Chapter 149 – Robin faints at the painful revelation
Robin suddenly felt guilty. If his father planned to give the treasure to Zayla, then he should have rightfully given her the villa but thought to know what this treasure was.2
'Robin, the treasure in that bottle, are two hundred pieces of rare clear diamonds, worth trillions of dollars. I don't know what the market value would be at the time you read this letter but it should be more and not less.'
'I know that this woman would not want it. She would reject it so what I ask is this, her happiness lies in your hands.'
Robin felt guilty again for being upset with Zayla because of just half a million and thought to apologize to her, but not until he read the next paragraph,
'Keep the treasure and give Sabrina the happiness she deserves. She is the woman who saved your life.'
No, Robin could not believe it. If Sabrina was the one who saved his life, then why did she not tell him throughout their three years of marriage?
'This was the reason why I pretended to be sick by then to force you to marry her, not knowing that I was indeed sick. I did not think that any woman loved you as much as she did. All she wanted was for you to love her for who she is, not because of the life she gave you. I guess you failed at that.'
Robin's eyes blurred again when he remembered the time of signing Sabrina's discharge forms and seeing her health record.
The way she got nervous when he asked about her blood group and turned sarcastic. Robin knew that his father would never lie so if there was a liar, then that was…
'One last thing, Robin, your mother did not die of sickness like I told you. She was poisoned by Kennedy Chance. It was a slow poison that was detected too late.'
'That is the reason why your mother battled for her life before losing it. I knew that her death was already too heavy on you, for which reason I kept it to myself but now, you are old enough to know what to do.'
Oh, Robin could feel the darkness closing up on him and dialed Daniel's number. When Daniel answered the phone, Robin could not speak.
"Robin, where are you?" Daniel was close to getting Mara's hacker when the call came through and had to end everything.
"Robin, are you alright?" Daniel could hear heavy panting, feeling that something was wrong. He instantly tracked him to the villa and set off.
From where he was, it took him at least thirty minutes to get there, even with the speed he used.
Reaching the villa, he was denied access and since Robin was not answering the phone, he called Sabrina. Daniel knew the whole story but did not know that Sabrina had given out the villa. He was glad when Sabrina answered the phone.
"Sabrina, Robin is the villa and I think something happened to him but the security would not let me in," Daniel said hastily, not asking how Sabrina was fairing.
Sabrina was disturbed due to the urgency in Daniel's tone but was also afraid that Robin wanted to take the villa from her to give to Zayla.
"What is he doing there? The villa no longer belongs to me," she said in a slightly indifferent tone. Daniel did not have time to argue, as he was very worried about Robin.
"Please cut it, Sabrina. Robin called and did not speak. I only heard heavy breathing and he is not answering his phone again. I tracked him to the villa and I know that he is in there."
Sabrina did not know why she even cared to worry about him but maybe, for the sake of his father and grandma.
"Hang on a minute."
Sabrina put the phone on hold and called Cecilia. At the same time, Daniel called Robin's doctor to meet him at the villa.
"Grandma, please did you give Robin access to the villa?"
"Yes. He came here asking about the treasure but how did you know?" Cecilia asked, wondering if Robin called Sabrina after discovering the treasure.
"His best friend suspects that something happened to him. Please call security to give him access to go and check on him," Sabrina said.
Since she already gave the villa to Cecilia, she had no right to question who she allowed there.
"It's my fault. I gave him the keys to his father's room as he asked me to do before his death. I don't know what Robin found out but it must be serious. I will call them and call you later," Cecilia explained with remorse, feeling that whatever Robin saw must have been too painful for him to take.
"Thank you," Sabrina said and after Cecilia hung up, she said to Daniel, "The security will give you access but please update me on his condition."
"Sure, Sabrina, thank you," Daniel said.
At the same time the security received a call and opened the gates. Daniel did not know where to check because of the vastness of the villa and asked the maids,
"Hey, you know me. Where is Robin?" The maid had no idea and pointed in the direction Margaret was coming out. Daniel followed it and smiled a little.
"Margaret, where is Robin?"
Margaret was confused at the intrusion, wondering why Daniel did not call Robin on the phone. She knew that Daniel was Robin's best friend.
"Mr. Root, he went upstairs to his father's room."
"Thank you."
Daniel was in the middle of the stairs when he paused and said,
"His doctor is on the way. Send him in when he gets here."
Margaret was flung with anxiety. "Did something happen?"
Margaret was worried but the doctor had arrived so she sent him upstairs. Daniel had gotten there first and screamed when he saw Robin lying unconscious on the cold floor with an open briefcase and a long paper in his hand.
"ROBIN!"
