.
"Robin, you just called me a foolish woman."
Zayla was embittered by how his eyes and voice softened together when he spoke about Sabrina, which she could not accept. More so, he called her wise so what about Zayla? What was she?
"I didn't. You asked about Sabrina and I told you," Robin corrected her. Zayla's eyes were already turning pink, as tears threatened to fall.
"You make her look like the Angel when I was the one who saved your life," she began the blame game again but this time, Robin was not remorseful about his words because of the huge money she withdrew. It was like payment for the kindness she showed him.0
"Now don't go there. I was talking about your expenditure. Money doesn't fall from trees."
"But Sabrina is the Angel, right? Do you think she is a good woman? Why was she eager to divorce you and take the villa?" Zayla asked, Robin was confused, asking seriously,
"What are you talking about?"
"Sabrina is greedy but you don't see it," Zayla stated upon observing his interest in the allegation. This was her only chance to make him hate Sabrina.
"Don't call her that. She is a decent woman," Robin roared, a tear dropped from Zayla's eyes and she said something she was going to regret for the rest of her life.
"Then take the villa from her. She took it because of the diamonds. Very soon, she will become richer than you."
