[Bonus chapter]Chapter 146 – What is in the villa and why did Sabrina want it so much?”
At the end of the line, Sabrina was enjoying her lunch when the call came through. She was worried that something had happened to Cecilia and quickly pushed the food aside to answer the call. 1
The weight of the question broke her defenses, and she felt guilty. She always wanted to tell the old woman, knowing that it would make her very happy but constantly sent the thought to the back of her mind every time it came.
"I'm sorry, Grandma, I was just afraid you would tell me to go back to Robin," Sabrina said honestly, the food suddenly losing its taste in her mouth.
Cecilia frowned and shook her head. It would be very sinister of her if she ever did that.
"I would never advise you to go back to my grandson after the way he treated you." Robin's hand and head froze on his grandmother's lap and he rose to sit on the chair beside her.
He knew that he messed up and though he could not hear what Sabrina was saying, he could feel her getting emotional.
"I'm so sorry," Sabrina apologized again, feeling guilty that the old woman found out when it was not from her but she wondered who must have told her since Robin never visited her for a very long time.
"It's okay. I will soon see my grandchild and that is all that matters," the old woman consoled her.
Sabrina's reason was understandable, for which reason the old woman could not dwell on the matter anymore.
"I will pay you a visit next week," Sabrina said from her side of the line. The old woman smiled since she always enjoyed Sabrina's company. She loved her like her granddaughter.
"I look forward to it," she responded when Sabrina asked since the old woman had forgiven her.
"Grandma, how did you know? About my pregnancy, I mean."
Cecilia turned her head and looking at Robin's miserable face, she said, "You should come and visit me first, and we shall talk about it."
Since Sabrina already had it in her plans to visit her soon, she quickly agreed, "Alright, talk to you later."
The old woman's attention shifted to Robin since he seemed calmer now. She knew that Robin would not just wake up to come and visit. Something must have happened to drag the stubborn, proud, and arrogant grandson to come and see her in such a humble form.
"Robin, why are you here?"
Robin did not know how to meander with words so he spoke honestly, "Grandma, please tell me the truth. Are there diamonds in the villa?"
His question surprised the old woman but she had a calm expression while she asked him, "Robin, what are you talking about?"
Robin knew that he sounded crazy, just as it sounded crazy to him when Zayla mentioned it. He was ashamed to say it but that was what brought him here and he had to get the clarity he needed.
"Grandma, Zayla mentioned it."
"Who is Zayla?" The old woman frowned and asked, pretending that she did not know the serpent. Sabrina already told her everything and showed her the house Zayla lived in before and the old woman remembered her vividly.
With Robin, she was playing a fast one since she was eager to know Robin's intentions concerning the treasure.
"Sorry, you don't know her. She is the one pregnant with my child and she is also the one who donated her kidney to save me," Robin said and Cecilia's anger boiled.
Now she understood the reason why Robin did not attempt to save his marriage, all because Zayla was just like her father.
"What?" The old woman frowned and her gaze made Robin a little afraid. His father inherited that gaze from his mother and Robin had it too but experiencing it himself, he could not help but cower.
"I know you are surprised; I will bring her to visit you. She wanted to remain anonymous so no one knew it was her," Robin said, misunderstanding his grandmother's expressions to mean that she was too surprised to hear it, whereas it was not the case.
"Are you talking about Kennedy Chance's daughter?" The old woman removed her pretense and asked directly, perceiving that her grandson had been deceived by the evil man and his equally evil daughter once again.
Only Cecilia dared to tell him about what Kennedy Chance did to his mother, thinking that no one would know. By the time Robin's father got the proof, it was already too late and he had health challenges.
The least he could do was ban Zayla from stepping on the soil of New York City but he was not physically strong enough to take revenge against her father.
"Grandma, how do you know her?" Robin asked seriously since none of her family ever knew Zayla.
After he recovered from the kidney transplant, he was so happy and wanted to introduce Zayla to his father as the woman he wanted to marry but Zayla had disappeared just like that.
Later, he found out his father was involved but did not know the details of it.
"Her father was a close family friend before but he had a misunderstanding with your father and he warned him to never get close to him or his family. Kennedy is a very terrible man," Cecilia said, not wanting to spill the beans when she knew where Robin could find the truth.
"But his daughter saved my life. If he knew, he would reconsider, right?" Robin asked hopefully, the old woman scoffed, asking,
"Which daughter? Zayla? Have you spoken to her mother before?"
Zayla's mother was an honest woman and Cecilia knew that Robin would get information from her concerning her husband and daughter.
"No. The last time I went there, I did not see her mother," Robin responded thoughtfully, remembering that the general also had a similar reaction when he told him that Zayla was the one who saved his life.
"If you can, you should but that is not important at the moment. I am happy that you did not let me die before coming to see me," Cecilia smiled and said, trying to divert his attention from the matter at hand but Robin curiously asked her,
"Grandma, I still want an answer. What is in the villa and why did Sabrina want it so much?"
