Chapter 52 - Pasta? No one cooks it better than Sabrina
Zayla reluctantly brought out her card, as she watched his back through the glass door. Robin has been busy with his phone since they entered the shop and was not giving her any attention. 0
Now, he walked away without showing any interest in the ring. It was obvious that if Robin was pushed into doing something he did not want to, the result was always terrible.
Arriving at the penthouse, Robin sped away as soon as she stepped out of the car, Zayla wondered. Earlier, he made her feel like he wanted to spend all his time with her but suddenly, it was as if she was forcing herself on him again. Ah, what a man! How did Sabrina live with him for three good years?
While driving to Daniel's house, Robin called him on the phone which he connected to his dashboard, "Dan, are you sure about what you are saying?"
Daniel had texted him earlier that he had information on Sabrina's ex, which got Robin excited.
It did not show in his voice but Daniel could tell that he was.
"Robin, I have authentic news this time and it's worth the money you paid. I had to work through the night to get this information. I had to pay some people too," Daniel explained further. He did not add that his inspiration for working so fast was because of Lizzy.
"Then why not give me a hint?" Robin asked, a little skeptically. Since Daniel failed him the last time which was a first, he still had his doubts but Daniel chuckled and responded,
"Hahaha, like I said in the text, I'm cooking so come to my house."
Robin did not take it seriously before but since he mentioned it again, it was worth Robin's attention.
"Cooking?" He asked with raised brows while increasing the speed.
"Yes. I haven't done it in a long time but I'm doing it to sharpen my skills. I want to impress a girl," Daniel laughed from his side of the line. Robin shook his head,
"You are talking rubbish but I'm already at your penthouse," he said and ended the call. When he got out of the car and entered the living room, he began yelling, "Daniel, where are you? I'm here."
Daniel came out of the kitchen with two plates of hot steaming pasta on a tray. "Calm down, Robin, let's eat first. You should taste my pasta and tell me how it tastes."
Daniel sets the food on the dining table while beckoning Robin to join him. It smelled good but recalling what happened with Zayla's cooking, Robin could not conclude that it would taste as that of his ex-wife's.
"Pasta? No one cooks it better than Sabrina." Robin pulled a chair and sat beside the dining table while he spoke.
Daniel sat on a chair opposite Robin before asking seriously, "Robin, are you missing your ex-wife?"
"Dan, Sabrina cooks well, and admitting it has got nothing to do with missing her," Robin said before picking up his fork and taking his first bite.
"Then you won't like what I want to say," Daniel said while digging into his food. Robin swallowed before saying,
"But I want to hear it."
Daniel shook his head and spoke honestly, "No point. I thought you wanted all that information because you missed her." Sometimes, it felt as if he got the signs right but other times, it looked as if he got them all wrong. However, Robin was getting upset. Dropping his fork, he demanded,
"Daniel, I paid you for it. Now spit it out."
Daniel lifted his two hands in total surrender while he teased Robin, "Hey, eat first Robin, you look hungry." Robin shook his head and continued to eat but did not want to admit that he was hungry.
"I had breakfast," he smiled and spoke, while eating the food. Daniel chuckled and responded,
"I guess you didn't like it," he pointed out, Robin stilled a little before asking worriedly,
"Is it so obvious?"
He has always tried to put it all together to not let it show that a part of him was missing but Daniel was making it obvious that it was not hidden the way Robin thought it to be.
"Glaring," Daniel said seriously.
"So, what is the news?" Robin asked after dabbing his lips with a napkin and rising to his feet. He walked leisurely to the living room and sat on the sofa, leaning his back against it whiles he crossed his legs elegantly. Daniel took the empty plates back to the kitchen before joining him in the living room and saying,
"You didn't compliment the food."
"But I emptied the plate which I never did after Sabrina left," Robin said seriously. Emptying the plate meant that the food was delicious but he was not going to say it directly.
"You mean after you divorced her?" Daniel asked in a mocking tone before going on to say, "Now, this is what happened."
Robin leaned in to give his full attention so Daniel continued to speak, "Since Lizzy James was close to Sabrina and the others, I hacked her."
Robin frowned instantly, his anger rising and falling. How could Daniel have called him all the way here and wasted so much time by forcing him to eat which he enjoyed though, but to tell him about Lizzy? Robin could not be courteous about it.
"I don't want information on Lizzy or whatever. I want to know about Sabrina's ex and Martin Dane's sister," he said seriously. Martin perked up instantly, thinking about his truckload of information. If he did not take his time to explain it well, everything would be confusing but Robin was so impatient.
"Robin, please listen first, and why the rush? Anyway, in the cause of hacking Elizabeth James, I got information on everyone else and Sabrina's ex-boyfriend is fake," Daniel revealed, Robin was greatly confused though internally, he was happy to hear the word fake, thereby asking seriously,
"What do you mean?"
