Chapter 144 – the new owner of the villa
Zayla indeed got Robin's full attention this time. She picked it very well, it could not be reduced because this was a serious accusation. Robin had no idea what she was talking about and if it was indeed true, then how could he trust Sabrina?1
"Zayla, what diamonds are you talking about?" Robin asked, this time in a soft tone. As a businessman, diamonds meant a lot so indeed, he was interested in this diamond of a thing. Zayla realized too late how she lacked control of her emotions and spilled the beans.
Her heart thumped, as she expected Robin to forget the words she spoke. If Robin found the diamonds, then her father could never have it.
What is wrong with Zayla. Why did she have to speak before thinking? "I did not mention anything like that," she quickly refused but Robin was not stupid. He saw the seriousness with which she said it and knew that it was true.
"But I heard it from you," he said calmly, not wanting to scare her from spilling the truth once again. Zayla faked a yawn, as she tried to escape.
Afterall, if Robin did not know the details, he would assume she was just being a fool and forget all about it.
"I think it's because I'm tired. I need to rest."
The speed at which she ran to the door was so much, Robin feared that she might fall and injure herself and the baby.
Luckily, she made it out safely but Robin's mind had received information he could not let go just like that. Not when it involved diamonds.
As soon as she left his office, Robin made a call to his bankers. He trusted Zayla blindly and after all his hard work, he would not allow her to destroy it because she saved his life and was pregnant for him.
She asked for a villa and he was already building one for her. Zayla was not deserving of the financial trust he gave her, for which reason he had to take it away.
"Please do not honor any cash out or purchase with any of my cards presented by Zayla without my approval. I will send an email to confirm this," Robin said to his bank manager.
He saw their calls and emails asking him to confirm the transactions but it was after his meeting because he did not take his phone along with him to the meeting.
However, he could not hold them responsible since he had previously authorized them that should he not be reached, Zayla should be taken care of.
"Yes Mr. Robin," the bank manager responded curtly. Robin was their biggest client so his words were more powerful than that of their CEO himself.
If Robin withdrew all his money, the bank was sure to shake or even collapse.
After hanging up, Robin instantly put everything aside and sent the email to confirm his words. When he was done, he tried to focus on what he was doing before Zayla came in but it was fruitless. He could not get over this diamond saga of a thing.
The only way to clear his mind was to pay a visit to the villa. After leaving Aria with a lot of instructions, he left the office, so he could return early to see and drop Sabrina at home.
Upon his arrival at the villa which was once his home, he was surprised to be stopped by security.
"Do you not know me?" Robin was annoyed and asked the head of security, who was still on his payroll.
Whoever Sabrina had not let go of, was still on his payroll so he could not understand the level of disrespect he was receiving.
The head of security was afraid but then again, he had previously received words from Mr. Jewel himself that the Villa belonged to his ex-wife, who happened to be the one who gave them the rules to follow.
"We do, but there is a new owner and we have not been informed of your coming," the head of security said politely, Robin frowned deeply.
For a moment, he doubted Sabrina's honesty. She made him understand that she did not want the money so why sell the villa when he was ready to give her more than it's worth?
Robin did not care about the villa before but those diamonds which must have gotten into the hands of the new owners were his headache.
Whatever was in the villa must belong to the Jewels and if Sabrina sold the villa, then Robin was sure that she was equally clueless of there being anything like that in there.
"You mean the villa has been sold?" He asked again, hoping it was a slip of tongue like Zayla was trying to eat back her words after revealing it.
"Yes." The head of security nodded his head and Robin's heart sank.
He never paid attention to the villa, not even when the two women kept fighting for it. He never tried to find out the reason why they were doing so but thought it right to give it to Sabrina since she lived there throughout their marital life and had great memories with Robin's father.
"To who?" Robin asked seriously.
He was determined to speak to the new owner to buy back the villa. That is if the person did not know that it contained anything like a diamond but what if the person discovered and had sold it?
Robin was confused but still wanted to know. How could Sabrina do this? And how could he blame her?
The head of security had no idea what was going on in his former boss's mind.
However, if he was asking for the contact of the new owner, the head of security saw nothing wrong in giving it to him.
Pulling out a drawer, he brought out a call card, handing it over to Robin while saying, "She gave us her card and here it is. You can take a snapshot."
When Robin saw the name on the card, his hands shook on the steering.
